Can't help but miss Robin Williams, who should have been there to honor his pal Billy 😢

To hear Robert De Niro say, "Simply you're one of our best actors." Coming from one of the GOATs of acting, IMO that's quite an accomplishment and a compliment. Congratulations Billy and to all the nominees, you are all the GOAT in my opinion.

After watching many Robert De Niro's talk shows apperances where he is a little bit grumpy, silent and withdrawn I am very surprised how funny he is in here. And singing? omg! He really must love Billy Crystal

At 51, I feel like I've been blessed with a life full of Billy Crystal. I remember loving Soap as a little kid, scarcely aware of what groundbreaking television I was watching. Growing up with When Harry Met Sally is a touchstone. We related to them differently at different ages. We reach a point when we understand that making her meow isn't as important as we once thought it was. Watching him go toe-to-toe with Robin Williams and knowing when to stand aside and let the tornado spin and when to grab hold and ride it was a lesson in talent and humility. But it was his Oscar hosting that I think of and miss the most. He truly was a class act. He made fun but never belittled, never below the belt. He celebrated the movies with us and helped to craft some of Oscar's most memorable moments. They feel like precious time capsules now. It's a gift and responsibility to celebrate those we love while they're living. He'll carry this night for the rest of his days.

Never heard Robert singing before... in New York New York Liza Minnelli definitely was... and I know that pretty well for sure, being Bob for me the best actor of all times! Working together must have really made Robert and Billy bond that strong if someone who doesn't give away too much hen out of a role like De Niro goes there on stage showing off that one thing of many that Billy Crystal does much much much better together with making us laugh: singing!
