1. Teodora Alonzo played a crucial role in shaping Jose Rizals perspective and ideas during his younger years. She was a highly educated woman and taught in Rizal a strong sense of patriotism, love for education, and moral values. Teodora's influence on Rizal can be observed through her teachings, her encouragement of his intellectual pursuits. She taught him to read at a young age and encouraged his love of learning. Rizal quickly advanced beyond his fellow classmates standard education under her teaching and developed a deep passion for knowledge and critical thinking. Making Rizal has a passion on loving the country and have a critical mind on thinking beyond an ordinary at his age. 2. Paciano served as a mentor, guide, and role model to Jose, imparting valuable lessons and ideals that would greatly impact his future endeavors Paciano's influence on Jose Rizal's perspective can be seen in their witnessed firsthand the mistreatment of Filipinos by the Spanish authorities, teaching Rizal a strong sense of nationalism and a desire to fight for justice and equality. The influence of Paciano can also be seen at the famous works of RIzal the "El FIlibusterismo and Noli me Tangere" where they fight injustices inflicted on Filipinos and advocate for revolution under the Spaniards 3. I think the most influential in molding Dr. Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a little child was his mother, Teodora Alonzo Realonda. Because his mother is his first teacher, she is the one who taught Dr. Jose Rizal how to read and write properly, she also taught him mathematics, she is also the one who opened Dr. Jose Rizal's eyes to the world around him, he also learned how to improve and grow himself and how important money is from his mother. Teodora Alonzo is a very supportive and caring mother to his son Dr. Jose Rizal, she did all she can to her child like all mother's do. That's why Dr. Jose Rizal became a very passionate and refined person and eventually become our national hero. I think if Dr. Jose Rizal got a different mother he wouldn't be known and be called as our national hero today. Yes. CABATAC (A07)

1.) Teodora Alonzo was influential in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child, she was his mother and his first teacher. His mother showed him how important education is, she instilled in him that education was very important and should be recognized because it is the one thing that no one can be stole from us. This idea and perspective was can be seen in Jose Rizal because of his outstanding grades in Ateneo and UST. We can also see his perseverance on gaining knowledge and wisdom by studying in big schools but he also studied outside of our country. He just proved his hunger for knowledge with his dedication. Teodora Alonzo also ingrained to Rizal her deep love for our country and we saw how Rizal did his best to achieve the freedom that we deserve by studying and Europe to observe liberalism there. He fought the Spaniards through the use of his knowledge even if it will cost his life just to achieve our freedom. 2.) Paciano was the older brother of Jose Rizal, he has also influenced Jose Rizal in his perspective and ideas when he was a child. As Paciano being the older brother of Jose Rizal, he became a role model to him and gave him guidance when Jose Rizal was a child. Paciano guided Jose Rizal and shared his wisdom to him, he also accompanied him when Jose Rizal went to Ateneo which shows that Paciano was supportive in his studies and shows him how important education is. He influenced him to study hard because he recognized the intelligence of Jose Rizal and what he could be in the future if he will use his intelligence and improve it by studying. Jose Rizal's patriotism was Paciano's influence, he told Jose about the execution of the GomBurZa and he opened his eyes to the reality how Spaniards are abusing the Filipinos, and by this, Jose Rizal got the determination to fight for his country by using his knowledge, wisdom, and a pen. 3.) 1. Teodora Alonzo instilled a strong sense of nationalism and love for the country to Jose Rizal. She taught him the importance of education and hard work. As a kid, Rizal was captivated by her mother's stories of the history and the heroic deeds of the past. She taught him how to read and write at a young age despite the authorities prohibited it. This inspired Rizal to be a writer and intellectual. 2. Paciano Rizal strongly advocated for reform and social justice and influenced Rizal to inherit the same values. He taught Rizal to question the authorities and not just to agree on anything. Paciano was a model of selflessness and sacrifice as he gave up on his dream to support his family. He also encouraged Rizal to study abroad because he believed that it would expose him to new ideas and perspective that he could use to help our country. 3.Yes Loyola,A18

1. The most influential in molding Rizal's perspective and ideas was his mother, Teodora Alonzo, as we all know Teodora was his first teacher, he taught his son very neatly and properly as he grew up to be an intelligent person. When Rizal was just only 5 years old, he already learned how to read and write, Teodora was there to guide and teach Rizal by reading stories such as The Story of the Moth. Rizal grew up as an intelligent and kind person just like his mother, and that proves to us that Teodora did her very best just for her child to grow up beautifully and properly. We individuals can very much relate when it comes to our mother being our first teacher. Our mothers taught us how to talk and properly treat others with politeness, and they used to introduce us to what it is like in the real world. Without his mother, Rizal's personality wouldn't be complete as Teodora had a massive help and impact on Rizal as well as his family. 2.YES. BALBENTA, A01

1. In my opinion, the person who was the most influential in molding the perspective and principles of Dr. Jose Rizal when he was a child was his mother, Teodora Alonzo. His mother was his first teacher. She was the one who taught Rizal the values and conduct that a person must have. It didn't take long for him to realize the significance of time as life's most valuable gift because she taught him never to waste a single second. Teodora Alonzo has a vast effect on Rizal's life, for she influences him in the virtue of the world, which includes injustice and intolerance, which also inspires Rizal to the wonders of freedom and self-choice. His mother instilled in him the importance of self-improvement and how to become a righteous individual by not giving up on education on his dreams. Above all, I can say that his mother became his inspiration, and without Teodora Alonzo's teachings and obedience, Rizal would not be the person we used to know. 2. Yes. Bañocia (A06)

Of all the persons who had the greatest influence on Rizal’s growth as a person was none other than his mother Teodora Alonso. It was she who opened his heart and eyes to the world around him, with all its poetry and soul, as well as its injustice and bigotry. Throughout his brief life, Rizal proved to be his mother’s son, as he constantly strive to keep the lessons she taught him. His mother was his first teacher, and from her he learned how to read and to value reading as a means for learning and spending his time meaningfully. It did not take long before he realized that time is life’s most precious gift, because she taught him never to waste a single second of it. As a student in Spain he became the most the smartest among students. He never missed a class despite his activities as a Propaganda leader, or an exam, despite having to take it on an empty stomach. By his mother as example, he inspired his companions. From his mother he learned the value of improving himself. Growing up, he took pains to understand the logic of mathematics, to draw, to write poems, to paint, and sculpt. All of these he earned not only glory but also the fear of his enemies. ENDEREZ, A06

1. Teodora Alonzo is not only the first person to teach her, but also her mother. The values of discipline, fairness, and kindness were instilled in Rizal by his mother. Most importantly, she instilled in them a sense of respect for Filipinos. Rizal was inspired to begin writing poetry by her mother, who was also a poet. Dona Teodora has a gentle attitude and a heart of gold. She saw Rizal's talent for writing poetry and encouraged him to pursue it. Influenced by her mother, Rizal continued to pen poetry that called attention to the injustices committed against Filipinos and inspired the Filipino people to take action. His mother and his country are the inspiration for everything he achieves, despite his modest stature. She made sure that Rizal's talents were not wasted by giving him with a tutor. Because of this, Rizal's enthusiasm increased, because he realized that he had the backing of his peers. This ultimately led to Rizal's independence and success, making him a key figure in the fight for independence from Spain's colonial rule. 2. The influence of Paciano Rizal on Jose Rizal's early development as a thinker and writer cannot be underestimated. Paciano inspired Jose Rizal to fight for Filipino human liberties and rights. Paciano belonged to the Propaganda Movement, a faction of Filipinos living abroad in Europe that advocated for political change in the form of Spanish colonial rule. Paciano's influence on Jose Rizal can be seen in his choice to pursue higher education in Europe. Paciano supported Jose Rizal financially and morally when the latter told him of his wish to study in Europe. Paciano had a significant impact on Jose Rizal, particularly during his formative years, encouraging him to pursue a career in nationalist and reformist politics. The influence of Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's older brother, was formative during Jose's formative years. He introduced Jose Rizal to the liberal and nationalist views that would form the basis of his writings and turn him become a nationalist and reformist. 3. YES MOSTIZO, A18

