@@BiggidyB Yeah because we go to RU-vid to get our grammar and literacy checked just because you think you're all that for using a full stop at the end of your sentence 😂
Yeahhhhh, this is kinda just falling into the usual framework of pickup artists and "alpha males" where everything has to be about domination. They are clearly just playing a bit together. Like, dude, they're ACTORS...
Ok, I was skeptically cringing until the final title card (Getting to Really Know the Person Yourself = Most Accurate), but I'm glad to be proven wrong.
Kimmel was trying to be silly and funny and Robert Downey Jr didnt get his humor and was pretty easily offended because he misunderstood the silly humor and got mad about it; part of this is on Kimmel because when he saw that Robert Downey Jr was upset he tried to correct it with further silly humor, with Robert didn't get, so it got worse. Kimmel needs to be simploe and clear with with humor next time for this guest to avoid misunderstandings.
This is what goes on in my head at ever conversation, then I walk away and think about it for a week... after that I realize how much I went off the rails and forget all about it til the next witty/odd conversation.
What did u expect it's a stupid show. Still way better than anything Trump did the last 4 years. I'm thinking donny's going to off himself soon now that hes not getting attention. Good,
It's not over analyzed at all, lol. This was some hissy stuff. I had to take pause and take a break after 1:50 when RD jr mentioned Kimmel's pants again. The awkwardness was just too out of control 🙆♂️
Watching this video made me realise how an innocent video of what seemed to be genuine questions is practically a verbal war and gaslighting. This definitely shown me a fresh perspective of what late night hosts actually want.
@@richperry4556 no mate he gave clear evidence for what he believed and what that showed but i have to say he didn't say whether it was common between them to act in that way
not really he doesn’t just interview actors he also interviews, artists, directors/producers/ famous internet stars etc etc so he would sadly still have a platform and be known regardless of actors
@@MRreloaded_ jimmy is a cocky person, it is easy to nail down someone by asking them to come to their shows but becoming an RDJ takes lots of hard work and work ethic.
Alot of people in the comments are saying this is blown out of proportion but after his kid came up on screen, RDJ truly seemed thrown off balance and then he seemed WAY more aggressive and on edge like "I can't believe I haven't come across that desk yet, Jimmy. Can you imagine if these people weren't here? (Exaggerated smile)"
Downey is normally uncomfortable in interviews, so his 'body language' is perfectly normal for him. I suspect he also doesnt like Kimmel who has become renowned for asking inappropriate questions which he thinks are funny, but are not.
RDJ is not bothered AT all lmao. These are the takes of ppl that don't know shit about him. Even ppl who only started knowing who he was after Iron Man should know his sense of humor better...
@@combofriend4461 kinda hypocritical how you chastise people talking about RDJ even though they don’t know him BY talking about RDJ like you are his best friend Maybe think twice before commenting, don’t you have a zoom class to attend to?
You are aware that both Jimmy and RDJ are doing this for fun right? They’re both charismatic actors they’re having fun. You guys clearly don’t have a sense of humor or charisma
@@damiantirado9616 I think you're only half right here- Robert Downey was pissed throughout the interview because he dint get Kimmels jokes and he took trhem seriously and got really mad about them; Kimmel was just trying to be light and have fun with his guest,m and he dindt know how to fix it exaac6tly when thge guests didnt get his jakes and was offended instead of amused.
There was no bad energy from Kimmel- tehy were silly jokes that had no bad intentions. Then Robert Downey Jr ha bad energy because he didnt see the humor in the jokes, which were not mneant in any megative way at all.
@@Montyhugo Either your caps lock is stuck, or you’re an idiot who hollers.a lot to try and get attention. The former can be easily remedied with a quick key stroke, the latter we’re pretty much stuck with.
Thank you for this video, not just explaining the nuances of the unspoken language but showing and clearly pointing out how blatantly Jimmy Kimmel chose to attack multiple times. Things like this go with no acknowledgment way too often. RDJ was put in an unfairly difficult place in this whole senerio.
@@joelroberts8050 Kimmel's nothing more than a creepy politician who somehow bypassed the election process, probably by tossing a lot of salads in the MSM exec world if I had to guess. He'll piss off the wrong person sooner or later though and will spend weeks picking his teeth out of his crap with broken fingers, I'm quite sure of it.
@@Rick-the-Swift Kimmel just speaks about politics when he knows nothing about it. Only pointing fingers at 1 side and not the other. Plenty of bias there lol.
The fact that Jimmy Kimmel still has his job is what's really surprising. Him and the other Jimmy. Screw this, I'm binging Graham Norton's videos again.
I agree with you 100%. Both of them are always pumping their political views and lying to the audience. Kimmel was telling people the Hunter Biden laptop is Russian disinformation. A few weeks ago the man is in charge of our National security verified that the laptop is real and zero evidence of Russian involvement. I’m so tired of Hollywood pushing a political agenda that has nothing to do with entertaining people. Kimmel is such a snowflake soy boy.
And ... after all many talk show hosts preplan what's to happen when some guests appear, words, mannerisms - a script. Downey is an actor. He trends to not favor gay stuff.
Legend? Holy cow. I must have missed something. I've never seen the appeal of RDJ. I've liked him a little bit in Tropic Thunder and Date Night. In person, he's tense and not personable at all.
