This is the second home in which ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

I got a new original Ring doorbell for $100 on eBay from Best Buy and it works great. The only thing is you have to have a strong wifi signal for it to work well so keep that in mind.

1:57 unfortunately that is a misleading statement, as doorbell push ringer systems can use either DC or AC voltages. The ring 2 needs between 8-24 V *AC* The easiest method to change to AC if your doorbell push is using DC is to replace the existing doorbell box with a compatible unit such as the Byron 776 (£11.99 in the UK from Screwfix) .This unit outputs 8v AC at the bell push. I will be doing this as then there is no need to mess about with the battery. Some people say hardwired is also better for keeping up all round performance of this unit.

Good video but i need a little help with my install. I installed my Video doorbell 2 but before I changed my transformer to 8-24va. I also have a digital chime which is 16v, so I installed the supplied diode. My doorbell is working, I get a great video and the digital chime is also working. My problem is the transformer is making a humming like noise and the digital chime is warm. I'm using the 16v-20vac terminals on the video doorbell. help

Hey Andrew, I’m no video critic but I have a couple of recommendations that might make your videos a little better. One is that throughout the video, there seemed to be some shaking. It was most obvious when you were unboxing the doorbell; it seemed like either the camera or the table was wobbling. Another suggestion is having some different kinds of backgrounds, or maybe just setting up something that looks a little nicer in the back. For example, at 6:51 the background looks like a random room with some stuff on the floor. Two other youtubers who I think do backgrounds really well are Marquez Brownlee (MKBHD) and Jeff Benjamin (9to5mac), so maybe check out the kind of stuff they do. Obviously these are just my personal recommendations and can be taken with a grain of salt. I think everything else about your videos is great!

I don’t get this. I live in apartment building and my electricity box is in the hall of my floor. Let’s say I don’t set up motion detection because the hall is small and I don’t want to be notified every time e neighbor comes and goes. So, someone who wants to get in to the apartment to shop around, just has to knock on the door. Gets no answer. He has learned that no one is home. Next he walks to the small compartment in the hall where all electric boxes of the floor are. Breaks the compartment door, turns off power to my apartment: no power, no WiFi. Since most of these devices only have SIM cards to call someone but not for actual data like video and audio, they are all dead. I mean, what are these cameras for if there is no WiFi? Is there a nice camera doorbell somewhere that works exclusively with gsm SIM card data transfer ?? Thanks.

Yes, there is. It's called Smartbel Intelligent Doorbell. It uses a sim card and has 2 way communication. I have had one for about 5 years now and love it. If you have a doorbell camera and capture the suspect stealing your package, create a free incident report at vidilante(dot)com where you can tag it to your location on a map. There's a place to post an optional police report id also where anyone with info can contact the police directly.

Ring bell door is trash, the motion sensor never work , and never alert me if someone is in my front door , i lost one package and that bell shit didn’t take video

The WiFi connection is very poor even the door bell is very near to the wireless router

That’s not the case in my situation. I’m quite far away yet I get very solid signal. I’d say issue with your router or issue with your ring.

I am dissappointed in that I have to wait for up to 10 hours for the battery to be fully charged BEFORE I can proceed with installing and setting up. I was led by the misunderstanding that the installation was simple and quick but 10 hours is a fair slice of a day whilst waiting around for the battery to be fully charged. It would be more convenient if the batteries were factory precharged first before sale..

Jesus, everything in this video is an advertisement. Including the equipment you used to make it. How can I trust your review when you have affiliate links exploding from every orifice? Also for a review on the first minute I watched, it felt like I was on a carousel. At least pan in the other direction sometimes!
