So much of that sound is in his hands, you can see him working around what the amp and pedal is giving him. He is the best thing to happen to Blues in the last decade, a contemporary edge to it and perfect playing.
You haters are too funny!...First off, I don't care how many scales, inverted chords and arpeggios you know...you cant learn someone's touch and feel. It's what separates the men from the boys. Every guitar player in the world comes to the point when they have to learn a Hendrix tune. Not one player comes close to HIS sound, no matter what they know! Second, I'd love to see anyone of you have the opportunity to be invited to EC's Crossroads Festival, walk up on stage (with Doyle next to you...hahaha) face a sea of people!, and rock that place out, much less finish a song without choking!
jamhound1 awesome comments bro.. .. been following Gary for about 4-5 years.. Saw Him Saturday night in Asbury Park New Jersey at the Stone Pony Summer Stage.. GOOSEBUMPS are permanent. I didn't think he could add any more notes to his playing.. Incredible performance.. He owns the guitar..
Well its going to be coming up to a year since this video was recorded, and I've noticed that he is still using the same setup, but his tones have gotten even better!!!! Would love to know what the exact settings on the fuzz were on the studio recording of numb, thats a killer tone!!!!
epiphones are nice guitars for the money. his 2nd studio cd is not like his debut cd, not much guitar soloing and it doesn't rock. hopefully the next one will be much more electric guitar inspired and less r and b.
