That is so awesome story. I Love Little Richard. The most kindest Man on the Planet. And it was so sad he passed away in terrible covid time. He should have had an American State Funeral. 😇
He’s sorta always this way, how he survived and succeeded.. Yet he never hid anything, I love all of his insights, even in the few spots he had in the Chucky Berry documentary, he tells almost too many truths.. Which is what is beautiful to me, besides his fun, great tunes…
THIS IS EPIC. Little Richard was probably the Most FREE MAN in America. He was totally without restraint and hesitation and could care less what anyone thought. The very reason he was the Quasar and atomic bomb 💣 of Rock and Roll. God Bless you Mr. Richard Penniman 🙏 and thank you for giving Rock and Roll The Explosion it needed and for setting the tone and foundation for all who came after you. And most of all for giving all praise and GLORY TO JEHOVAH THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD 🙌 🙏!! RIP Sir.
This was the best ever induction I've seen. Little Richard nailed it. He was always on top of his game. Wish the world was when he was with us. Rest In Paradise, Sir. WE miss you.
I Loved and love Little Richard. I was a teenager in the the 1950's and danced , enjoyed and listened to every tune. He DEFINED rock n roll and so much more. He was a gift to all of us... And listening to him sing today is as great as it was in 1955!
Wow, I really enjoyed this! The Legendary Little Richard looked fantastic! I didn't know he could sing in different registers, he sounded so good. The Originator!! The Architect! Of Rock & Roll! Oh & that audience 🙄🙄 ugh!
Someone stole my Otis LPs when my roommate had a party. I kept the covers from many years. Inside one was a Thank You card from Mrs. Redding, thanking me for the sympathy card I sent her. When I finally got rid of the covers, I forgot to take the card she sent me out. I was touched that she acknowledged my card.
Lil Richard deserved much more in life for his contribution to Rock and Roll. The Architecture of Rock and Roll!! ❤️💪🏆🏅🥇🎵🎶🎵❤️ Lil Richard & Chuck Berry invented Rock and Roll!! Genesis of Rock and Roll!
You're absolutely right.....good evening Gloria how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a lovely day that the lord has made
The Harlem Blues & Jazz Band (with Eddie Durham) performs at The Waldorf Astoria for The very first Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony inducting “Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers, Ray Charles, James Brown, Sam Cooke and Jerry Lee Lewis; Non-Performer category were Sun Records founder Sam Phillips and seminal DJ Alan Freed; Early Influence category were blues icon Robert Johnson, country's Jimmie Rogers, and boogie-woogie pianist Jimmy Yancey. Columbia Records' legendary A&R man John Hammond. Eddie Durham recalled: “I played nine years [with Wynonie and Larry Darnell]. I booked us in Richmond, Norfolk, Newport, Georgia with three bands traveling. Little Richard’s five-piece band; my six-piece girl band, a shake-dancer named Sonya Millburn from Canada, Elaine who had the hit record, C.C. Williams and cuban Freddie Benito. Little Richard was just recording then and he got hit right after that tour. But I had Little Richard’s band on one side, my band on another side and the girls in the middle, maybe 17 or 18 pieces altogether. We played the opening together. Little Richard would do the blues and we’d open up altogether with it…feature some guys in my band and some girls on the saxes and then onto somebody else and in the end, Little Richard would come out and sing and we’d close the curtain, then open it back up with the girls band, and they’d do a specialty." The younger people in the front were rude to Little Richard. He did a fabulous job presenting this award. I thought Otis Redding was singing the songs. It's a shame that other generations don't recognize the talent we've lost over the years.
You're absolutely right.....good evening Susan how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a lovely day that the lord has made
When James Brown passed Little Richard said of James "Before him there waan't and after him there never will be". What a tribute from Richard to James. However, the same can and will be said of you too.Richard. And truer words will never be spokes. RIP Richard and James.....
