@@upendrasankpal even federer did lose the wimbledon final against Djokovic i loved every second of that game. We don't know how long he is going to play so we have to enjoy every single point of him, every stroke
@@someguyjr4525 it’s crazy how I found your comment that you posted one hour ago on a 2 year old video and we’re both Pittsburgh sports fans and tennis fans 😂😂😂
He is a great Tennis player, but I wouldn't say he gave me relief from my sadness or depression. His existence to me, and to billion others, is so minute, no one would care which era or time he existed.
Kwake yeah but Federer is a special, rare, talented, influential, honorable, and humble human, so much so that other humans are proud to see what he has done and are happy to have walked the earth the same time he has
There is no one like Roger Federer. He is the GOAT. No one can ever take that from him. I will miss his beautiful smile, friendly attitude and stunning tennis.
snentz sounds more like your personal opinion doesn't it? I could find people who who would say that about federer as well.... You could say they're equal at best
And he cried when he lost to nadal 09 AO not making fun of him just shows his passion he loves the game with all his heart he won next year 2010 vs Andy lol Rodger will always be the best as a Nadal fan
Exactly what I was thinking. You can tell he was postponing his thanks to his team and family for how long he could and hardly ever looking at them because he knew he’d get emotional as soon as he’d mention them. What a man.
He holds his tears until the last moment but eventually he broke his sobs, 20th grand slams at 36 yr. hats off the sportsman of the century, no Federer no 🎾
Federer has played a large part of his career with a different pressure. Already the GOAT he’s had history to contend with, and pressure, in a way Rafa & Novak haven’t. Genuinely believe it has cost him a couple of slams (in the way same happens to Novak at US Open). Love them all but I think when all 3 are playing at their absolute best, Federer is the greatest.
Its like Christianity without Jesus Christ, it just doesn't work without him.I believe they should end the open era officially and start a whole new era post-covid of tennis, so that Federer will always remain the Greatest player of the open era, because he wont be the greatest for very much longer :(
"Loved all around the world" This is so true, Roger is easily the most loved tennis player there has ever been. Watching this now and it brings tears to my eyes like it did three years ago, what a gem of a player and a man.
I can't think of another figure in all of pro sports that let us in like Roger. Plenty of likable, affable, very ethical athletes, but none so open hearted as Roger.
Even those who are not their fans or those who simply do not follow tennis can not but applaud it... I'm a Djokovic fan but Federer is the best. I have to say it
Great comment! Federer is my favourite as gameplay, but i always say that Djokovic is one of the best ! He is not only a great player as forehand, backhand ecc,he has a great fight spirit and not only trough a single match but in his entire career. i read his book and i think he deserves more slams too. I hope that this sport let us see other tournament with champions like big 4 and others also !
I am a Rafa fan, but it is impossible not to be touched by the talent, the humility and the sportsmanship of this champion. Such a class act Roger. Congrats and Thank you for allowing us to witness your greatness! I am not sure he has ever been this ovated and this emotional elsewere than in Melbourne.
It’s related to the death of his coach. So he cries every time he wins or looses here remembering his death. I don’t remember the exact incident but saw it on one of his ESPN interviews.
Jan 02 yeah its Peter Carter his former australian coach who detected the talent in roger and guided him a lot, but unfortunately he died in an accident just couple of weeks before his 1st grand slam title at wimbledon, so that hurts him that he could not see Roger being so successful with 20 slams now. He often gets emotional due to that, his death was the actual point where roger started working hard
You can hear him choked up the whole time, really shows how much he loves the sport. Man, what a career. An extremely humble person, talented player, true gentleman, and an incredible champion. We will all be sad the day he hangs up his racquet.
sithjohn80 not sure if he got emotional because of the possibility of retiring later this year and not coming back. he didn't say hell be back next year like he said last year. I dunno maybe he was just emotional about the win
Later he explained that it was a nervous day for him and he was unsure whether he would win or what'd happen if he lost. And also the thought of thanking everyone at the ceremony is just too heavy and emotional for him. He's just genuinely thankful and emotional that everyone's love n support keeps him going.
i think that was a part of the reason for his emotion. At this stage of his career, he just wouldn't know if it was his last Aus Open, hence the emotion i guess. Hope he plays next year Aus open & win its again !
Nah he always cries, I thought he was gunna retire about 3 Wimbledons ago, my new guess is after next years Wimbledon, one thing that's not a guess is that he'll be pretty emotional that day
Behind every good man is an incredible woman. Not only is she his business manager, wife, mother their of 2 sets of twins, she's a former tennis player herself so she understands what he goes through.
Once a Federer fan, always a Federer fan. The guy is a pure class act. So happy to witness this amazing man in my lifetime. Thank you Roger Federer for setting such a high benchmark of class, eloquence and sportsmanship in global sports. May you and your family be blessed forever, Legend.
Thank you Roger Federer for influencing our lives, thank you for providing joy, and excitement to my life for 15 years, and counting.. I love the sport both watching and playing because of your elegant style, smart game, perseverance and sportsmanship. You are a legend.
Growing up my Grandma rooted for this man every single Australian open, but she's gone now & seeing him win always warms my heart cause she was such a fan.