1.) Teodora Alonzo's influence in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child was very vital as she plays a significant role as a mother to Rizal. She instilled in him important values, such as a love for education, a sense of justice, and nationalism. Teodora Alonzo herself was an educated woman and deeply passionate about the welfare of her family and country. She recognized her son's potential and took great care of his upbringing. An example of Rizal's mother's influence on him is despite their having challenges and limitations due to their financial situation, she encouraged Rizal to study diligently and supported his pursuit of knowledge. Her belief in the power of education to uplift individuals and societies greatly influenced Rizal's views on education. He grew up valuing education as a means to bring about positive change and empowerment, which later became one of the core themes in his writings and advocacy. 2.) Paciano Rizal's influence in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child was very vital as well because he is his older brother and he played a crucial role in shaping Rizal's perspective and ideas during his childhood. Paciano served as a mentor, guide, and source of inspiration for his younger brother. He had a profound influence on Rizal's moral and intellectual development. One example of Paciano Rizal's influence on Jose Rizal can be seen in his involvement in the martyrdom of the Gomburza priests. Paciano witnessed the execution of these priests, who were falsely accused of treason by the Spanish authorities. This event deeply impacted Paciano, and he shared the story with his younger brother, Jose Rizal. The incident fueled Rizal's growing awareness of social injustice and oppression, and it inspired him to fight for reforms and advocate for the rights of his fellow Filipinos. 3.) Yes -DE GUIA,B43

Of all the persons who influence Jose Rizal, the most influential person in molding Jose Rizal’s perspective and ideas when he was a child is Teodora Alonzo, Jose Rizal’s mother. Jose Rizal’s mother was known for being a disciplinarian and hard-working mother. Jose Rizal’s mother was the one who opened his eyes and heart to the world and environment around him. Teodora Alonzo was the first teacher Jose Rizal had, she taught Jose Rizal various things. From all the lessons Teodora Alonzo gave, I think the one that impacted Jose Rizal the most is the primacy of improving oneself, this was the reason Jose Rizal was able to learn write poems, draw, sculpt, paint. She was the one who molded Jose Rizal on how he decided to become a pacifist. His mother, Teodora Alonzo’s gift, the lessons and knowledge that was bestowed to Jose Rizal had the greatest impact since his mother was involved greatly in Jose Rizal’s life. Yes DACANAY (A01)

1. Teodora Alonzo was influential in molding Rizal's ideas and perspectives. Her impact on Rizal's early years was so profound that he referred to her as his first teacher and credited her with inspiring his patriotism. Teodora Alonzo's ardent advocacy for education is one example of her influence on Rizal's perspectives and ideas. She believed strongly in the potential of education to uplift individuals and communities, and she supported Rizal in continuing his studies despite the obstacles he faced. She taught him to read and write at a young age and made certain he obtained the greatest education possible, even sending him to the prestigious Ateneo Municipal in Manila to study. This emphasis on education had a major impact on Rizal's worldview, prompting him to become a proponent of school reform in the Philippines. He believed that education was critical to national development and worked to encourage universal access to education as well as the use of Filipino in schools. 2. Paciano Rizal was influential in molding Rizal's ideas and perspectives. Paciano Rizal introduced Jose Rizal to the movement's principles, and he was strongly urged to continue his education since he saw it as crucial to their success. Paciano Rizal's teachings also cultivated Jose Rizal's admiration and affection for his native Philippines. An example of how Paciano Rizal influenced Jose Rizal is evident in his work "Noli Me Tangere". In the book, Jose Rizal details the mistreatment of Filipinos at the hands of the Spanish colonial authorities and the friars. Paciano Rizal's involvement with the Propaganda Movement and his exposure to the brutality of the colonial government served as the inspiration for this book. By writing the book, Jose Rizal hoped to galvanize the Filipino people to stand up for their independence. In conclusion, Jose Rizal's intellectual and moral growth was influenced by Paciano Rizal's support for political and social changes, his patriotism, and his mentorship, which led to Jose being one of the most significant figures in Philippine history. 3. 1. When we were born into this world, the first person that we trust is our mother. As a baby, we cry when we’re hungry, when we’re hurt, when we don’t know how to express thoughts, etc. By the time it happens, the first person that we or other people look for is our mother as they know what we want and what we feel. That is what we call the “mothers love”. As we grow up, most of us have a mother or a mother figure, to begin with. In the case of Dr. Jose Rizal, it was his mother. Mrs. Teodora Alonzo was Rizal first teacher. She molds and disciplines Rizal in his young years, and that is reflected in how Rizal grew up as a child. She didn’t let Rizal's intelligence become a waste and supported him through the means of providing a tutor. This led to the improvement of Rizal's passion as he knows that other people support him. And later, this is the reason why Rizal became successful on his own and he became an instrument on how we free from the Spain Colonizers. 2. Yes Herrera - A07

1. For me, Teodora Alonzo, Dr. Jose Rizal's mother, was the most influential in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child. We now all know that his first teacher was his own mother Teodora, and she was the one who opened Rizal's eyes and influenced him to learn about reading and cherishing one's time. Teodora even brought Dr. Jose Rizal to maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz in order to study and learn and by that he became a better writer and speaker. His mother taught him to value time, work, and not waste money, unlike the others. Teodora taught Rizal how to improve himself and help people who are in need. Rizal learned to obey his mother's guidance and for me, she was the reason why Dr. Jose Rizal grew up to be the person and hero he was. 2.Yes Ladrido, A01

1. Teodora Alonzo was a significant person in Jose Rizal's life, affecting his perspective and views from a young age. She instilled in Rizal a great appreciation for the information and the power of education as a highly educated woman in a period when women were not granted the same opportunities as men. She pushed him to pursue a variety of courses and languages, such as Spanish, English, and Tagalog. Teodora Alonzo's involvement in the Propaganda Movement, an association of Filipino intellectuals who attempted to foster awareness about the injustices of Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines, was one significant instance of Teodora Alonzo's influence on Rizal. Teodora Alonzo was an activist who frequently discussed political and social concerns with her son. Her fight for the Filipino people's rights and her confidence in the power of collective action to affect change inspired Rizal to become a key role in the Philippine Revolution against Spanish rule. 2. Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's elder brother, influenced his younger brother's perspective and views from an early age. Paciano was recognized for his nationalist and anti-colonialist ideas, which he imparted to Jose and instilled in him a strong sense of Filipino patriotism. Paciano's participation in the Propaganda Movement, a group of Filipino intellectuals who attempted to raise awareness about the wrongdoing of Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines, was one significant example of Paciano's effect on Jose. Paciano was a major member of the movement who aggressively strove to bring others on board. Jose was inspired to become a key figure in the Philippine Revolution against Spanish authority by his advocacy for the rights of the Filipino people and his conviction in the power of collective action to affect change. 1. Jose Rizal's mother, Teodora Alonzo, was influential in shaping his perspective and ideas during his formative years. She instilled in him a strong sense of nationalism, a love of education, and a strong sense of justice and equality. One example of Teodora Alonzo's influence on Jose Rizal can be seen in the fact that she taught him to read and write at a young age. This provided him with an advantage in school and allowed him to learn more about his country and its history. Teodora also taught Jose Rizal the value of standing up for what is right and just, no matter what the consequences were. Furthermore, Jose Rizal was inspired by Teodora Alonzo's patriotism and love for her country. She was a member of La Liga Filipina, a civic organization that sought to unite Filipinos to fight for their rights and freedom. Jose Rizal, who was only a child at the time, witnessed his mother's commitment to the cause and her unwavering belief in her beliefs. This experience had a profound impact on him and inspired him to pursue his own nationalist ideals. 2. Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's older brother, was instrumental in shaping his younger brother's perspective and ideas as a child. Paciano had a significant influence on Jose and served as a role model for him to emulate. Paciano instilled in Jose the importance of education and standing up for one's beliefs. He also taught Jose about the harsh realities of life under Spanish colonial rule, which influenced Jose's subsequent writings and activism. 1. The most influential and the one who had a caused a huge impact upon the career, personality and life of Dr. Jose Rizal in my opinion was no other than his great mother, A. Teodora Alonzo. It was her mother who first opened his eyes and his heart to the world around him. She became his first teacher through out his early days. It was through her that Dr. Jose Rizal has learned to read, which as a result, it came to the point that he truly values reading as it means of learning and spending one's time as meaningfully as it is. He learned the value of self-improvement from his mother, and as he grew older, he worked hard to understand the concept of mathematics, to write poems, to draw, to sculpt, and to paint. Teodora Alonso, as a well-educated and passionate advocate of education, played a crucial role as one of the first teachers in Jose Rizal's life. As a child, Rizal was profoundly influenced by his mother's teachings and example. Among the stories she shared with him, one of the most memorable was that of the moth. Through this tale, Teodora taught her son about the risks of blind obedience and devotion, warning him against blindly accepting authority without questioning its validity. This lesson would stay with Rizal for life, informing his views on critical thinking and individual responsibility. This story left a deep impression on young Rizal and it became a recurring theme in his work. In his novel "Noli Me Tangere," he used the story of the moth to criticize the blind obedience of the people towards the Spanish colonial authorities. Rizal believed that just like the moth, the people were blindly following the Spanish colonial government, despite the obvious dangers and consequences. Teodora's teachings and example had a profound impact on her son's perspective and ideas, shaping his views on education, justice, and social issues. The story of the moth is just one example of the many lessons and values that Teodora instilled in her son. Rizal's success as a writer, a doctor, and a revolutionary can be attributed in large part to the guidance and inspiration he received from his mother. Paciano was highly educated and involved in political activities, exposing Rizal to various social and political issues that influenced his work as an activist and writer. The execution of the Gomburza martyrs in 1872, which Paciano shared with Rizal, was a pivotal event that left a profound impression on his brother. The execution of the three Filipino priests by the Spanish colonial government stirred Rizal's outrage towards the injustices and abuses of the colonial government, leading him to become an advocate for social and political change in the Philippines. Apart from sharing historical events, Paciano also served as a role model for his younger brother. As an older sibling and a respected member of the community, Paciano instilled in Rizal the values of education, critical thinking, and civic responsibility. Through his guidance and mentorship, Paciano helped shape Rizal's worldview and inspired him to pursue his passion for writing and activism. In conclusion Paciano played a crucial role in shaping Rizal's perspectives and ideas through his political involvement and mentorship. Rizal's work as an activist and writer can be attributed to the influence of his older brother's guidance and support. YES Ramirez A18

