That's what I'm saying man. So many people don't wind these bad boys up. They see the top speed being lucky to hit 100mph and write it off as slow and boring. You can hammer the hell out of these bikes without much backlash. You have to try to get the tire to spin. The way he's riding and how we ride these machines is where they're fun is at. It's like getting on a old bike but it runs smooth starts reliably and doesn't bottom out. It's my daily and i never end my rides in the same mood i was in before.
I bought one yesterday, it's a big, heavy, dangerous bike. More like a car than a bike, like you're sitting on top of a locomotive hard to stop. I like my early 1980's air cooled inline twins better. Simpler to work on, lighter, and more flickable, stoppable, and easier to control. I do not recommend a Shadow as your first bike. Even with 15 years of daily driving motorcycles year around, the Shadow scares the living sh1t out of me. It's very pretty, very heavy, very hard to stop, very deceptive. Defo do not ever get a Shadow as your first bike, unless you're built like the buff earlier version of Dwayne the Rock Johnson, before he went soft... which, 97% of us are probably not.
@@_007BI know, I quoted that figure when talking to the seller, but it feels more like 1000 lbs when you're trying to steer or hold it up, regardless of the low seat height. I bought it because I thought it was as close to a bog standard motorcycle there was... but there's decidedly something unnerving about it. You feel like you're sitting on top of a locomotive that only wants to go straight and is going to take considerable distance to stop. On my other motorcycles when there was a car suddenly in front of me I have swerved left onto the grass into mailbox world, or swerved right into oncoming traffic lane and immediately swerved back left to avoid becoming bug splat in a matter of knee jerk reaction microseconds.... thanks to gamer reflexes... but that's not happening on the Shadow. On the Shadow you're plowing right into what is stopped in front of you. It drives more like a car than a motorcycle. That is my impression so far. The more I ride it, the more I'll get accustom to maintaining much greater separation with other traffic.
It’s funny, I saw this video a year ago while looking into buying an import cruiser as my first bike. Once I owned it for about 6 months, my parents moved up to Arizona and I’ve been dying to ride my bike there and record it. Getting recommended this video again, i’m realizing they moved pretty near to where you made the video so this whole time i’ve been subconsciously destined to recreate this video without realizing it lol.
I used to think that my SV650S with the aftermarket Leo Vince exhaust sounded good (it does), but now that I have a Shadow with the V&H short shots on it? That sounds frigging sublime.
Faz falta numa viagem.
Ok!!!...LOVE IT!!!... whenever I can find some twisty roads here in Detroit Michigan and upper Michigan I ride my 2001 Honda Shadow ACE750 like a sport bike, scraping pigs the whole time LOL
hi I am picking up my Honda Shadow 2007 with carb and vance hines pipes, gel seats etc. ITs about 34k at $4500-00. Its certified. Is that ok for a 15 year old bike? What problems can I have with acarburetor engine?
@@maxxima78 I think it's worth it! Even if it might be a bit pricey, I'd sell my own bike for no less than 4.5k myself. Mint condition and all the upgrades and all. I got a comfy mustang seat with a back rest which helps. You will really enjoy riding this bike, I didnt like chrome until I bought this bike.
Any tips for me on carb adjustment? I have a VT750DC. Guy I bought it from str8 piped it. I get burbles on hard decel. Tonight I drilled out the carb to adjust the fuel mix, turned it 1 half turn and the idle up a bit and it still burbles on decel. I tried a whole turn and it still didn’t sound great
Hey man, bike sounds freaking awesome!!! I’m wondering which Vance and Hines pipes you have, I have a 2003 Honda VT750 and would love for my bike to sound like that
Great news! They all sound great (Cobra, Vance/Hines, even a straight pipe/muffler delete) because the RC50E motor already sounds great from the factory :) If I could give any advice, I'd say go with which ever option you have get for the least amount of money/looks the best for what you're looking for
Description even says... Vance and Hines. If you look at his other vids... you'll even know... Short Shots Like honestly... do you read at all before asking people for information that is available?
@@Strino78 Vance and Hines is just a brand name. That’s like someone asking what Flowmaster muffler they got on their car. And then getting “it’s a Flowmaster”. IF you can’t provide a helpful, respectful comment, then DON’T comment. It’s that simple dude.
Hey man, I have the same motorcycle and I recently purchased those crash bars. I have troubles when I change gears because it seems like the crash bars are too closed to the shifter, my foot do not fit well, are you having any trouble with that? Also, where did you get the exhausted? It sounds killer.
How is this for a first bike? I am taking the MSF next month and want to get a cruiser. Would this be too big and heavy for a beginner bike? I am 5”7’ and 160 pounds
I have the same bike with the same pipes and my bike seems to cut out past 1/4 1/8 and I gots to use my choke to get anywhere "fast" it it cut and bogs did u need to rejet the carb?
Little question, I bought the same bike with vance and hines exhaust. It backfires also when I accelerate and let go the throttle is blasts. Is it normal?
I picked up an 06 Shadow Aero VT 750. I'm a beginner rider. The only experience I have is a training course I took. I absolutely love the bike. I Don't think a 750 is too much for a beginner at all. Just take it easy at first and practice slow speed maneuvering. It's worth taking a training course.
I was thinking about getting one of these for my first Bike, I hear alot of good things about them! They are great for the price and they are reliable, would anyone recommend the Shadow for a beginner bike? Let me know.
I own an 06 Aero Spirit Shadow and it is AMAZING. . . flawlessly smooth and looks great (you will get countless compliments when you explain it's not a "full sized cruiser") Hell, if it makes you happy do it! I did as my first real road-bike ever almost brand new from OG owner at 2500 miles (his wife made him sell it because he was inept and *touched* it down in a parking lot). Feels bad man. . . but THANKS for the amazing deal on a crazy cash value but LEGENDARY value looking bike. It has a timeless classic swept look (or it did in 2006, I guess IDK about today), but a 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit is like a beginners dream for cruisers!
I guess I can't speak for later models, but the 06' has a VERY forgiving wide stance and slow to roll in until max turn radi. where it grabs very hard. Very low seat height at 30.5 inches IIRC. It has sufficient power for a grown man on interstates, and is very economical in operating costs. My only complaint is if your a BIG BOI with tall legs, your knees can hit the standard bars in a tight turn, I'm speaking like 6'+ though. It also is VERY quiet (which is a good thing, Honda makes exceptional mufflers) but I wanted a bit more sound and power and am currently throwing on a V&H pipeset. All said and done, I would give it a 8.5/10 for a beginners bike. Not underwhelming at all, but teaches you some ropes and looks COOL AF while doing so!!!! *edit, from his groin forward everything in the vid it the SAME EXACT bike, yes you will love it *unless the rare exception your like 6'6"*
I have a 2007 Spirit that I learned on and it's done me well. Heavy for a learner but you won't feel the weight at speed. It's not too hard to manage it for the exams, either. At the time, I could have sworn I could take the
It depends on the style of seat that is equipped on the motorcycle. Most people who want a comfortable ride install a "Touring Seat". Touring seats allow less pressure on the glutes and lower back.
why do you keep weaving back and forth? were you drinking before this ride, or your an ex sailor not used to solid ground. nice bike and sound, i just don't ride that way. seems kinda weird.
swervy mgee lol also that thing sounds great but I think the fuel air screws might need a little adjusting not much at all though, if you haven't already done it that is
The sound is great! I love the bike! However, riding past that white truck without making any effort to reduce speed in the event that the driver may pull out in front of you is foolish! Then again, improper riding gear is even more foolish...
