So while bashing with my buddy the other day, the E Revo flipped over and I heard the dreaded whine of the slipper clutch. The pads were worn out, and I though, "hey I'll just really crank it down." Not. I broke the input spur gear. Awesome. So, after reading about how lame the stock slipper clutch is for brushless revos, I decided to pick up the Robinson Racing Slipper clutch. I've run their stuff in the past and been happy, so hopefully this works well for me. I swap the shaft, install the slipper, and compare it with stock!

great video. Every other installation video of this spur gear fails to show which way to position the washers!

0:30 too late, already went there! now I am traumatized and skittish about tightening this Robinson Racing installation. :P BTW - Evidently the drive pin 3:09 that goes thru the input shaft for the Brushless edition of the E-Maxx is larger than the earlier Maxxes, and RRP provides different backplates accordingly.

Nice information. I learned something. I don’t have an E Revo, but a 1/10 Summit. I subbed. I assume that the Robinson Racing slipper clutch will work on the Traxxas Summit, will contact the company before I buy. Thanks

How's it holding up for you? I'm doing some research on what stuff to get for my E-Revo 2.0. My transmission completely exploded, nothing salvageable. Looking into Robinson Racing parts & Jim's Bearings bearings

i just install Robinson Racing Spur gear 60T and using pinion 18T it seem to work great. I have not try 65T spur gear with 22T pinion gear. Any trouble with 22T pinion gear? I am using Robinson Racing on my E-Revo Brushless.

nope, no issues at all! I'm keeping an eye on temps though. You're using the RRP hardened pinions, right? You can use other ones, but they seem to get chewed up after a few runs. This is a 19t, but you get the idea. amzn.to/2pgnUNr

well, i'm using RRP8719 Extra Hard 5mm Bore .8 Module(31.75P) Pinion 18T from Losi. They're the best and they don't wear out. Plus my temp is not really hot around 120F. I purchase 17,18,19 and thinking to get 20 maybe 21 pinion trying out different pinion gear with RRP 60T and 65T only. I see 18T run pretty fast with 6S tho. check out the Losi Pinion Gear. I see a lot of Losi Pinion Gear Parts are always out.

Nice video, i keep destroying pinion gears on my slash 4x4. I even had one RR 8713 but the other half dozen were traxxas 13 t. Is there a certain mesh for hardened steel to hardened ? Please help.

Hi, is there a certain way the 3 clutch pads go? Because im not sure if I am putting them the right way..

on the factory/traxxas slipper? They have little nubs on them to help line up, but the stock revo clutch is a horrible design-the 3 pad thing they have is very difficult to set, and not very robust.
