They also seem to be behaving as if elves are generally quite short, on the basis of hiring some short people to play them (notably Galadriel). Otherwise this makes absolutely no sense if they are familiar with elves, because discount Gandalf is probably not exceptionally tall for a human. Elves ere supposed to be quite tall and I believe Galadriel was about 6’6”.
i can't wait for ROP season 3 to reveal that bilbo baggings got his name from bill,c uz he's rich af, and boo, because he likes scaring ppl. it'd be so creative! 🥰🥰
The only reason we need to ask "why aren't you in Lindon" is because they are terrible at the flow of time. When characters can travel to Lindon instantly, it doesn't make sense to establish Imladris. The reason why it makes sense in the books is because they needed a safe place to rest relatively quickly. They head north and establish Imladris which is eventually known as Rivendell. This is lore accurate, but it's confusing in the show because they're terrible at depicting traveling far distances and the passage of time.
Its so conveniant, every elven soldier dies by being hit by one arrow, then she shows up, and everyone is out of arrows, till she is fight her way past, the she gets stabbed, through the heart, with a powerfull artifact, that is supposed to be strong enough to kill gods... stands up unhinged, throws herself of a cliff, after a thousand meter free fall sets the ring free beneath herself and has no shattered bones but just an by evil infected flesh wound... which can easily be cured by her ring... that couldnt even heal Adar for longer than he wore it... and then she doesnt answer the question what to do, and sets herself up to be praised as the sunlight that defeats darkness...🤯
In the end armies still teleport, Idildur falls for a cheating thought like a modern day cuck, Theo needs to be more relevant to the story, Black legolas survives, Adar dies i guess, wizards and halfies, and no one holds Karendriel accountable for not telling them about Halbrand being Sauron the dark lord aka middle earth satan. Also Sauron gets really lucky.
Galadriel: Can swim 500 miles without stopping Can survive a pyroclastic cloud Can fall 300ft to her death on hard stone after being punctured in the lung. And survive, in the next scene all cleaned up in a brand new white dress, while being in the wilderness with no resources. This entire show is one long Monty Python sketch. “It’s just a flesh wound.”
After leading Sauron to the Southlands to the defeat of the Numenorian army (leading to the end of Miriel's rule), Galadreil leads Sauron to Ceribrimbor, where he makes the rings, which leads to the defeat of the Eleven armies. Galadriel also fails to commit suicide because she forgot that jumping off cliffs is "just a minor inconvenience."
Not forgetting though the absurdity of them dealing with the king v balrog issue while the battle was already ongoing, so there was no way at all that they could get there in time to do more than help to bury the bodies.
@@Karras353 I would say true, but then again: teleportation is nothing new to this series, so that's the last thing to wonder about = from the perspective from the in-series worldbuilding, teleportation seems to be an undeniable reality. XD
@@anonymussicarius8899 Not even just teleportation though, as even the time to muster and organise a significant force should have been taken into consideration. As with other offenders like late series GoT, it’s more like they are operating some kind of army spawn point where a sizeable force just appears, in formation and equipped for battle.
I have not seen what you have seen, but I've seen my share (most of the 1st episode of the 1st season, until Guyladrield committed sudoku by ocean). I'm actually torn, are the showrunners absolutely incompetent or are they actually just extremely hateful people? I'm leaning towards extremely incompetent, since being hateful enough to do this on purpose would require them to have an IQ larger than their shoe size.
The really funny thing is, that once season 3 comes out, it will make even less sense, be less consistent and be so bad it will still surprise us^^ Thank you Lana for letting me join on this crazy trip with you :) I need some drugs now^^
You know what could have been a cool plotline? If this season had ended with Durin successfully removing his father from power and becoming his Regent. Then the next season could have been about his internal struggles with his guilt and sadness for treating his beloved father that way (albeit out of necessity), while there is strife within the Dwarven realm between Old King and Regent loyalists, and all the while the King falls deeper under the influence of his ring until he's ready to do something truly mad and unthinkable, like idk, releasing the Balrog to sic it on his son or something.
From the absurd where Arondir is suddenly healed from death in the previous episode, to the cringe where Elrond makes out with his future mother-in-law, back to absurd with the dwarves basically saying “Hmm. Balrog killed my papa. Anyway let’s go to Eregion.”
