This is so true. When working rescue and safety on a surprise 16 hour shift once in Texas my team didn’t have anything to eat. The Mexican laborers came and asked us to join them for their break. They had a small grill going and made sure we got a good meal. It was delightful and incredibly kind of them to take care of us like that.
Americans might not like Mexicans coming over the border but I’m just going to say this yall realize these same Mexicans coming over are hard workers and would take their own shirt off their back for you
not 🚭 even Mexican and I know to prepare like i gotta feed an entire family ... oh i won't eat a 20 coarse meal myself but I'll at least fill up ... army marches on thier stomach they say.well if my stomach can do the marching then my legs gonna sit back and enjoy the ride❤😂 but really people need to prepare more than bare minimum i think minimum for me is at least 1/3 more than what i need to make it through the day in case o should ever need to share and often more than double what I need
A good construction site always has one man with a portable grill ready to cook the whole crew a lunch and a good crew tips in about $5-10 per person. When I'd go out on Thursday and Fridays after school with my grandfather, I don't remember a day when Ronnie(our lead foreman) didn't have his grill. And every guy would tip about $10-20 towards lunch in the morning and Ronnie would go around 8am to get the food and have stuff cooking around 11 and we'd break 1-2 in heat of the day. And he'd cook lunch for 35 people. Every holiday we'd go to Ronnie's house and him and his wife smoked and grilled pigs, chickens, seafood, you name it, they cooked it. And he'd pay for that with the leftover change he got from all us tipping towards lunchs throughout the year
dude this is the truest thing yet. when I worked on the pipeline we had an operator named chewy. and his wife loaded a cooler for him every morning and told him if he comes home with leftovers she won't cook for him anymore. bout 4 of us ate dam good with him 🤣
@@eligebrown8998 Damn right. It ties into the culture of hospitality. Also there are few quicker way to ingratiate yourself to a group then through good food.
Same for the factory when I ate with Hispanics it was a pitch in every day. They would play a little game called what can we feed the gringo. I was happy to oblige them
Yeah, and they take like 30 20 minute restroom breaks on an 8 hour work day. Any other mf of any race would be terminated. You can't tell me I am not right. Lol...
The reason we all went to lunch at the same time as hector and phillipe. We always ate good especially when hector brought his portable grill. Some of the best food I've had came off the bed of Toyota pick-up
Cause we mexicans do bring a ton of food to share with those who didn't bring lunch to work cause we wouldn't want any of our hardworking coworkers go hungry yo.
Hell yeah! Anytime I am doing my thing on a jobsite, I make a point of using my limited Spanish to make friends with at least one of my Hispanic brothers. Lunch is amazing! Everyone brings a little something to share and it's served up family style. Good times, good laughs, and good for morale. Viva la Mexico!🌮🥙🍻
When my husband was temporarily working at our church, we were hosting a Korean church until they acquired one of there own. They discovered that he loved the food and always had a plate for him, in gratitude for setting up tables and such for them.
@@maryjoyspohrer256 Absolutely love some good kim chi. Korean food runs a tight second to south of the border fare. Good on your husband and the church for helping those folks out. 👍👏
Sounds like he got one of those things called a traditional wifey!! Lucky Bastard. These new wives will send you to work with a hot pocket and a lunchable.😂😅
No lie, the shop I worked at had a group of Mexicans and they always brought in breakfast/lunch burritos and tamales wrapped in corn husks that were steamed, $2 each. Home made. Always came in with a cooler full. Great bunch of guys :D
Now Bossman, what you REALLY need to do is talk with Pablo and his wife about setting something up for the crew. Everyone chips in, and of his abuela is fine with it. She makes just a little more for lunch, and everyone is eating like kings 😊. Maybe the guys can bring in something good from their house as well.
One job I worked at my buddy's wife was taking home an easy $200 a week doing that. We'd all put in $10 or $20 on Mondays, his tailgate turned into a taco bar at lunch time.
@Butch Garner roscoe! I'm beat your young ass safety man If you stick me with heart attack waiting to happen over here for lunch pals! No offense boss. 😂
For real though the Latino men always go hard on lunch. I used to work on a paving crew, the guys had tortillas sizzling on aluminum foil on the engine of the asphalt hopper, those guys know how to do lunch
Hispanic culture gets a bad rep because of the "siesta", but its often preceded or followed by hours upon hours of hard work. After all that delicious food, a short nap to let it digest, and boom, you got energy for days. Damn i miss my old co-worker Enrique who taught me that greatest of life lessons as a young buck. Although I'd be lying if i said i didnt miss his Abuela's cooking more. 😂😂
Bro this shit is so true when I worked construction lunch time was like a buffet I never seen so much food laid out on sheetrock in my life.😂😂😂 P.S. They also had a microwave😂😂
My girlfriend’s people are Salvadoran and when I go over to her mom’s or any of her brothers houses, they are always like “hey, you want something to eat” then basically give me a menu.
Preach it man. First thing I do is get the gas line hookup so "pablo" can get his cooker going first thing. You take care of the boys, they sling you some burritos.
That and "You wanna try it? I'll bring you more tomorrow if you like it." And you're thinking a small Tupperware bowl and it's a 13x9 casserole dish of food. 😂😂
Man! I hope you do bring this back up around Christmas! Revenge is best served cold and what better cold than 9 month old leftovers served during tfe middle of winter
I work on a all Mexican crew. Last week we had a grill going fajitas, Modelo, corn, some one brought tamales, there's always mango and pineapple various fruits . Love being a texican . 🤠
I will never forget working one winter in Virginia, on a new build hospital in the BITTER cold, and we had a kerosene jet heater that was over 4' in diameter. The Mexicans would line the entire bottom half of the heater tube with foil wrapped tamales, burritos, frittatas, and a POT of beans. The whole inside of the heater bore was basically turned into a 6 course Mexican buffet (breakfast AND lunch) before 6am every day! TRUTH!
At my job we have about 10 Hispanic dudes, all of them are related in one way or another to each other. Great guys. This is a perfect representation of what they are like on break. Every break they are whipping out a feast of stuff to eat. They do this even on 10 minute breaks... To tell you the truth I'm absolutely jealous while I sip on a vending machine soda, and eat a bag of expired vending chips.
If any hunters bring deer meet to some fellow hispanic workers they will always feed you. I gave a guy roberto as many deer as he wanted and i didnt pack a lunch for 3 years on a jobsite. His wife was awesome. Plus we all were there when he became a US citzen.
🤣🤣🤣 he said his cholesterol ant right 🤣🤣 and remember it at Christmas 😂 🎄🎁 write it down take a picture 😂 but lunch with Pablo sounds better with a steak 🥩🤣🤣
This is why your cafeteria needs to be well stocked and well staffed. It's amazing how well work goes when the lads enjoy lunch, but you can't trust them to do it properly on themselves. Not to mention that economies of scale enter the mix.