1.One of the people who, in my opinion, had the greatest influence on Doctor Jose Rizal's perspective and thoughts as a child was his own mother, Teodora Alonzo. His mother served as his first teacher, source of inspiration, and role model. She is the woman and mother who shaped the spirit and thoughts of Doctor Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. Also, she was the one who had an impact on our national hero's favorite story, which was subsequently found to be eerily identical to what occurred in his own life. When Dr. Jose Rizal was a little older, his family relocated him to Binan Laguna, the town where his mother was born, so that he might continue his education and achieve success. We are well aware that Dr. Jose Rizal's mother served as his primary source of inspiration for pursuing a career in medicine. He wished to be able to provide for and heal his mother's needs. 1.Jose Rizal was known for being a bright person even when he was only a child. He possessed such creativeness and was gifted with intelligence and some other talents. However, without the help of his mother he won’t be able to enhance and mold his talents and share them with the world. Thus, I do believe that his mother, Teodora Alonzo, plays a huge role in Dr. Jose Rizal’s life by being the most influential person who helped him to see and understand the different perspective of life back when he was a child. We all know that his mother was his first teacher meaning, all the knowledge, wisdom, and insight he has came from his mother. There are ample of learnings that we can get from our mothers, especially those lessons that schools do not teach. Our mothers can open our hearts and minds in their own different way that only they can make us realize the importance of seeing what is beyond in a certain situation, which indicates that what we see is not the whole part but only a portion of a whole. Likewise, Dr. Jose Rizal’s mother puts an effort to teach and influence him on how to be a good person and with that we have known him for being our National Hero who fought for the Filipinos by the use of his wit and knowledge. 2. His mother was his first teacher and based on the lecture, she taught Rizal the basic but most essential tools in life; which are reading and writing. With his mothers' aid, he was able to read and write at the age of five, which is a very early age for a kid to be able to do those things. Despite his sisters' "pang-aasar" he knows and his parents know that he is someone special. He is special and different from other people because of his skills that were developed early in his age; reading, writing, molding, and poem writing are just some of them. We can account the contribution of Maestro Cruz because he was his first actual teacher where he easily excelled among his classmates, but the initial contribution of his mother is incomparable with others. 2.) I think the most influential in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child was Justiniano Aquino Cruz who was a native maestro in his mother's hometown of Binan. At an early age based on the video, Dr. Jose Rizal who has been sent to Binan for his schooling under his maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz. Where Dr. Jose Rizal excelled over his other classmates, he became better at writing and speaking Spanish. His tutor or maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz was his second parent who guided and taught him many things in education and life. It is mentioned that he idolized Napoleon Bonaparte where he molded clay into a little statue of Napoleon, which was also one of the ones that gave him the influence to be a hero someday. But I think what gave him more influence was the teacher that he was with when he was young. It is normal for you to idolize someone who can inspire you, especially children. But the person who will awaken you in many things in life is probably the one you have been with for a long time. And I believe that Dr. Jose Rizal while studying and staying with his maestro was also learning something in life because he is smart. Not only academically learning but also in the broader mind and a lot of ideas in life. Yes Balubar (A07)

1.) She was influential in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child because it was said in the youtube video that Teadora Alonzo was his first teacher of Rizal. It was also mentioned that his mother used to tell him a story about the moth which has a great moral lesson that he may apply in life. I am certain that there are more stories that have a great moral lesson that his mother told him. Teodora Alonzo was a well-educated, experienced woman who taught her kids the importance of education, hard work, and fairness. She had a big impact on Rizal, and he often said that she was the reason he was so patriotic and wanted to fight for the rights of his fellow Filipinos. Rizal's works and writings are evidence of the influence of his mother, his works are commonly for Filipinos making them realize the importance of our rights and the truth behind the treatment of the colonizers. 2.) His brother is also influential to him, Paciano was an important figure in Rizal's life, and he had a considerable impact on the development of Rizal's personality, intellect, and sense of nationalism. His own experiences as a rebel served as one of the primary means by which he imparted his worldview and beliefs to Rizal. Paciano got imprisoned and tortured as a result of his participation in the 1872 Cavite Mutiny, which was an unsuccessful revolt against the Spanish colonial government of the Philippines. This event had a major impact on Paciano, who in turn would have an effect on Rizal's later political activism and revolutionary drive. Paciano studied fine arts, and he told Rizal that he should do the same. He gave Rizal books and other things that helped him learn more and become more interested in the world. Rizal became a well-educated person because his brother helped him become interested in learning. He went to college in Europe, where he learned more about politics, society, and history and deepened his understanding of them. 3.) YES.

1. I personally think that Teodora Alonzo was the most influential in molding Jose Rizal’s perspective and ideas when he was a child because she was his first teacher. He learned how to read and write before the age of 5 because of her. He learned to love and appreciate reading as a form of learning and as a meaningful recreational activity. She also taught him to value time which he readily practiced when he went to Spain to study. Also, she taught him the importance of continually improving oneself and as a result, he learned and practiced a lot of hobbies that he would soon use to help the nation when he grew up. Besides that, she also taught and exposed him to labor and to always see the importance of hard-work and camaraderie. She also taught him to be generous and to always be willing to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate. Also, she taught him to value earned money, to be thrifty, and to be responsible enough in handling it. Most importantly, Jose learned about obedience with his mother’s story entitled “The Story of the Moth (Gamo-gamo)” which he struggled to abide by with everything that the Church had done during those times. All in all, these lessons helped Rizal with his everyday life in Europe and when he went back here to help the Filipinos. 2. 1. For me, his mother Teodora Alonzo had the greatest influence in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child. Rizal's mother was her first teacher, from her he learned how to read and as a result of this, reading is valued as a way of learning and using one's time productively, she teaches him everything he knows when he was younger. She was the one who first opened his eyes and heart to the reality around him, with all of its soul and poetry as well as its prejudice and injustice. Also, Teodora taught in him the importance of manual labor, self-reliance, and business. And by sharing with others, she taught him kindness and how to support people in the world who had less material goods. So, his mother really had the most significant role in his life. He would not be able to do the things that he accomplished without the help of his mother. 2. Yes. (Tabafunda, A06)

Ramilo, B43 1) Jose Rizal's mother, Teodora Alonzo, was very influential in forming his viewpoint and thoughts during his early years. She was a well-educated, powerful woman who taught Rizal the importance of education, patriotism, and a strong sense of national identity. The mentoring and support provided by Teodora Alonzo greatly influenced Rizal's growth into a national hero and a leading figure in the Philippine independence struggle. Teodora Alonzo's encouragement of Rizal's academic and intellectual endeavors is one illustration of her influence on him. She made sure that Rizal had the greatest education possible while being a woman of her day who understood the value of education. Teodora Alonzo made significant sacrifices for her son, including selling her own farm to pay for his study abroad expenses. During his time studying in Europe, Rizal was exposed to a wide range of ideologies and cultures, which had a significant impact on the development of his nationalist beliefs and his dedication to the cause of social justice. Teodora Alonzo's unwavering commitment to his education and her faith in the power of information made this exposure possible. It is impossible to exaggerate Teodora Alonzo's influence on Jose Rizal's thinking and worldview. She lay the groundwork for Rizal's intellectual and patriotic growth, ultimately molding him into the national hero and significant figure he became through her support of education, her cultivation of his sense of national identity, and her stories of tyranny. 2) During his formative years, Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's older brother, was extremely influential in forming Jose Rizal's viewpoint and views. Jose looked up to Paciano as a mentor and role model, helping him grow both intellectually and personally. Jose Rizal was greatly influenced by him, and his beliefs, national identity, and dedication to social justice were all shaped by him. The fact that Paciano had a deep dedication to the Filipino people and their struggle for independence was one of the major factors that influenced Jose Rizal. Jose was made aware of the abuses experienced by their fellow countrymen during Spanish colonial control by Paciano, who was a prominent member of the Filipino nationalism movement. He imparted his wisdom and experiences, which shaped Jose's perception of the difficult living conditions faced by Filipinos. Jose Rizal's viewpoint was also affected by Paciano's participation in covert groups like the Katipunan that sought to oust Spanish colonial control. Jose gained a strong sense of nationalism and the will to fight for the rights and welfare of his fellow Filipinos as a result of the talks and actions that took place within these groups. Jose Rizal's viewpoint and beliefs were greatly influenced by Paciano Rizal. Jose's awareness of social injustices, his nationalism, and his development as a national hero were all moulded by Paciano's dedication to the Filipino cause, support for Jose's education, and mentorship. It is impossible to overestimate Paciano's influence on Jose Rizal's life and later contributions to the independence movement in the Philippines. 3) Yes

