@Celtic Revival / Adfywiad Celtaidd yes true but I refuse to to take the blame for something which happened out with my lifetime ,watching the the families waiting for their loved ones was touching and doesn't mean I agreed or disagreed with the cause
I have always loved Rod. This is a young Rod. I have seen him in concert 5 times. His most popular song is "Maggie May". He has a very unique voice............ :-) Yes keep him on the channel.......
Ann waychoff I said I was going to name my daughter Maggie May, if I had a daughter. I said this in 7th grade. Of course, I didn't name her Maggie May. But it is a beautiful song.
One of my great regrets is that I did not see Rod and The Faces in London in those early years.Other regrets ? Having pad 75 PENCE to see the Number 1 World Group: Led Zeppelin at Wembley Arena in NW London around 1975 I wished my team hadn't lost and it was pouring with rain in my SE London home so did not go and never did see them. I also wished I had seen guitar supremo:Rory Gallagher b4 his untimely death and wish that I had not got the dates wrong and turned up one week late to see " Golden Earring" a Dutch Group in Croydon but "regrets I have had a few but then again.....too few to mention....lol
@@Isleofskye lol I am so sorry. All I can tell you is Rod put on great concerts back then. Not that they would be bad now, just mellower............ :-)
Rod Stewart, do I need to say more?? An incredible entertainer, love every single song this man sings, well all but Hot Legs, it's the only one I can pass on 🙃. But put Rod on, and my day is BRIGHT AND FULL OF HOPE..THIS MAN JUST BRINGS ME UP EVERY TIME I HEAR HIS ONE OF A KIND VOICE. I LOVE YA ROD..❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Keep them coming India, love your choices in music!! Thank you for the awesome uploads!! 🌞🌞🌞
You cannot imagine how happy you made this old lady!!! Finally someone is reacting to one of the greats, that always seem to be overlooked. He has quite a long list of hit songs & I hope you react to more!!!
Very few songs will touch your soul and change your temperament like this song "Sailing" as sung by Rod Stewart. Once you hear it, you are transformed and your disposition is changed forever. Absolutely brilliant song and singer to be able to do that.
Gut wrenching seeing those beautiful twin towers, if only the course of history could be changed. Great song by Rod, very emotional. Another great song with the same title by Christopher Cross is definitely worth checking out.
I saw Rodney 4 times back in the day, twice before "Maggie May", once while it was a hit, and once after when he did his "Long Player" album. Try him doing "Baby Jane", his version of "Reason To Believe", "Forever Young", his version of "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Broken Arrow", and of course, "Maggie May". However, if you want to hear from where he copied his vocal style, listen to Arthur Conley doing "Sweet Soul Music".
I just found your Channel today but I absolutely love your stuff. Keep up the good work and your children are adorable don't worry about when they peek in..
This is standard at the departure of big ships at the bigger ports. I was on the Oriana on its maiden around the World voyage last century. It is extremely emotional when the band strikes up “Sailing” and the mass of people on the dock and leaning over the rails of the ship start to sing the words together while waving to loved ones. That song causes lots of tears, especially as the ship casts off and pulls away from the dock, and the streamers start flying, and the deep notes of the ships horn sound, and the tug boats do their work. It turns an ordinary moment into pure magic.
One of my all time favorite artist.....there's so so much more of Rod's artistry you should check out......I mean like tons.......keep him on the channel.....was gonna suggest him last week.......from rock to ballads and more......he could do it all exquisitely
RIP most beautiful twins.. hard to believe that this time they weren't even open more than 5 years or just over.. 9/11 never forget never forgive. what's amazing if you're not from New York or you were born and very young when the towers came down this is just a fantastic video of the harbor as you're looking over and you can see just what a magnificent piece of architecture the whole One World trade Center really was.. such a great song with Rod Stewart decided to leave England behind and come to America to start recording and living in 1975 hence the title of his album the Atlantic Crossing of course just for campyness t and fun I'm sure you know his classic do you think I'm sexy lol
@@mikesimonian484 Reason To Believe, mandolin wind, hot legs, da ya Think im sexy, baby Jane, you're in my heart, the first cut is the deepest, have I told you lately, rhythm of my heart, tonight I'm Yours, young Turks, forever you g
Oh yeah...."i dont wanna talk about it" is the greatest on that album. Worth a react. Also, if you like bluesy type songs try "white rythym n blues" linda rondstadt.
