The search for Maeve and Gideon Kennedy is sadly over. Robert F. Kennedy's granddaughter Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, 40, and her 8-year-old son Gideon “have passed away,” Maeve's husband David McKean confirmed in a heartbreaking post on Facebook. The mother and son were reported missing on April 2 after they failed to return from a ride in a canoe on the Chesapeake Bay.

This story just don't sound right.. As a dad, that ball would have been history. There is no way i would have let my kid go get a DAMN BALL IN WATER. I don't care if it was a pool. And as a parent i can't see his wife making that decision. That her and the son would go get on a canoe to get get a ball in strange waters like that. NO WAY. There's got to be more to the story

As a mom, I put my kids in swimming classes as soon as possible. At the age of 8, they were already experts. Aren't the canoes required to carry life jackets?

This is what I know about canoes. They don’t sink. Even if it capsized and filled with water it does not sink. I can’t believe a Kennedy wouldn’t know how to swim, or wouldn’t know better to put a life jacket on her child before getting into a boat, or lose both paddles in a working canoe. Even if you do lose your paddles, if you know rough water is ahead, you hold onto the canoe and swim in it in. It is the safest small boat on water. This doesn’t make sense, at all. I grieve for the family, they have suffered enough, but it doesn’t make sense.

I expect the water was cold. You can die of hypothermia, pretty fast , while hanging on to a canoe, but why did she not manage to handle that canoe ? the woman was athletic and that little seven year old likely could swim like a fish. I find it a somewhat bizarre accident. Very tragic for the family for sure. The poor little girls lost their mom and brother. So much sadness here.

No, it was another one of RFK's Granddaughters, Saoirse Kennedy Hill, age 22, who died of an accidental drug overdose, in August, 2019. So RFK & Ethel Kennedy, have lost (2) Granddaughters, and now a Great-Grandson, in the past (8) Months.

They keep saying she "passed away." I have not heard that she died. If her body was not found, they cannot confirm that she "passed away." They would have to say that she is missing or maybe presumed dead. To declare her "passed away" and give up the search at this point is nonsense. Something fishy going on here.

All this is to get at Robert F. Kennedy because his against "unsafe" vaccines. If the vaccines were tested safe against placebos he would be all for them. But, those who would loose billions remove those who would cause the loss. It's blind to think all these Kennedy deaths are accidents. Robert F. Kennedy is one of the bravest men I've seen and I am very grateful for his sacrifices and courage. That man has been through a lot of grave losses.