1.) During his early years, Teodora Alonzo, the mother of Philippine national hero Jose Rizal, had an important part in shaping his viewpoint and views. She had a significant impact on Rizal's character development and intellectual progress, instilling virtues like nationalism, perseverance, and a thirst for knowledge in him. Teodora Alonzo, noted for her wisdom and strength of character, understood the value of education and encouraged Rizal's quest of knowledge. She believed in the ability of education to improve both individuals and nations. For example, she personally taught Rizal to read and write at a young age, cultivating his intellectual curiosity and establishing the groundwork for his future achievements. In addition, Teodora Alonzo instilled in Rizal sensitivity and social conscience. She exposed him to the social injustices and oppression felt by Filipinos during the occupation of the Spaniards. This bore fruit to Rizal's unwavering love and compassion towards his country and men. 2.) Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's older brother, was instrumental in shaping his younger brother's viewpoint and views during the early years of his life. Paciano was Jose's mentor, advisor, and source of inspiration, shaping his character and cultivating his desire for social justice and independence. Paciano, being an enthusiastic reader and nationalist, introduced Jose to a vast selection of books and ideas that motivated his intellectual development. 1. Jose Rizal's mother had a significant influence on how he was raised and developed as a writer and thinker. She taught him values that would eventually shape his opinions and beliefs, such as fearlessness, independence, and a strong sense of justice. His mother gave him an insightful moral lesson. Teodora Alonzo was an educated, sophisticated woman who instilled in her children the values of learning, perseverance, and fairness. She had an influential impact on Rizal, who frequently referred to her as the inspiration behind his strong sense of patriotism and desire to defend the rights of his fellow Filipinos. She showed him how to use his time wisely by encouraging him to view reading as a means of expanding his knowledge. Because his mother was literate and could speak Spanish better than he could, Rizal claims that she gave him his dreamy disposition and love of poetry. 2. Patriot and reformer Paciano instilled similar views in his younger brother. Rizal was affected by Paciano's exposure to the injustices and cruelty the Filipino people experienced under Spanish colonial rule. Paciano took involved in a variety of nationalist and reformist activities. He talked to his younger brother about his findings and observations. Rizal may have picked up some knowledge from his brother Paciano Rizal regarding the unfair treatment of our country and the state of the world. These occurrences may have opened Rizal's eyes to what he needs to do as he matures. Because of the influence of his brother, Rizal was able to acquire an outstanding education. Rizal was taught the importance of education, critical thinking, and civic responsibility by Paciano. Paciano influenced Rizal's outlook and encouraged him to pursue his passion for literature and activism through his guidance and mentorship. 3. Yes MALABANAN, B43

1. What became more influential on Dr. Jose Rizal when he was a child most likely was Teodora Alonzo, his mother. His mother was his first teacher. Like other children, their mother was their first teacher in their life. She taught him how to read and write. He awakened her son to the real world as she led him. His mom is the most positive and significant influence on his life. Teodora Alonzo was the first person to teach him how to pray, read, and write. His mother enjoyed poetry and encouraged him to compose it. Rizal joined the realm of literature with the assistance of this, which led him to write masterpieces such as El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere, which ignited a revolution. Like many Filipino boys, Jose Rizal had fond recollections of his youth. He grew up in a loving environment, surrounded by parental love, imbued with family joys, and sanctified by prayers. He spent his childhood in the middle of such a serene, sophisticated, God-fearing household. 1) My answer for this question is similar to a question on a previous coursework, Teodora Alonzo had a great affinity for the arts, notably music and literature, which she would pass on to her children. She also made a greatest impact on Rizal's development, she taught him discipline, justice, and compassion. Since she was Rizal's first teacher, Teodora Alonzo became Rizal's inspiration and a role model to the point that Rizal manage to inherit his mother's practical temperament, stoicism, self-sacrifice, temperament of a dreamer, and fondness of poetry. 2) Based on what I've reseach more about Paciano, he served as Rizal’s guardian while the latter was studying in Spain. Paciano was a huge influence to Rizal’s life. He would constantly send money to Spain and update his younger brother of the friars’ abuses in the Philippines through letters. He also supported the Katipunan and later on became one of the generals of its Revolutionary Army. I believe in the saying that our parents are our first teachers, and it is the same in Rizal's case. His mother was responsible in teaching him and opening his eyes with the world around him and as well as the issues during that time. Teodora Alonzo also helped Rizal in finding the love for writings and poetries that made him famous during his time as of his remarkable works. She also taught him the value of every second in his life and how he should manage his time wisely, this then made Rizal create a meaningful life of his own. By this, Rizal did not waste any single moment in his life which made him inspire a lot of people around him that despite of the many schedules, he never missed any of it. 1. Of all the choices given, I think, the most influential in molding Dr. Jose Rizal’s perspective and ideas when he was a child is his mother, his first teacher, Dona Teodora Alonzo. From previous discussions, it was stated that Jose Rizal inherited some of his mother’s qualities, which I think also molded Rizal’s morals, values, and stand in life. With this thought in mind, his mother certainly made an impact during his childhood days. He also literally lived his favorite story which his mother told him during his childhood, which was the story of the moth. We can conclude from all of these that Teodora Alonzo made a huge impact in his life, especially during his childhood which also reflected his choices and actions during his adulthood. 1). Jose Rizal's mother, Teodora Alonso, was extremely influential in shaping his perspective and views during his early years. The highly educated Teodora Alonso had a significant impact on her son's education and upbringing. She was renowned for being stern and orderly, and she instilled in her kids a strong sense of moral principles and patriotism. Jose Rizal was influenced by Teodora Alonso in part because she instilled in him the value of knowledge and reading. In his memoirs, Rizal himself relates how his mother used to read to him and tell him stories. She would also spend money on books for him, even at the expense of their own requirements. In his autobiography, Rizal stated, "All that I am, I owe to my mother, who taught me to read when I was only three years old." Teodora Alonso was a nationalist and an advocate for Philippine independence, in addition. She frequently told her kids tales of Filipino heroes and their battles with Spanish colonialism. As may be seen in his own works as an adult, Rizal was profoundly impacted by his mother's passion for the Philippines and her longing for freedom. In his books "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo," for instance, Rizal showed the harsh reality of colonial life and the necessity for reform in the Philippines. In conclusion, Teodora Alonso had a big impact on Jose Rizal's education and sense of national pride. She cultivated in him a strong sense of discipline, moral principles, and patriotism that would influence his beliefs and worldview as an adult. 2). When Jose Rizal was a young boy, his older brother Paciano had a significant impact on his viewpoint and views. Paciano, the family's eldest member, served as an example for his younger siblings, especially Jose. Paciano's fervent belief in the value of education is one instance of how his thoughts influenced Jose's. The educated Paciano urged his younger brother to acquire a decent education in order to succeed and advance in society. Jose learned from him about the social injustices and inequalities he had seen in their society, and this had a significant influence on the younger Rizal's perspective on the world. Jose's beliefs were greatly influenced by Paciano's engagement in the Philippine Revolution against Spanish colonial control. Jose became increasingly interested in political and social concerns after Paciano, a member of the revolutionary movement, planted seeds of revolution on to Rizal after Paciano witnessed the execution of the Gomburza, which was a common discussion between the brothers. This led to Jose developing his own revolutionary beliefs and writings. Jose's opinions on colonialism and oppression were also heavily influenced by Paciano's interactions with Spanish officials and his eventual imprisonment for his participation in the revolutionary struggle. In fact, Jose was profoundly impacted by Paciano's imprisonment, which may have even served as inspiration for him to pen "Noli Me Tangere," his most well-known composition. Overall, Paciano Rizal had a big impact on his younger brother's beliefs and viewpoints. Jose would be inspired by him to become a key player in the Philippine Revolution and a significant literary voice for Filipino nationalism because of his emphasis on education, social justice, and patriotism. 3). I believe that he taught Rizal not only what you need to learn from school or to expand your knowledge. I believe, Teodora Alonzo also taught Rizal some principles of life. These teachings and guidance from her mother, Teodora Alonzo molded Dr. Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas as he grows. 2) I have mentioned that families are the first ones who will we look up to as a child. Since Paciano Rizal was his elder brother, I believe that there are times that he is amazed and wants to be like his brother someday. Paciano Rizal was active in the revolution even his family that is why I believe that Rizal's perspective was also affected on how his brother's life went on. Rizal might have learned from his brother, Paciano Rizal some things about how our nation was being treated unequally and how is the world going on. These things might have been an eye-opening for Rizal on what he needs to do as he grows up. 1) Teodora Alonzo, Jose Rizal's mother, was influential in shaping his perspective and ideas during his formative years. She instilled in Rizal a strong sense of moral values, a deep love for education, and a firm belief in the power of knowledge to bring about positive change as a highly educated and devoutly religious woman. Teodora Alonzo's encouragement of Rizal's intellectual pursuits and emphasis on the importance of education are two examples of her influence on Rizal's perspective. Teodora recognized Rizal's intellectual potential at a young age and provided him with the resources and support he needed to satisfy his thirst for knowledge. She enrolled him in prestigious schools and made certain he received a well-rounded education. Also, Teodora Alonzo's personal experiences as a victim of injustice influenced Rizal's viewpoint on social inequality and his desire to fight for justice. Rizal's mother was wrongfully accused of poisoning her sister-in-law when he was only eight years old. She spent nearly three years in prison before being acquitted. This traumatic event deeply affected Rizal and brought to light the flaws in the Spanish colonial system, inspiring his later advocacy for reforms and social justice. 2) Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's older brother, was instrumental in shaping his younger sibling's perspective and ideas during his formative years. Paciano's influence on Jose Rizal was instrumental in shaping his character, instilling a strong sense of national identity in him, and in fostering his love for his country. Paciano became a source of inspiration and mentorship for his younger brother through his own experiences and guidance. Paciano's fervent dedication to fighting for the rights and welfare of the Filipino people was a key aspect of his influence on Jose Rizal. He shared his knowledge and experiences with Rizal, instilling a sense of national pride in him and reawakening his desire for justice and independence. The necessity of education, which must begin at a young age, has been demonstrated by Rizal's wisdom. His mother's education gave him the discipline of listening, reading, and learning at home, and he learned the fundamentals of artistic admiration, empathy, and respect for nature. Rizal acquired his intelligence from his mother, Dona Teodora Alonzo Realonda, who supplied all of Rizal's academic support and helped him polish his genuine role in education. She elevated him toward the highest level of combatant in the sphere of human intellectual conflict at the moment. Rizal's delicate love and humanity, tempered by his brilliance, were converted into literature and philosophy triumphs that would later define the fate of the Filipino country. 1. Teodora Alonzo had a great impact on Rizal’s life. She taught conduct, equality, and love to them. Most importantly, she instilled in her kids the value of treating Indios with respect. Later in life, Rizal would use these abilities and his sense of justice to defend his mother, who he loved dearly. She also imparted many valuable life lessons to Rizal, including obedience, self-improvement, kindness, and the worth of money acquired through labor. His eyes and emotions were first opened to the outside world by her. His mother served as his first instructor, teaching him how to read and, as a result, how to value reading as a means of education and meaningful leisure. He was inspired by her to write poetry. She is also responsible for Rizal's accomplishments and his motivation to pursue a career in medicine. She was also the reason behind Rizal’s way of dealing a war in a peaceful way. 2. Jose learned how to read and write, value of reading during hard times, improving oneself, mathematics, write poems, draw, sculpt, paint, and the value of hard earned money. Teodora Alonzo taught Jose basics of subjects and the way of life, by doing so it helped Jose get through a lot of things that the other family members could not. The story of the moth was one of the stories that was told to Jose which also happened to be the future that Jose will face. In conclusion the perspective that Teodora gave to Jose gave so many meanings and enjoyable things to do in life while helping other through self sacrifice. 2.) Yes Cajucom (A07)