My dear parents loved Rod Stewart, as do I. We played 'sailing' at my father's funeral. We are going to play it at the internment of his ashes in four days time. It means so much to us all.
Any one notice the twin towers now no longer stands such a presence they had the 2 tower's now only can be seen in past video's....great song this by rod Stewart rod is Scottish n was a footballplayer 😃😍👍
I’ve loved Rod Stewart from the first release of Maggie May....fabulous album! I remember my college days, we’d come home from an afternoon of skiing class, open a bottle of Pinot Noir and listen to Rod. Fifty years later....still listening to Rod♥️♥️♥️
I would be interested on your thoughts of UK group Take That. I like them myself, But only one of the groups or singers i like. Tears for Fears are still my over all favourit thought.
If you like Rods voice, you should react to Paulo Nutini- Let me down Easy. He's from Scotland, same as Rod & similar voice. Easy on the eyes as well!😊
Or Celtic fan, Princess Anne is president of Scottish Rugby but again is she Scottish. I know it's just pedantics but I'm Scottish with Irish ancestry but that doesn't make me want to support Ireland.
Stewart became more widely known in the first Jeff Beck Group, then he moved on to The Faces launching his solo career while in that band. Faces backed Stewart on several solo albums while he still was a member of The Faces. Before making a name, he also played harmonica on Millie's huge hit "My Boy Lollipop". He also was a member of short-lived Shotgun Express which was a line-up of future big names of British rock and blues scene.
Always love Rob...he has some awesome music and lots of hits songs. He is 74 and still touring. Oh and if you want his body and you think he's sexy go on sugar and let him know 😝
React to ROBERT JOHN - SAD EYES (1979) or CHRISTOPHER CROSS - SAILING (1979) or WALTER EGAN - MAGNET & STEEL (1978) or RUBERT HOLMES - ESCAPE (THE PINA COLADE SONG) (1979) or RANDY VANWARNER - JUST WHEN I NEED YOU MOST (1979) {Something about the Late 70's A Lot of Soft Rock Classics Came Out .. They were Great Love Song}
The irony is that Rod's album at the time was called Atlantic Crossing, and was an attempt to essentially cross the Atlantic and make it big in America, so to put a song on it about being homesick is, well, rather perverse...
Lots of comments here regarding the song and the backdrop, which is understandable, but for me this video’s ethos is the lady’s reaction and interpretation of what she is hearing (for the first time?). Sailing is a pop record and possibly quite different to her usual taste, but it resonated with her and moved her visibly at times. That she recognised the song’s underlying meanings and bought into it was heartwarming to see.
Rod Stewart is awesome ! 😎🎙 Check-out a much younger Rod with his group The Faces ! Request: The Faces - ( I Know ) I'm Losing You ....live BBC Songs on Saturday ✌😉 Rod with Ronnie woods,Ronnie Lane & on drums Kenny Jones ! That's alot of talent on one stage !
Not a whole lot to dislike about Rod, his music varies. Ive seen him live 8 times and the man does the entire concert, no breaks or BS, song after song. I wasn’t a fan until my late 20’s, but I became hooked. Maggie Mae is all time favorite.
Saw Rod Stewart live,we sisters went our moma always wanted to see him.as tribute to her we went, of course cried when this song played 😢😢she loved Rod Stewart I miss her every day
This song is to be played at my funeral one day. My children are already aware. Love Rod Stewart & this song. Has me thinking of “home” & to be near my loved ones in Heaven yet yearning also to be near those I’d left behind here on Earth in life.
He's singing to his love, sailing across the seas so that he can be with her, near her leaving his home, his country, seeking freedom from his country to the US!! What a great, great song!!!
