Firstly, apologies for the terrible camera angle but at least you get a nice look at the Rodzilla T-Rex and a decent view of the rifle under recoil. After 5 months without shooting in Sydney, NSW due to COVID lockdown, community sport is finally back on and that means range time! During the lockdown I had a new 284 Shehane build completed and have now started fireforming cases before getting stuck into load development. Conditions today were warmish - about 29 degrees Celsius, sunny with a light but switchy headwind (enough to put you into the 5 ring (9 ring for any US shooters watching). Distance was 500 metres.
Rifle specifics: McMillan Kestros ZR, Borden BRMXD action, left bolt right port, TriggerTech Diamond trigger with a RAD system fitted at the back. Barrel is a Bartlein, 8.5, left hand twist, 4 groove in 400MOD steel and finished at 32" and has a Dan Bramley tuner attached. March 10-60x56 HM scope sitting on top in March Gen III rings.
Fireforming load today was 49gr of RL16 behind Berger 168gr VLDs. I run Peterson 284 brass and had some RWS primers lying around which I used. Surprised at how well this grouped as I have less than 100 rounds down the tube and haven't even started load development yet. Hopefully good signs to come. If anyone is wondering about the Rodzilla T-Rex front rest, yes they're expensive but it's easily the best coaxial I've had the pleasure of using. It's incredibly easy to set up and adjustments are very easy. The joystick has a level of resolution I've not used before and there's an awful lot of adjustment available which is a good thing IMO.