1.) In my opinion, among the following people the most influential in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child was his mother Teodora Alonzo, as we all know she was Rizal's first teacher and the one who develop him as a person. She is the one who taught Jose Rizal from the beginning like how she taught him to write, read and value reading as a means of learning and spending his time meaningfully and as far as I remember in my previous subjects about Rizal's life his mother was also the one who taught him improving oneself, comprehend the logic of mathematics, draw, sculpt, paint and especially write poem. So I think the one who influence most Jose Rizal was his mother, the one who mold him from the beginning to be a wonder child although the other said people also help him and inspires him in some different way like Napoleon Bonaparte the one Rizal idolize when he was young. 2.) Jose Rizal also learned the primacy of improving oneself. Not only that but Teodora Alonzo also taught him about valuing hard earned money. Dr. Jose Rizal loves her mother so much above all of that he also learned about obedience from his mother. The knowledge and virtue that Jose Rizal inherited from the people who molded his childhood had a great significance on how he became a hero. I think Teodora Alonzo, Jose Rizal's mother, was the most influential person in molding his perspective and ideas. Her mother was his first teacher. She used literature to open Jose Rizal's eyes and heart. She was also the inspiration why Jose Rizal love writing literature. Teodora Alonzo embedded discipline, equality, and justice in Jose Rizal. He valued all of her mother's teachings and integrate them into his life. In line with this, Jose Rizal even applied it through works. As Rizal's mother and first teacher, I think that Teodora Alonzo was probably the most influential in molding Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child. Alongside academics, she most likely taught him lessons on morals and humanity, thus influencing Rizal's character as a child. It's not uncommon that our parents' beliefs and character influence ours especially in our younger years before we branch out and meet other people whose ideas inspire us. As a child our minds are like a blank slate ready to be filled with knowledge and ideas, and therefore the people who raise us normally have the most opportunity to influence our minds. Rizal's mother possibly inspired him as she spent time schooling him at home, teaching him things that she believes he needs to know. Yes, I watched the whole video. Villena - A07

1. The most influential in molding Jose Rizal’s perspective and ideas among the following was ‘A. Teodora Alonzo’ because of the following reasons; first, Teodora Alonzo was his mother and also his first teacher. She brought her ideals and ways to Rizal and thus, he was able to learn how to read and write before the age of 5 which is quite impressive as I don’t recall myself being able to understand such things or have the ability to comprehend letters at that age. Second, Teodora Alonzo was also fond to poetry and as a mother and a teacher she brought poetry to Rizal which we can say made a very big part to how Rizal became a writer and our hero as his writings focused on meaning with the use of poetry. Not only that she made him love poetry, she also gave Jose Rizal traits that in which are a factor in being a hero, Rizal became a dreamer - a person who dreams for the future, he also became a person capable to self-sacrifice which is displayed for his death for the country. Lastly, your personality and perspective taught to you are always aligned in your early age, yes it may be changed especially when your ideals will contradict one another in the future but it will always be in your mind to consider or to thought. And fortunately, her mother’s ideals and even his surroundings gave him a positive mindset which accumulates to his resume as a hero. 2. Yes. MEDALLA, A06

