Synopsis:
Vin Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick in the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga. A dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy, Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. Couldn’t agree more. This was the franchise that needed to have a sh!t ton of movies but NOPE. You are getting 10 frickin’ Fast and Furious movies that nobody asked for. Hopefully Furya will be great so the franchise can be revived. Really need some more Riddick sequels even a soft reboot would be welcome at this point. But I’d prefer to see a direct sequel to this one. And get to see that “balls deep in Dahl” stuff. Such a shame that it was said so explicitly but never shown.🫠

The script is done, and so are the story boards....but, I don't think you will hear anything until Fast X is over. The studio will gauge Vin's box office draw on that, which will either mean a green light for Riddick or not. Or maybe they will alter its budget?

Oh yeah! Pitch Black was like this amazing dark movie that came out of nowhere, and probably had a limited audience initially. But those viewers that took the time to watch it (probably many times, like me) were so well rewarded, and we were blessed with 2 sequels. @Universal - we're still looking for more!!! Damn the woke brigade and make another REAL movie; "Riddick's Revenge", or "Riddick - Battle of the Octagins". A prequel (with Vin Diesel) might also be acceptable - Riddick - The Destruction of Furia".

Nah, pitch black did better. Not only does Riddick go toe to toe with a creature more than twice his size. But he in MOMENTS disemboweled it, and instead of the average hoot and howl most protagonists would be doing. He simply goes in and breaks the thing's neck to be sure it's dead, and calmly says with a disappointed growl "did not know who it was fucking with" like a badass. There's nothing else that compares to that

I never understood why riddick wasn’t upfront with how his son died. Looking back, I think riddick just treats everyone as savage and hostile animals. He knew that if he said to the leader guy that his son wanted to sacrifice a kid and was addicted to morphine, they’d all react emotionally and kill him in a moment of agression. He accepts what he is and will make sure everyone around him does the same, they must understand we are all no better when the pressure hits us.

He's (sorry) being noble, not hurting the father. Fits in with Riddick's dangerous but only because he has to be, otherwise a good person. (Not a very good person, but enough to be kind to a father when he's about to die and it won't make any difference.)

The build up to that scene is pure gold, because earlier on mister split head was throwing menaces to Riddick about banging his head on that specific box. This movie is fun as hell