@@creatrixZBD i figured as much. How f'ing stupid can you be to write a show and say "well we can't think of a logical reason for it to happen so we just won't show it".
nah they just waltz in to celebrimbor's smith room, ask him if he's sauron, then he replies "i have many names" and then the orcs just immidiately follow him lol. and it's funny bc by this point in time they were still led by adar, so i don't even know where the whole betrayal even came from? and then they end up killing adar the same way the orcs killed marion back then, as a way of "revenge" i supposed, but it's not estabilished if perhaps, sauron used mind manipulation magic or some stuff like that, (like the ones he used on the eregion guards to kill each other ig?) bc he really didn't do any conviencing whatsoevet lol. and we still don't know why they suddenly hate adar's guts so yeah, it's pretty blurry & confusing. as most of this show tbh.
@@sadakopilled The orc started to hate Adar the moment Adar said he wanted the attack to continue on Eregion even tho the orc were getting slaughtered. That's where the mutiny started to germinate in the orc second in command head (what "father" cares about his "children" if he commands them to die on command). Later on, Sauron asking the orc his name is just to show that he "cared" about the orcs and it worked because they were already unsure whether or not they should keep following Adar. Sauron is a master manipulator and it wasn't out of the blue, It's the only thing that's good about the show : Sauron manipulating everyone for his own bidding.
i hope that galadriel dying & then being resurrected and being all glowy is some sort of symbolization that she's more wiser and calmer now who'll FINALLY rely on sorcery rather then on anger and swords, altough that's still pretty stupid since galadriel's already supposed to be like that, but at least she'll be more tolerable and less annoying in the next season. maybe?
Is no going to mention that the showrunners just plain forgot they kill off a character? Last episode dead this episode not even mention that he got stabbed multiple times
@BabudroSun the legolas knock off got stabbed by evil elf man a couple of time and was left lying died on the ground next episode he's running around shooting ppl it not even addressed that he got stabbed so even if you being super generous it doesn't make sense
The final shot of the elves seems to promote Arondir (who's tied to characters people hate). Nori is either being written out or they're setting up for the founding of the Shire. The Pelagir(?) thing sounds like it's setting up for conflict with the ents. Gandalf probably still has business to attend to with the dark wizard. Lots of threads that people that people actively hate or just aren't looking forward to. Ents are appreciated when included, but having Numereans battle ents seems like an aggressive waste of budget. Ents and Tom Bombadil are probably best in low doses.
I enjoyed your reviews a lot. Perfection. Nevertheless, I still fear season 3...I will stay tuned to your take on it. By the way, that "Grand Elf - Gandalf" thing works only in English. Funny that (German it is "Großer Elb, maybe "Großelb?", which means Grandfather of Elves.).
That girl was talking to Izzy about how her betrothed is making a home for both of them with his own tow hands so that they can live happily together and her initial reaction to that was to kiss another man?? What is wrong with these writers?
Could this be the end of Xena Galadriel? I believe they're re in what to be Rivendell in the future They way they've condensed time they may show it next season
This is a great show and costing a ton of money with fantastic acting. CGI effects are terrific. It stays fairly close to Tolken Cannon. If it wasn’t for the show, there wouldn’t be anymore of the Lord of the rings. Stop watching it, quit complaining and go watch the six movies that Peter Jackson made and tell yourself what a furious you are and true fan. but remember, he took liberties too. Let the rest of us enjoy this wonderful series.
Tolkien fans wanted to like this show. We wanted it to be good. Instead, it was a steaming pile of garbage. Disrespected lore, horrible casting, bad dialogue, destroyed characters, messed up timeline and nonsensical plot. How is THIS the most expensive TV show ever made?
Disgustingly bad a child could write better than this absolute drivel, it doesn't make sense at all, Tolkein must be churning in his grave, disgraceful show and they should scrap it right now and I was hopeful too about this series, how absolutely wrong could I have been, can it now because it's an insult to our intelligence.
It's not about hate it's about defying logic. I know for normies and consumeers like you logic doesn't play a part in your life, its all about impulses, like a 3 year old who can't resist the urge to accept every candy he's offered, as long as you have a visual representation of something from the books, as long as your hunger to consume everything that's new about a certain world no matter how bad it is you're happy and you feel the need to defend it like a junkie. For ex. how can you accept or not be at least slightly annoyed with the fact that they show Arondir being stabbed twice by a freaking blade or that elf guy having 3 arrows in the back and looking at the brink of death and some scenes later they are fully on their feet like it never happened...HOW ffs ? i'm not contesting that they wanted to keep them alive, it's not about that, fine by me, i liked Arondir but for the love of GOD show us how he managed to survive, were they healed in the middle of a battle by Gil Galad ??? don't take your audience as being dumb and if they point this error don't call it hate.