1.) The most influential in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child was his mother, Teodora Alonzo. With his soul and poetry, she assisted him in comprehending the world. As we know, Doña Teodora was his first teacher and inspired him to fight for his principles and never give up. She instilled in Rizal the value of money from hard work, the importance of being frugal and denying oneself, and keeping a portion of one's wages since life is unpredictable. Thus, despite growing up in luxury and affluence, he learned to save and scrimp. The wrongful arrest of his mother on the suspicion of conspiring to poison a relative, despite the lack of evidence against her, was one of the turning events in his life, which had a tremendous influence on his eventual decision to become a political activist. But what made the arrest even more humiliating was the treatment she received from the police, who forced her to walk from Calamba to the provincial jail in Santa Cruz. She was imprisoned there for two years before being released. All of this she handled with calm and quiet dignity, which Rizal, then a young boy, would recall and imitate in his final moments, right before a firing squad extinguished his important existence. 2.) 1. In my own opinion, Jose Rizal’s mother, Teodora Alonzo, was the most influential in molding his perspective and ideas when he was a child. His mother was his first teacher who exposed him to the realm of literature, he also learned how to read and observe the other side of life that is not seen with the eyes. Rizal learned from his mother pragmatism, self-control, self-sacrifice, and a passion for poetry. She educates him on values that will help him become a good person and flourish in life. She also fostered in her children, especially Rizal, a love of spirituality and ethics by encouraging them to read the Bible. Rizal's first educator was Dona Teodora, who taught him the fundamentals of writing and reading. When he was young, he was educated a plethora of great lessons, including the importance of time. As an outcome, while he studied abroad, he was always on time for his classes, resulting in an amazing academic achievement. Rizal learned to be generous and submissive from his mother as well. When Rizal was still a child, his mother was accused with a charge of scheming to poison a relative resulting in an unjust arrest even though there was a lack of proof against her. This scene made a huge contribution to Rizal’s perspective on how unfair the system is and influence his becoming of a political activist later in life. Additionally, the authorities made Teodora walk 50 kilometers far from Calamba to Santa Cruz. Although it was humiliating, his mother took it all with calmness and dignity which will be remembered and replicated by Rizal through his death in 1896. If I were to base my answer from the lecture video, I would say that the most influential in molding Jose Rizal’s perspective and ideas when he was still a little boy was his very own mother, Teodora Alonzo. First and foremost, Donya Teodora was practically Rizal’s first ever teacher. She began to teach him how to read and write even before he was five years old. At the same time, I believe that she was also able to successfully instill her knowledge and principles upon her young son. Like most mothers, Donya Teodora also read or told Pepe different stories. Without a doubt, her stories have some important lessons, which would further help in terms of nourishing his perspectives and ideas. Furthermore, she is the one who introduced the wonders of literature to Rizal. Soon after, Rizal has come to love writing and became a wonderful poet. Of course, Rizal also have other figures whom he has also learned from. However, I truly believe that when he was still a child the most influential figure that taught him was his mother. Teodora Alonzo was his very first teacher, due to her valuable lessons that she taught to Rizal, Rizal has opened his eyes to the reality of the country he was born in. Teodora was a good mother and a good teacher, she did not waste a single moment to teach Rizal every value and ethics that a person should have. When she sent Rizal to a school in Binan under maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz, Rizal did not forget the important basic lessons that he learned from his mother. Rizal knew the idea of being disciplined, obedient, good-mannered, etc. by which it helped Rizal excel in his subjects, especially Spanish writing and speaking. Even as he went abroad to study more, he eventually became a doctor so that he could heal his mother's eyes, as a way of repaying the lessons and kindness he has learned from his own mother. 1.Jose Rizal's mother had a big impact on his upbringing and the way he became a writer and thinker. She instilled in him virtues like bravery, independence, and a strong sense of justice that would later influence his viewpoints and thoughts. Teodora made sure that her children received the best education possible. She encouraged Rizal to study hard and to learn not just from his textbooks, but from the world around him. Rizal was influenced by her mother Teodora Alonzo because she insisted on teaching him Tagalog and fostering a passion for his home tongue in him. Teodora Alonzo saw the value of conserving and advancing the Filipino language and culture at an era when Spanish was the language of the educated and the government. She thought her kid would be better able to comprehend and respect various cultures if he was familiar with and proud of his own culture. 2.With a strong sense of justice and love for his country, Paciano was a patriot and reformist who taught similar ideas in his younger brother. Due to Paciano's exposure to the injustices and mistreatment endured by the Filipino people during Spanish colonial authority, Rizal was influenced by it. Paciano participated in a number of nationalist and reformist activities he discussed his observations and learnings with his younger brother. Rizal gained knowledge of the oppressive conditions of colonial rule, the exploitation of the farmers, and the fight for Filipino independence from Paciano. Paciano Rizal played a significant role in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas during his childhood. Through his exposure to his brother's nationalist and reformist ideals, Rizal developed a sense of justice and a love for his country, which would later inspire his nationalist writings and activism. Influence on Rizal's moral and ethical values also helped shape him. 3.YES ESCALADA, A18

1. Jose Rizal's mother and first teacher, Teodora Alonzo, had a significant impact on his growth and thinking as a young child. She was a disciplinarian and a strong-willed woman who instilled in Rizal a love for literature, self-sacrifice, and a sense of loyalty to his country. The tale of the moth and the lamp is one instance of Teodora Alonzo's influence on Rizal. In spite of getting burned, a moth that attracted Rizal as a boy kept attempting to reach a lamp. Teodora Alonzo used this situation to impart to Rizal a lesson on the value of perseverance and the risks of recklessly pursuing one's desires. Like the moth, people should pursue their goals, but they should also be cautious and deliberate in their actions as she explained. Rizal's outlook on life and his reaction to this tale was profoundly affected. He learned the value of introspection and critical thought, which he eventually applied to his political and social beliefs. Later on, this tale became a revelation and an omen of Pepe's fate. 2. Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's older brother, was an outspoken nationalist and revolutionary who significantly influenced Rizal's political and social beliefs. He played a significant role in getting Rizal accepted into prestigious institutions and urging him to seek a career in medicine so that he could help his fellow Filipinos. The tale of the pebble and the stream is an additional instance of Paciano's influence on Rizal. When Pepe was a little child, he questioned Paciano as to why the river's water was constantly flowing. The stones and pebbles in the riverbed, Paciano said, caused obstructions that the water had to go around. He told Pepe that by speaking up against social injustices, people could make a difference in the same way. Jose was motivated by this to pursue writing as a career and utilize words as a tool for change rather than using force or other coercive tactics. Through his teachings and influence, Paciano gave Rizal a sense of social duty, a dedication to nonviolent reform, and a passionate love for his homeland. 3. YES (BENJAMIN, A18)

His mother also did teach him to value hard-earned money and, more importantly. Despite growing up in comfort and wealth, he learned to scrimp and save. She was the one who first opened his eyes and heart to the world around him. He learned the importance of self-improvement from his mother, so as he grew older, he worked hard to understand the reasoning of mathematics and write novels. She embedded in them the values of discipline, equality, and kindness. Most importantly, she instilled in her children the importance of treating Indios as equals. 1) Teodora Alonzo encouraged Rizal's love of reading, which is a prime example of how she influenced him as a child. She gave him early instruction in reading and writing as well as a love of books and education. Later, in his memoirs, Rizal recalled how his mother would read to him tales of heroes and legends, which inspired him and encouraged his need for knowledge. Rizal also acquired a strong sense of social responsibility and justice from Teodora Alonzo. She participated actively in charitable work and social concerns, including promoting women's rights and giving the needy access to healthcare. The dedication to these concerns and his mother's unshakable commitment to social justice can be seen in Rizal's subsequent writings and activities. Teodora Alonzo fostered Rizal's love of learning, sparked his imagination, and instilled in him a strong sense of social responsibility and justice, all of which significantly shaped Rizal's perspective and views during his formative years. 2) Paciano supported Jose's education and intellectual growth by giving him access to books and other materials that, at the time, were not widely available to most Filipino children. Jose gained a profound love of learning and a thirst for information as a result of this exposure, which would later drive him to become a writer, scientist, and scholar. Paciano's own participation in the Philippine independence struggle was one of the biggest impressions he had on Jose. Paciano belonged to the Propaganda Movement, a group of intellectuals from the Philippines who worked to spread the word about the difficulties the Philippines faced under Spanish colonial rule and to promote reforms. Jose was exposed to the concepts of nationalism, democracy, and social justice because to Paciano's involvement in this movement; these concepts would later become major topics in Jose's writing and activism. His father, his siblings, his former teachers, and even Napoleon Bonaparte undoubtedly helped him shape his character, but the person who had the greatest influence was Teodora Alonzo. First of all, she was his very first teacher. She taught him so many things that a child could learn from his or her parents. One of these things is the fundamentals of moral values and their importance for being a good person. A child relies so much upon their parents to make sure they are safe and their needs are being fulfilled. Dr. Jose Rizal’s mother made sure that he will grow as a good person by nurturing him and caring for him when he needed him the most. At a very young age, Teodora Alonzo taught him life lessons by telling little Jose Rizal some fun stories. In return, Dr. Jose Rizal carried the life lessons from these stories until he aged. Teodora Alonzo’s love and support for Dr. Jose Rizal made him the person he was. He was able to create meaningful relationships with people around him because of the values he learned from his family, especially from his mother. From my perspective, there are a lot of factors that helped Dr. Jose Rizal in molding his ideas and aspirations. It could be from his culture, customs, or even family traditions. 1. Teodora Alonso was the one to teach Jose Rizal basic skills such as reading and writing. However, she also taught him justice, the importance of self-improvement, obedience, art, and literature later on. Because he could learn the basic skills at an early age, he could already write good poems to the point that other people couldn't believe that he was the one to write them. Having the ability to read and write, opens up Rizal to new ideas and information around him. He can absorb lessons through paper already which allows him to learn anything without limit. This is important because without the guidance of Teodora Alonzo, Rizal's perspective in life could have gone in the wrong direction. Alonso's guidance includes her teachings to her children such as discipline, art, literature, self-improvement, justice, and compassion. All of these became the roots of Rizal's view of the world when he was still a child. 2. Paciano Rizal's influence to little Jose is more about him being a big "kuya" to Rizal. He served as the guardian to Jose Rizal when he was still a little child. Paciano is older than Jose, therefore he has more experience in life. He also had a connection to Fr. Burgos who was his teacher, who was then falsely accused and sentenced to death and Paciano was there to witness it. All of those experiences and life learnings of Paciano, were taught to Jose for his sake. Jose's "kuya" took care of him and part of it was he chose Jose's tutors. Paciano was the National Hero's hero, guardian, mentor, and brother. It is hard to think that Rizal would be able to reach his success without the help of his older brother. Paciano served as a bridge to Jose Rizal and greater education. Rizal was able to access tutors and information because of the company of his older brother. 3. YES Rivera (A18)

