The Righteous Brothers (Bill Medley & the late Bobby Hatfield) had a string of hits including "Unchained Melody" and "Soul & Inspiration". Their rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone" is jaw-dropping. Back in the day it was called "blue-eyed soul". I hope you both feel well enough to enjoy your vacation! Take as long as you need - we'll still be waiting around (we have no lives - LOL).

@@Killermcknight - Sorry - the Righteous Brothers were called 'blue-eyed soul' NOT the song (LOL)! I'm retired - no more work, school - if financial stability increases (or if you win a lottery) over the next decades perhaps someday you can retire too!

I hate to be the one to break this but the song is not called "You've Got That Lovin' Feelin'". It is "You've LOST That Lovin' Feelin'". 🙄

The Dynamic Duo never disappoints! To me their the greatest duo ever. Many very good songs. Soul and Inspiration Just once in my Life Little Latin Lupe Lu, Ebb Tide. They were on 🔥🔥🔥 doing The Night time is the Right Time with the Blossoms. Bill Medley (deep voice) still performing at age 84 but with Bucky Heard. Sadly Bobby Hatfield passed in 2003. I hope yr both feeling better soon. Best of success with yr channel

It WAS a "Poppy" song when Hall and Oates covered it around 1984 and brought it back into the Top Twenty. Their arrangement was much more of a pop arrangement, Yes.

I'm so in love with male singers' voice of the 60s to 70s - deep and heavy, very manly - maybe this is also the reason why I love Cakra's voice, lol 😂🙏 I actually have one suggestion, please take a look at Tom Jones at Ed Sullivan Show singing Delilah ... Tom's voice is beautiful here - very oldies but sounds "expensive" 😌👍

This song received the most airplay on radio/tv in the 20th century. This song was written for The Righteous Brothers by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. This song was in Top Gun. Hall and Oates covered this with success too.

What you are listening to is the studio version dubbed onto this live version. There is a version of this that isn't dubbed. This was recorded on the show Shindig, complete with a bunch of screaming teeny boppers.

Both unique, one high and one low; together they were magic. I'm sure you'll follow with more of their hit songs but don't miss their lively and funny R&B performances with Shindig's own band, backup singers and dancers. You want to hear Bobby get down and soulful listen to him sing Summertime . Then Stay with Me. Phenomenal. Another good one with both is You'll Never Walk Alone on the Ed Sullivan show. Also recently posted is The Midnight Special, with them hosting it, which just a gift to Righteous Brothers fans.

You'll love hearing soulful Bill Medley sing lead (Bobby comes in for the chorus) on the blues record (no video) "I Want To Make Love To You". His solo record/video of "Brown Eyed Woman" with the group The Blossoms, on the show "Playboy After Dark", is another good one. Then see both of The Righteous Brothers on the "Ed Sullivan Variety Hour" sing "You'll Never Walk Alone". Good Reaction to them blending their voices on You've Lost That Loving Feeling. Their follow up song/video was "Soul and Inspiration" from the Hullabaloo TV show.

I absolutely live Bill Medley. He’s still singing, but just announced that he will retire from touring after this year. I even got to speak to him a few months ago! Bill also had a successful solo career, and won a Grammy for I’ve Had the Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing. @@Killermcknight Sorry, I HATE that version, little emotion an dlots of 80's techno in it turned me off entirely. People are always trying to perfect perfection. New audiences at the time had no damn clue about the Righteous Brothers almost 20 years later.

This song was in the movie Top Gun with Tom Cruise. The background sound was a Phil Spector idea called."the wall of sound. It had a reverb type of sound that was meant to fill up the whole song. Spector used this technique with other groups of that time as well. Fun fact......one of those backup singers was Cher before she and Sonny started singing together.

Guys, do you understand how iconic this song is? BS on the other versions no matter how popular they were...THIS is the original that had most radio play of all time...for Christ's sake this is 1965 with full orchestra and choir, in the middle of Beatlemania it takes the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1965. this...was...the studio...version. It was NOT live here, the record was superimposed on the video.

You could not hear Bill Medley on Unchained MELODY (not medley) because he did not make a sound while Bobby Hatfield knocked it out of the ball park--he soloed that one. The pepper version you might recall if you've watched Top Gun.

The other version you heard was probably Hall and Oates cover, which was also a hit in the 70s. Also, Bobby can go three or four octaves high. 60s were definitely better because you could understand the words. As the decades gone by the music drowns out the voices.