@@HandsomeJelly I agree 100%. I thought RDJ was epic in Tropic Thunder but that was really the writing and directing as much as anything. A thousand actors could have pulled off his role, and been just as funny or even funnier. Imagine Jim Carry, or even Tom Hanks playing Kirk Lazarus. Hell Willem Dafoe for that matter. That sh!t would have still been hilarious. Same deal when he played Wayne Gale in Natural Born Killers. Great role, but it was the writing and directing that made the movie, plus the entire cast, Woody Harrelson and Rodney Dangerfield etc. all absolutely killing it. But again, throw a dart at the board for at least a dozen actors that could have pulled off Wayne Gale's role. Rowan Atkinson would have smashed it compared to RDJ, IMO. But what movies or roles has RDJ done that was really moving or inspiring? Tony Stark? lol. Talk about a total sell out of a role for him, although I admit he has done better as a super hero than many other big name actors have done. Christian Bale as batman, for one has been among Hollywood's suckiest disappointment franchises.🤦♂️
Actually on second thought, "Wayne Gale" in NBK was probably Downey Jr's best role to date. The character's personality was already very on point with RDJ's own personality in real life, IMO. He was right for the job, but I can still imagine others would have done well with it too. Will Dafoe again, would have likely been a phenomenal Wayne Gale.
Yeah I agree as well. He has some good points and overall there might have been all that tension he describes but I genuinely think that it was still performed and acted, RDJ didn't seem to get offended FOR REAL. I think he went a bit too far with the analysis of the eyes as well.
Kimmel's another quack comedian who's really just a creepy politician that somehow bypassed the election process. I expect soon enough he'll piss off the wrong guest one day and end up picking his own teeth out of his crap with broken fingers. Just saying
Both Jimmys just suck. I dont understand how they possibly were the choices to continue late night...tho in retrospect how things are with society and trying to figure out where/when all this nonsense stems from...def all fits tgthr
You’re probably the only person I’ve watched that can read mannerisms, most people these days think they know what people feel like at least from what I’ve witnessed around where I live but for the most part no one around here or that I know can read the room or how someone feels,..I’m all about that and it drives me crazy when someone can’t tell when someone else is uncomfortable just with a few small gestures
Yeah to be honest only a small percentage of humans are like full people with full systems operating, most people wouldn’t have survived and reproduced if it weren’t for technological, medical, and safety policies advances
I can read people too from the energy they give off and from how calm they are usually when someone is too jolly something is off, when someone is calm and also kind they are usually real people oh and long stares accompanied with a smile and when someone begins talking to you and acting sweet when you've seen them for a while and they've never approached you is usually a fake person who's trying to take advantage of you and gain something from you oh and liars usually act very nervous and touch their lips with their fingers and crosslegs when confronted it's very easy to spot fake people when you begin to respect yourself and let go of fake people
God, I really hope so. I didn't think so until you pointed this out. I actually had to turn it off before I even got to that point in the video... it just comes across as being so cringe I can barely tolerate it.
*dang* the intelligence level 🤣🤣 It’s the RU-vidr who edited this video who is making those, in order to underline his point- probably with Final Cut Pro !
probably man "talk show twats" will be out of a job when their entire monologues and entire "show" (fake journalists?) were based on bashing TRUMP...no talents...kimmel fallon the view spew...chris wallace.. Anderson pooper.. shit ...too many to even name
Spot on analysis, well done. Watching this without your expertise would have left me thinking this was just a casual humorous interview with two guys but now I see that it was in fact psychological warfare and Jimmy was actually interrogating him.
This is really interesting and I do think there's tension between them here, probably stemming from jimmy's crass joke. But how talk shows work is the host and the guests will talk before the show and go over little anecdotes they will discuss later on camera. They do this in case the guest starts going off on a random tangent or freezes up or whatever, the host can redirect them back to the point and keep the show entertaining. That's how hosts just "happen" to have videos/pictures/whatever cued up and ready to go at the end of what seems like a spontaneous story. The patriots side step was almost certainly a fun story they had discussed beforehand, with the punchline intending to be "I think Chris just realized this is exciting last night." "But you didn't care at all" "nope, don't care" So Jimmy was probably trying to save the interview at that point by directing it to chris and the patriots, not trying to go for a jab. What you're reading as distress at that point is actually RDJ falling into step with the energy he told the story beforehand. So Jimmy was ushering him to the punchline, not taunting him. But yeah RDJ is crazy uncomfortable this entire time, I actually wonder if Jimmy had asked if he wanted to go for some more edgy/lewd humor and RDJ had vetoed it and that's why he's so on edge once he says the thing about his pants. Nothing Jimmy does seems to make up for it.
I really wish RDJ would use one of his best, honest & direct lines from his movie (Due Date) on Kimmel “You are so inappropriate it’s crazy”. Because it’s TRUE. RDJ IS a TRUE PROFESSIONAL SPORT to sit there & tolerate that creepy little punk weasel. And for that long. Kimmel just pushes & pushes and PUSHES!
This is way over analyzed. This is just the way that Robert is. He’s naturally charming, witty, and charismatic. Dude runs whatever conversation he is in.
I’m not so sure RDJ really sent him that photo judging by his reaction. I also feel he was not comfortable exposing his kid to the world like that. Talk show host have been known to dig up all kinds of things on people to use a leverage for good TV. Also, celebrities do not have a choice to appear on these shows because it’s often in their contracts. They break contract, they don’t get paid, possibly sued, and black listed. Hollyweird is full of treachery.
Robert Downey Jr is one of my favorite actors and continues to do brilliant work. He also strikes me as a brave guy who has faced and dealt with his own inner demons, but that is really none of my business. Enough said. But when Kimmel put up that photo of his daughter, that was the real low point of the show. Major restraint on Robert's part! I will never watch another one of Kimmel's "Talk Shows" and hope I'm not alone...