The schooling of Rizal from was guided heavily by his mother putting him with a tutor in Binan Laguna. Jose Rizal’s success was not only because of his passion, determination, and perseverance. His mother and his family members played a vital role in shaping Rizal’s attitude and mindset to become the Rizal we all know. However there is no wonder that Jose Rizal was a gifted child, he wrote amazing poems that adults such as his priest-uncle Fr. Leoncio wouldn’t believe that a little boy could write a poems that good. Teodora Alonzo was a great mother who raised a great man. Rizal was even influenced by her mother to take up medicine to cure her mother’s cataract, with that we can see how Rizal was deeply connected and influenced by her mother. 2. Jose Rizal only had one brother, Paciano. He backs up Jose Rizal with his propagandas and ideas, he also acted as Jose Rizal’s guardian in school. Paciano chose the tutor of the national hero when he was young. When Jose Rizal was in Spain, Paciano updates his brother with what is happening in the Philippines, additionally He would also send money to Rizal. 1.) Jose Rizal's mother, Teodora Alonzo, had a big influence on how he developed his points of view and regards as a young boy. She was an extremely clever and well-educated woman who taught Rizal the importance of working hard, loving to study, and caring for the well-being of his Kababayan. Teodora Alonzo's insistence on the value of education is one instance of how she influenced Rizal. She ensured that her kids, especially Rizal, got a good education despite the little chances available to women at the time in the Philippines. To make sure they were given access to a high-quality education, she even established a school inside their house. Teodora Alonzo showed to Rizal the value of independence, self-reliance, and critical thinking. She drove him to challenge the current status order and think independently, which impacted his later perspectives on political and social issues. Throughout his life, Rizal frequently credited his mother's morals and teachings as an ongoing source of motivation and guidance. 2.) 1) There is a quote by Malcom X that says, “The mother is the first teacher of the child. The message she gives that child, that child gives to the world.” This is why I believe that Teodora Alonzo, the mother of Rizal, was the most influential in molding Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas when he was a child. The mother of Rizal was his first teacher. He was able to learn and read at an early age of 5 because of his mother. Teodora Alonzo was the one who instilled in Rizal the values of self-sacrifice, stoicism, discipline, and poetry appreciation. Rizal was able to be moral and good in his works because of the principles and ideals that Teodora Alonzo instilled in him. She was hands-on in parenting and teaching Rizal and his siblings. This is evident in Rizal’s favorite story, The story of the Moth, because this story was told to Rizal by Teodora Alonzo when he was young. Without Rizal’s mother’s discipline and lessons to him, he would not be able to have the love for this country, as his mother taught him that he should treat everyone equally, no matter what their status are, they should be treated nicely. As Teodora Alonzo tells the story of the Moth, Rizal was already impressed by the story and looked up to it about sacrificing and being a martyr. Rizal’s mother became an instrument for Rizal to mold his perspective about how important education is, how we should give the justice to those who were treated unjust, how to give importance to hard-earned money and what does the real world have, all the challenges, pain, cruelty, unjust treatments, harshness and sadness. Teodora Alonzo was really the first one to influence Rizal and an eye opener to him, from practicality, intelligence and justice, it is his mother, who was able to engrave it to Rizal’s personality and bring it even while he was studying abroad. 2) As education was taught to Alonzo-Rizal children, Paciano was able to also influence Rizal by also carrying the love for this country. He was able to send money to Rizal when he was still studying in Spain so Rizal will be able to continue his studies abroad. Paciano Rizal was also the instrument for Rizal to know about how the friars were abusing the Filipinos within their own country. By writing letters to Rizal, Rizal was able to know and keep him updated to whatever is happening to the Philippines during the time that he was studying abroad. Paciano Rizal was also having a heart for this country to be freed from the conquerors as their mother influenced them about justice. When Rizal was still studying in Spain, through the letters from his older brother Paciano, he was influenced and inspired that the Philippines should have its independence, it is their right to lead their own country. 1. We all know that parents have a huge influence in molding ourselves, especially our mother who gave birth to us. Teodora Alonzo had a huge influence in molding Jose Rizal’s perspective and ideas when he was a child and the first thing that influence Rizal is his mother’s attitude, we all know that from the previous lessons he inherits her fondness in poetry, temperament of a dreamer, self-sacrifice, and stoicism. She is also the one who teaches him how to read and write because she is his first teacher. Lastly is when his mother told him the story of the moth or gamo-gamo. We know that in this story the little moth didn’t listen to her mother when the mother said that don’t go near the fire because it is dangerous. That also reflects on Rizal when he tried to go near the fire, the fire is the reflection of the enemy or the Spaniards but still he doesn’t listen to her mother, so he died. 2. His big brother has a huge influence in his perspective and his ideas because Paciano became his role model. When Rizal was still a child Paciano was a member of a propaganda movement and I think it inspired Rizal to fight against the Spaniards. His brother also tells him what happened to the GOMBURZA, in his young age he already knew about the inequality in his country, just because they are an Indio, they don’t have the right to fight the decision of the Spaniards. Paciano always tells him about what is happening in his propaganda movement and what is happening in his fellow reformists, I think this also triggers Jose Rizal to go against the Spaniards. Paciano is a nationalist, revolutionary and advocate of equal rights, this attitude can also be seen in Jose Rizal, that is why I can say that he has a big influence in molding Jose Rizal. 3. Aside from teaching Rizal self-sacrifice, discipline, and compassion, Teodora Alonzo also taught Rizal a sense of fondness to poetry which he later on would use to impact others. Being his first teacher, Teodora had the most influence during his childhood that molded his perspective and ideas of pursuing what is right, fighting for what you believe in and staying your ground. His ways and love with poetry started early on when he was a child which may really suggest that because of his mother’s teaching to him when he was younger really influenced how he grew up and saw the world around him. 1. Paciano Rizal, in my opinion, had the most impact on Jose Rizal's life and changed his perspective on the world's reality. Paciano's plan to send Rizal to various countries to study their cultures and discover the beauty of each country started it all. During his journey, he encountered many new individuals who inspired him to write poems, essays, and novels about liberalism, racism, equal rights, and other topics. Unfortunately, his mother, Teodora Alonzo, urged him not to write pieces that would upset the friars or the Regime since they could result in torture or, worse, death. However, he became even more determined to continue what he was doing and maintained his stance, saying, "A son can pay honor to his parents through honesty and good name." As a result, if Paciano's plan had not been implemented, Rizal may not have been aware of what was going on in our country and the suffering that his fellow countrymen were experiencing at the hands of the Spaniards. 2. Fact that Jose Rizal's mother was her first teacher, he learned to be obedient through the story of "The Story of the Moth" that to not go near the flames so the moth will not go to get burned. He learned how to write at the age of 5-years old because of his mother. The story of the moth was like a revelation of what would happen in Rizal's adulthood. His mother also taught him the value of money and also the importance of thrift and of denying oneself. We also learned everything from our mother there are many life lessons we could learn from our mother, the best life lessons will always be coming from them. 2) Yes Soriano, A06

