The fact that Bisping never once brought up his eye throughout the rest of his fighting career after losing it says a lot about the guy. That dude makes zero fucking excuses.
To be fair if he had mentioned it he wouldn't be able to fight anymore so he had to keep it a secret so he could pass the medicals. Which still makes him a bad ass lol
@@MrMongoose221 I still can't believe how the medicals never noticed that he had 1 eye. I mean, just by looking at his weigh in vs GSP you can see that one eye was fake
@@prodigiii712 just curious, when did he admit it? Super fascinating. I once hated Bisping (I just learned about him today through this video) coz he seemed like a real dick in this last interview, but he's good.
I got to meet Luke once. I was really excited, but he was eating so I had to wait. Sadly his pizza bumped his chin and he was out cold. I didn't get a chance to say hi
Bisping has one of those Cinderella stories fight fans love, achieved everything he set out to with pure hard work and toughness and in a era of juice heads he fought clean....can only love him
Ultimate fighter Good mic skills Never tested positive for anything Avenged lots of his losses Changed his status from gatekeeper to real contender Won a championship with only one eye and on two weeks notice Defended his championship Never refused a fight Only lost his belt to GSP and was forced to retire Oxford dictionary should have his picture under fighter
@@rejachemno Jacare turned down Rockhold so Dana didn't want to give him another shot, Romero was supposed to fight Bisping but then he failed a drug test so he was facing a suspension (he then sued the company amd won too) so they went with Hendo, then GSP came along and well, if GSP comes back he gets romero's place
@@rejachemno i know this is an old comment, but i hope you werent implying Bisping was scared... Hendo flew through the air and drilled his unconscious face into the mat in their last fight.
I remember I won $2000 from Bisping winning this fight, then a few years later I was an intern at GaS Digital and I was lucky enough to tell Bisping that i won money from his win! Great fucking guy
@@awa8766 everybody was great, Luis is a good guy if he liked you he was always busting ya balls basically, Harrington is a good guy, brian is good dude, they all were good to me
Doesn’t feel like he really represents the UK in any type of way imo. Don’t think he’s even from Manchester lol. Great guy though, actually enjoy his podcast too
@@nathanlawrence9343 yeah 100% not a Karl Pilkington. It’s a shame bcus i woulda demanded that Bruce buffer read out my hometown even if it wasn’t ‘on the map’. Bisping coulda made his hometown famous lol
HELP MY!!! My muscles are too big! I am a big tall man and my muscles are even BIGGER! I use them to get views but they HURT so much!!! Because they are heavy. Do you have any advice, dear sami
Yeeah it's like Rockhold came with all his lines writen down before all of this and then Bisping came in with nothing but straight up improv and he totally owned him.
UFC 199 was one of the most entertaining events ever. Everything from the build-up, pre-match presser to the post-fight presser. The bickering and trash talk between Bisping, Rockhold and Cruz, Faber was pure gold. Shame they stopped post-fight pressers with all the fighters present.
The sad part about Bisping is that he only realised in his last year that he'd always over trained before fights. It took the advice of his trainer and no camp to make him realise how fresh he could feel in a fight. I can only imagine he would have got a belt or a title shot alot earlier when he had 2 eyes... But to do it the way he did it was something special!!
But that's also what made him so good. All that hard work in the gym may have hurt his performances but it also probably made him into the fighter he was
He would of been better for definite I like mike but silva was a beast at that time so I don't see him winning against the dominant silva ,but he was a good fighter heart of a lion ,and now a good commentator as well.
He has a previous Title eliminator fights twice I think, definitely once. Back in the day, they were more set in stone than Interim titles. If you won a title eliminator, you WERE next
Hard work, self belief, tenacity, discipline and commitment with a touch of delusion is what champions are made of...... Had the sport not been rife with ped cheats and Mike fought the most prolific offenders, he might have been a champ so much sooner.
Ya gotta be careful about that Rogan fellow... he's got a wandering eye. He switches his "fighter crush" every six months or so, leaving heartbreak in his wake.
Yo everything Rockhold says really came to bite him in the ass. "I'll give you half a round", "there is no such thing as destiny", "this will be his swan song".
Bisping is such a legend. Clear mismatch with Luke on the mic. No excuses or moaning. The Count deserved that win and the title. His fights are so entertaining as well. All with one eye.
At least we have him on the mic still. He was so much fun to watch as a fighter and continues as a commentator. Good humor, good banter and knows his stuff.
I would even go as far as saying he did the whole world proud. I'm from a town 20 minutes away from Santa Cruz (where Rockhold's from) and I was ecstatic when Bisping knocked that smug dickhead out
I love it when Rogan staring intensely to Bisping trash talking Rockhold at the weigh-in. Seems like he's absorbing all the raw testosterone he can get from Bisping.
@@kiwitalkspodcast no bro... basically, by calling them yes men, I don't mean to derrate them... basically Luke is arrogant, n they know that, so they don't actually encourage him to grow
Fucking love Bisping, that moment where the ref pulls him off Rockhold and it sinks in that he is the world champion is the happiest moment I have ever had watching UFC events. The pride at having this man represent our country was pure elation for, no jealousy, no envy, just pure happiness to see him achieve his dream. And now one of the best analysts in the game.
Nothing but love for Bisping. After reading his book, you realise how much hard work and dedication he put into his entire MMA career. Never took steroids or PED's, fought with life changing injuries and deserved the belt!
Bisping's lil boy saying Luke was gonna win while being filmed is hilarious😂😂On another note,I was glad to see Bisping humble Mr. believe & achieve Rockhold.
Bisping is easily in my top 3 favorite fighters of all time. A fighter isn’t measured with W’s and L’s but how they deal with hardship in life and inside the cage and Bisping dealt with possibly more bullshit than any fighter in the UFC
I saw that you'd uploaded a Rockhold video the other day and I thought 'he NEEDs to make one of these for his Bisping rematch' and the very next video I see is this one. Unbelievable. Also your videos are genuinely some of the best content on RU-vid. It puts these occasions in chronological order so people can actually understand the hype we all went through leading up to these bouts. Unbelievable workrate also. Keep it up and you'll blow up in no time. Respect and thanks to you!
Knowing that Mike was fighting with one eye since the Vitor fight, no juice ! I would be an asshole too ! My favorite champion all time. My favorite new channel! Thanks from Pittsburgh
Bispings son knows the power of good juju and bad juju and understands that everytime he says his dad is gonna lose, his dad wins. What a super sophisticated kid that’s crazy
to this day at least for me, Bisping vs. Rockhold 2 was the most wholesome underdog victory i have seen so far - I remember jumping up and down my room in the middle of the night, shouting my lungs out. just german MMA fan things
