J&J Productions yea running rocksmith on ps4 bought it on sale for 12.99 then had to buy the cord for like 40. overall i still made out. conpletley new to playing guitar so this was defitiley helpful to make sure i get the best results. thanks bro.

J&J Productions also found out i think i have to move my fret board up closer to the strings to get better sound output so thats another thing i gotta do lol.

Anthony Riccardi I would deff look up some basic videos on youtube to get yourself started with chords, which you totally can do on Rocksmith, but practicing basics, getting your muscle memory and hands used to certain shapes/movements will help a long way with this game and your learning, glad I can help in anyway!

UnendingGrimnesS yeah no doubt man I feel that, you would need to buy a rocksmith guitar cable separate also if you download the game vs buying it on disk. I made this video with the wires laid out in my messy room super quick. I have my own apartment now and all the cables are tucked away neatly if that makes you ever reconsider lol.

Yes, It powers the converter box and the toslink cable connected to the system actually transfers the data

I’m sorry dude it’s been so long since I made this video that I’m not sure about the slim and I wasn’t aware myself that it didn’t have a toslink port at the time I just knew the regular ps4 had one. I would probably return it unless you can figure out how to make it connect without a toslink connection but most likely that won’t work

samchoochiu unfortunately I don't think so, you can try finding a converter of some sort that use's the old rca cables and plug the red white and yellow cable in your tv and see if that works. If it doesn't work just keep receipt for the converter and cables and just return it

Jason Overstreet Yeah sure I'm referencing from my experience with xbox one it should be the same with ps4, In the setting section of your console (ps4/xbox) you need to find the audio settings option, and change where the sound is coming from there should be an option somewhere to switch it to optical audio If you are still having trouble I will make a separate video showing how to change those settings

spazemunky yeah I hear ya it's definitely annoying to deal with, it's possible to put a small set on top of your ps4 so it takes up less space

HatsTour I actually bought the soundbar just to play this game. I wouldn't have cared if I had one normally.

The best Ubisoft can do is tweek the software engine to reduce the sound processing time. Even the Cable itself adds lag to the signal (the little box on the cable is an analog to digital converter). If the X-Box is in anything but stereo uncompressed, it will add more time to the lag. AND then, the sound receiver will add to the lag by having to process the signal from the X-Box. So, Ubisoft could make the sound engine perfect for the game, but people will still hear lag in the audio because their individual setup is what is causing the noticeable lag.

Yes it is synced with no lag for me at all, but the sound is coming from separate speakers.

Justin Bernard have you tried external speakers? And where are you plugging in your headphones it can’t be the controller it would have to be the converter itself. Also make sure your xbox sound settings are set to optical.

Honestly this set up isn’t ideal for apple headphones really either because the cable is short unless you sit like right in front of your tv, if you need to use headphones you can try it but I tended to use a hyper x gaming headset when I would play at night with no lag connected to the converter but I have to admit it is a little awkward.

J&J Productions hey man thanks for the quick reply! I’ll definitely try external speakers. But for some reason when I turn off optical, there is less lag on my Apple speakers and on the tv (HDMI). For now this works (better) but I will try external speakers as well as the optical setting eventually. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you

You can cut out the entire converter by just getting speakers or a soundbar with an optical audio input on it... then all you need is the toslink cable between the two

LennonSFC yes you would plug your 3.5 mm jack from your headphones into the plug that i unattached at the beginning of the video but you may just need headphones with a long cable to be comfortable

Can't do it. As a drummer for 35 years, I'm going to feel it if it is off by even a few milliseconds. This is not the way to learn a new instrument. I mean, I have had to deal with lag professionally before, where you have to play EVERYTHING an eighth note ahead or behind. Interesting exercise, but I don't want it in my game.

@@roryh50 the weird port that is glowing red inside... it is the optical port that uses light to transfer data

If your tv has an optical audio input all you need is the toslink cable... sadly while most TVs have an optical audio output, not many TV's have optical audio input. Most modern speakers or soundbar do have the imput tho and if they have the it... your playstation/xbox already has the output so you wouldn't need the converter just the optical cable

Joseph Holliday if your speakers have that option yes that will work but plugging straight into your tv I heard is still slightly off

J&J Productions I currently use speakers with optical input, but you could also use optical to analog converter (about $12 on amazon) to plug into other speakers. My biggest issue with usb is there still seems to be a bit of latency when I use a usb audio adapter on my ps4, and there is a limited number of usb ports on the ps4 (only 2 on mine). I hear the slim ps4 doesn't have optical out though, which I am a bit sad about. I'm not sure why they would remove it when so many games support Dolby surround.

If you have 360 play it in tube TV and there wasn't any lag hardly at all.

I should add it is PS4 Slim. Sorry. The ps4 has one. Not the slim.

Be sure to switch your systems audio output in the sound settings after you set up all the stuff, maybe that's the issue

hmu Philly no haha I had it laid out that way for the video, you can tuck the cables away. I don’t live there anymore, the way I have it set up now you can’t even see it in my apartment.

hmu Philly there’s a possibility you won’t need anything extra for pc unless your audio is coming from your monitor.

@@Blackoutpb14 with just thr monitor sound is not loud enough I usually have headphones but its just doesnt feel like a full experience I have just a 10 watt practice amp with a regular guitar amp rocksmith 2014 remastered has about perfect latency but original rocksmith is has lag as bad no.matter what btw thanks for the reply

There is a audio exclusively setting in rocksmith and its suppose to help does it not

Anthony Kesterson yeah I deff feel that, at the same time I’m glad they created this game at all even with these issues. I guess I’m a glass half full kind of guy but that could be more to do with the fact that it works for me now

You must be confused...Rockstar's stories are always finished and polished and they release all of their add ons to their multiplayer experiences for free... they are like one of the only companies that actually does that. Everything added is also easily purchased with in game currency on Gta5 and RDR2 and no extra payment beyond the base game is needed. Ubisoft wishes they were like rockstar... as it is, ubisoft just Re-skins assasins creed or farcry every year or 2 to make some quick cash and all of their games like AC, Farcry, the division, etc. have like 4 or 5 add ons that are 15$ a piece that you can't access without paying. They are the ones who release games with paywalls to add ons that are already in the code of the game(when I played assasins creed odyssey I was playing along and a door was placed in the base game that literally told me to wait for the Atlantis expansion before i finished the main story) Not to mention their crap development. Ubisoft, cdprojectred, EA, etc. are all garbage compared to Rockstars quality. There is a reason gta 5 still sells more than many new games while it is over 5 years old
