@chevystud88 The video was shot in last August. We have to space out our reviews so we don't have too many Chevy reviews all at one time. With regards to the 2012 models they won't be available to journalists in the DC area until the spring. There's not a big demand for convertibles in our market over the winter. I realize that most who watch the video don't live in the DC area but that's the way the system works unfortunately. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
@smp336 A few reasons come to my mind. Body roll from lack of roof, mechanical problems in the future from actuators going bad, more likely to leak after time.
@Arguemento They are in my opinion, but I use to sell Camaros. One thing you get with a chopped top is miles of rear visibility! When I'd return from a test drive, I'd have to really rely on those rear park assist to keep me from bumping into things. But I digress, I want the ZL1, and it won't be a convertible.
@Barobran92 The 2012 Camaro is already out. The new steering wheel is the same one you would find in the Cruze and just about all other Chevys it no longer has a unique one.
@ILikeReallyBigButts I will answer this one for Ross. Hands down the Boss Mustang is the winner. There is a new Camaro ZL1 out which we'll test in a couple of months. The ZL1 is more comparable to the Boss. -Charlie@RoadflyTV
car builders focus on speed but if this car crashed at top speed will the driver survive? these cars they fold so easily on impact yet they make them faster. I want a car that is more safety focus
Is the added horsepower an incentive to buy the stick shift? I know it's true...manual transmissions are slowly disappearing, so I'm hoping cars like this will keep them alive. Give those that want the fun real connected road driving experience a stick shift, and I'll wait in line to buy 'em up!!
@roadflytv other than his unbuttoned shirts, I like Rosses reviews, and surprisingly his taste in cars. The t-shirt part was only a joke... or was it? :)
@ILikeReallyBigButts Hahahaha... thanks for pointing that out. So much for my multitasking skills this morning. You win a free t-shirt! -Charlie@RoadflyTV
Your comment about being "quiet" : I think they had trouble deciding what age bracket would be the most interested in buying the car. $42,000 and "quiet" = I think they aimed at older middle class buyers.
Yet another convertible review that mentions either masculinity or testosterone. I think convertibles are inherently feminine. Not saying that Ross looks feminine in this one, although the pink shirt doesn't hurt :) Great review as always, guys.
@Mik5OO We've been trying to get him to button it up for years! What can I say... he has fans that like it unbuttoned?!?! Hahaha. :-) -Charlie@RoadflyTV
That guy said why isnt it loud. Old heads or females that buy that car may not want it loud from the factory. That's why you have aftermarket exhaust that you can buy
I like this car, but that steering wheel is absolutely hideous, it might actually be a deal breaker for me. Good thing it's getting a new one for 2012.
I use to sell Camaros. I think this guy is right. Its too quiet. Even in the coupe. Its fast, no doubt. But I want feel and hear that engine, without having to roll the windows down and listen carefully lol.
Ross, i sincerely like your reveiws, yer just dressin a bit metro here, but the clear legs just dont complete the package....try some Mystic Tan or even at home spray tan.
you must not be familiar with other interiors...the camaro interior is so cheap feeling, that was the main reason i opted for a luxury convertible. My Audi A5 cabriolet does not have the same muscle but at least it feels like quality
There are very few American cars/SUVs/trucks which are really good: Hummer H1, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Shelby, pick up trucks and maybe Corvette slightly okish. Other sports cars arent really American cs they were engineered in Europe. Viper was done Lamborgini, Ford GT by Aston MArtin and Lotus. Sorry. Everything else is soooo ugly and lacks engineering and taste. This Camaro is a proof.
omg those american muscle cars are so damn cheap! So is the cockpit. That thing looks like a freakin matchbox car. All nice materials, Ross? Are you serious or just cynical?! That's cheapest plastic all over the place. I don't want to complain and compare a muscle car with german premium cars... buuuuuut when you're sitting in an A5 Cabriolet....that's a different story at all!