Rizal proved to be his mother's son, throughout his young life, as he continually strived to preserve trust in the lessons she taught him. Aside from teaching him how to appreciate reading, she also taught him to spend his time meaningfully. She also taught him reveral life lessons like, generosity, the value of hard-earned money and most specially, obedience. The way Doña Teodora brought up Jose Rizal made him a fine young man. He grew up with the proper guidance from his family, specially his mother. These are perhaps, what molded Jose Rizal's perspective and ideas. 2.) Paciano Rizal, was better known as Jose's second father. He was his guardian while he was growing up. Paciano was the one who took Jose to Biñan to study. He became Jose Rizal's guardian specially when it comes to education. From picking the schools he will go to and even the course to take up in his tertiary year. His mother was the first teacher in his life before he went to school and was taught by his maestro, Justiniano Aquino Cruz. Just like us, our mother is the one who taught us first since we were young. Teodora taught and helped Jose Rizal to read and write at such a young age. Rizal’s favorite story was told by his mother, which happened in his adulthood. Then, Rizal was able to learn and gain knowledge about his mother’s stories. Moreover, he would be able to write poems such as "Sa Aking Mga Kabata", which he wrote when he was 8 years old. Throughout those years, Rizal became popular, and other writers were pleased to attribute their works to Rizal. Because of Rizal’s mother, Teodora Alonzo, he was able to learn and write incredible poems at a young age and became the greatest novelist when he became an adult. Due to the foundation that his mother has built, Jose Rizal has already started forming his ideals and perspective at a young age. Despite growing up in luxury and wealth, he learned to save and scrimp. These would later come in handy for him during his time in Europe, as he struggled with poverty due to his family's meager and often delayed allowance. Beyond all else, he learned about conformity from her, as illustrated by the story of the moth who was burned by the flame because he disobeyed his mother's warning not to get too close to the flame. 1. Teodora Alonzo, the mother of Rizal, was one of the first people to mold Rizal into becoming a hero because she was little Pepe’s first teacher. She was known to be a disciplinarian and well-educated. Dona Teodora instilled Rizal with such great lessons and values that left a profound impact on Rizal’s views and ideas. Among the stories she shared with Rizal, “the story of the Moth (Gamo-gamo)” became his favorite. The story tells how the moth is captivated by the fire and continuously approaches it despite the danger it poses. Eventually, because of the moth’s urge to approach the fire despite the danger, it died along with it. The story of the moth somehow predicted what the future is for Little Pepe because, like the moth, Rizal died because of his principles and love for the country in pursuit of our freedom. He knew that it could get him killed, but he still decided to fight for it till the end. 2. The older brother of Jose Rizal, Paciano Rizal, was one the key figures that influenced Rizal into becoming a liberal and nationalist. Throughout Jose Rizal’s life, Paciano was there to support and guide him; he became a role model to his younger brother. Paciano was well-educated and active in politics, exposing his younger brother to different sorts of issues in society and politics. He also supported Jose Rizal when he studied in Europe, where he would send him money and keep him updated on the events transpiring in the country. He learned to value reading to learn more educating lessons that complements to his character. The Story of the Moth which was told by his mother was one of the many lessons that affect Rizal’s perspective. The plot of the Story of the Moth can be seen in Rizal’s life as it was happened in his adulthood. Dr. Jose Rizal is like the young moth mentioned in the story as he became determined and courageous on fighting for his ideals and never giving up as he grew older. The great character of his mother was passed to his son, Dr. Jose Rizal. She was also the inspiration of Jose Rizal in taking up medicine course. Furthermore, Rizal wanted to pursue his medicine career as he wanted to be the eye specialist that will cure his mother’s eye illness. At some point, Teodora Alonzo was against on the decision of Rizal on taking higher education because she does not want his son to experience a tragic fate. To sum it up, Rizal became the young moth who burn down on the flame as he got near into its danger. The character of Dr. Jose Rizal continues on developing that made him the person who is known in today’s world, a hero who challenged the oppressors and fought for his countrymen. She would often tell stories to Rizal when he was still a little boy that had moral lessons that he would later use during his adulthood. As his mother and first teacher, Teodora Alonzo guided his little boy to become a person that would later shine in his later days. She influenced Rizal's education as she provided the best for him, for him to be able to have the best access to education there is at that time. She would tell him all about equality, compassion, and justice. She taught him that he should always stay on the right path even if no one else is there and to stand up for what is right. Teodora Alonzo molded Jose Rizal to become the national hero of our country today. 2) Paciano Rizal, Jose Rizal's older brother influenced his perspective and ideas that he is now our national hero as he supported Rizal on the path that he took. Paciano, like his mother Teodora, would provide the best education for Rizal that would be the foundation for his improvement and development and well and his intellect and being wise. He served as Rizal's guardian growing up and would guide him throughout his journey. He was the source of inspiration for Jose Rizal to be upright and bring justice to our nation from the Spaniards. He would even send Rizal some money when he was still studying in abroad and update him on what is currently happening in the country through some letters. 1) I believe the most influential person in molding Dr. Jose Rizal perspective and ideas was his mother Teodora Alonzo, not only that she was his first teacher, to where he learnt how to read. It was Teodora Alonzo who opened Rizal's mind to everything he believes in. She made clear that her son understood the situation at which Philippines is suffering from, all the injustices, bigotry, and corruption under the Spanish Empire. Which is why I think that she was the most influential person that molded Dr. Jose Rizal perspective and ideas, because without explaining or teaching all her knowledge to young Pepe he wouldn't have a concrete consciousness of what is happening around him. His other relatives such as Francisco Mercado and Paciano Rizal, (his father and brother) also played a role on molding Dr. Jose Rizal as they all have one thing in common and that is to ultimately free their motherland from Spaniards. Maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz also had his fair contribution to Rizal's life as he was his teacher for Latin and Spanish, where he Mastered Latin and learnt Spanish. I believe Napolean Bonaparte was Rizal's idol, to which he looks up to maybe because he resembles himself to the French leader as they both share some similar physical features and that maybe Rizal was motivated on how influential he can be just like Napolean Bonaparte. 2) Yes Meranio-(A06)

Unfortunately, for all of this, he acquired not only fame but also the dread of narrow-minded people. His mother also taught him the value of hard work, the virtues of self-denial and economy, and the wisdom of setting aside some of one's earnings as insurance against the whims of life. Despite living in luxury and prosperity as a child, he learned how to conserve money. These would subsequently be useful to him as he suffered with poverty in Europe as a result of his family's limited and frequently delayed allowance. Above all, she taught him about conformity, as evidenced by the story 2 Since Paciano was politically active and highly educated, he exposed Rizal to a variety of social and political topics that later shaped his activism and writing. The Gomburza martyrs' 1872 execution, which Paciano and Rizal witnessed together, was a turning point in history that deeply affected Paciano's brother. Rizal's fury at the injustices and excesses of the colonial administration was sparked by the Spanish government's killing of the three Filipino priests, which inspired him to fight for social and political change in the Philippines. Along with recounting historical incidents, Paciano acted as an example for his younger brother. Rizal learned the importance of knowledge and critical thinking from Paciano, his older sibling and a well-respected member of the community. 3 yes Barcellano b43

I remember what I said last time: that his parents have a huge influence on Rizal’s perspective today. I believe that Teodora Alonzo, Rizal's mother, was a well-educated woman who played a significant role in shaping his outlook and ideas during his childhood. She encouraged his intellectual pursuits and placed a strong emphasis on education. Teodora Alonzo taught Rizal how to read and write from a young age, exposing him to various books and literature that sparked his curiosity and skills. Her love for their country deeply influenced Rizal, and it became a central theme in his writings and activism. Teodora Alonzo also guided Rizal's religious upbringing, introducing him to different teachings and practices. This exposure to diverse perspectives nurtured his open-mindedness and his inclination to question prevailing beliefs, leading to his writings on religious reform and advocacy for religious freedom. 2. His older brother, Paciano Rizal, had a profound influence on shaping his mindset and beliefs during his formative years. As a mentor and guide, Paciano shared meaningful experiences and teachings with Jose. He shares stories of the hardships and oppression endured by their fellow countrymen under Spanish colonial rule, instilling in Jose Rizal a strong dedication to advocating for social justice. Paciano's influence ingrained in Jose a firm commitment to stand up against injustices and fight for the rights of their people. One example that illustrates his influence is Paciano Rizal, who understood how education could empower people and make a positive impact on society. He supported and motivated Jose in his studies, pushing him to succeed academically. Although Paciano couldn't pursue his own educational dreams due to financial limitations, his belief in the power of knowledge greatly influenced Jose. This shaped Jose Rizal's strong dedication to learning and his determination to use education to improve his nation. 3. The foundation of a person is built when they were young in which the same concept applies to us. The person and the environment Rizal grew up in were responsible for who he was born and lived to be. The creation of this core foundation served as Rizal's basis for his perspective and ideas on our society and our world during his time, thus allowed him to discover great things such as the freedom of the Filipinos. Fortunately for us Filipinos, there was a Teodora Alonzo and a healthy environment for Rizal that taught Rizal the importance of being obedient as an individual, being punctual in his classes, and being generous towards others. However, there are still several factors that can affect one’s perspective and ideas, one of these is his / her experiences in life. This is due to in effect of different opinions and facts that a person encountered every day, but the most important here is that our parents / guardians are still at our side whom we can seek advise if we did not know what we might done unless we are aware and convinced that our decision will bring us good. Napoleon gave Rizal an idea of the wrong things that every nation had. He set Jose Rizal's perspective that every country and nation deserves its freedom.