Those who are saying Federer has played just trash today and win... just want to say, u guys are giving him more credit rather than insulting... coz even if we take ur words in count that means roger don't even need to play good to win a grand slam...even his trash performance is better than the best of others..thanks for giving fed so much credit... as a #FedHead I appreciated that.
He only played badly in the 4th set though. Certainly he didn't push himself hard like he did last year against Nadal, but today he played well enough to win.
Please take this in not a serious note. This man is the GOAT and a privilege to watch him play. Can you imagine, if he is so emotional now, how will he be when he'll give his retirement speech? Hell, I think he won't be able to do it. He'll just say, sorry man, I can't retire, I'd rather die on the tennis court!
He's crying because he knows how much hard work he's put in over the years and its been his whole life , all the sacrifices he's made and hard work along with his great gift has broken records. Incredible dedication on his part.
Just amazing and emotional. When Federer did not win a grand slam from 2013 to 2016 in a 4 year span, many people doubted if Federer's time is over, but Federer never quit and proved he is the real greatest of all time. there will never ever be another Federer. Congrats for the God of Tennis.
Mengyao Fan I agree with everything u said i am a huge Rodger fan but u should be saying God rather then god.he is the only Legend that this generation will produce well done sir Rodger Federer
How honestly he admits that the crowd overwhelms him and makes him go out of practice and keeps him on his toes... You can just feel how motivated yet nervous he is getting on to the court every single time inspite of all these years at the top. Just shows his love for the game and desire to excel every single time. And he always does so with his head held high... even when he loses. Love Roger! You are beyond words and truly magical!
1Step 1Footprint Then you must have missed the Basel 2013 final ceremony.. People in the stadium as those outside, myself included, felt like he was truly done after that bad year he was having due to his back issues and reaching the final in his home town but still falling short was like an allegory of his inevitable collapse. The love he got there, I've personally never seen. The announcer had to put a halt to it. It really was epic.. Of course he has proven every haters and fans wrong and he'll be no1 again but honestly at this stage, it doesn't even matter. The guy's just too much!
I always think.."what a shame for any tennis player that peaked in the era of Roger, Rafa, and Nole era... only Murry and Wawrinka have gotten a proper sniff of the slams.
I am sure that world will never see a tennis star like him ever. The reason why the whole world loves him is because besides being the greatest ever, he is so very humble. Congratulations Roger!
In the history of any sports ever, Federer is the greatest of the greats. He's already in the same league with Pelé, Ali, Phelps, Jordan, Bubka, Gretzky, Brady and many others. But he is goat among goats, the epitome of sportsmanship, excellence and being a role-model. He's over and beyond time, eras, records and competition. He was immortalized years ago and he kept going, ups and downs and now - more than ever - he is here to show once again that the greatest stars in the Universe do not go out gently and calmly. They became a Supernova and become the shiniest objects on the sky.
Gábor Szabó Brady does not belong in the same league as Roger. Remove Brady from the system and he'd never have had the success he has. Besides, four of his five wins are tainted by corruption.
+ManCi okedz wtf did u mean by... "in tennis only"? lol of course hes a tennis player therefore he is being pertain as the GOAT... "in tennis"... gtfoh idiot
NO. For Pete's sake, we all know Fed is an emotional guy. We have seen him cry NUMEROUS times after matches, both as the winner and the runner-up. Please go and watch the press conference he did after the match - he explained why he was so emotional on this occasion.
@@casey4664 thats the dumbest logic ever. The greatest tennis player of all time would convert one of the two championship points. Not have a mental struggle and succumb to nerves. to be fair the first point federer choked, and the second championship point he was outplayed
If Muhammad Ali was the "Greatest" of the twentieth century , then I have no hesitation in declaring Roger Federer the greatest sportsman of the twenty-first century He'll probably still be winning in 2199.
Seeing him cry at the trophy ceremony after winning made me realise how much winning a Grand Slam still means to him. I know he still loves tennis and loves winning, but I didn't expect him to be so emotional from winning his 20th GS. It made me even happier and brought a tear to one of my eyes :)
How does this guy keep going with all these younger, stronger, fitter, powerful players trying to dethrone him? He is a testament to dedication to his craft and self-belief. He has got to be the greatest sportsman of all time.
I love Roger. Even after winning so much, it still means so much to him. His love and respect for tennis is so heartfelt and palpable. He's like a 20 year old winning his first slam. Just amazing. I have so much respect for his game, him, and his contribution to tennis.
Then surely didn't watch his 1st slam at Wimbledon he literally sobbed there he couldn't speak. That's what makes him special after all these years and success he has the same passion for winning same unchanged passion
What a legend man! I started watching tennis because of Federer...! Tears of joy! So much hard work, passion and dedication. The love for the game is unimaginable!! This man is just beyond words! 20 GS titles.. tf! Unimaginable!
As a Novak Djokovic fan here, I would like to congratulate Roger on his milestone and achievements. He will forever be the people's champion, the face of tennis and the benchmark!!!!
Came here after Nadal clinches his 21st, it is so beautiful that their rivalry no one compares just like CR7 and Messi. No haters just pure excitement.
Can't believe that somebody could be a world champion and so humble at the same time..... Doesn't happen too often...... Luv u federer.......U r the reason I started having interest in this game.
