Weakest era of tennis, so its obvious he'll look good....doesn't seem that good against Novak though xd

@@user-ex1iq3hq2z 2003-2007 was the strongest era: Safin, Hewitt, Roddick, Ferrero, Davydenko, Nalbandian are of the same age of Federer. Their was more competition: Safin (2x GS), Hewitt (2x GS), Roddick (1x GS), Ferrero (1x GS), Davydenko(1x WTF), Nalbandian (1x WTF).

The beginning of Roger’s prime! His win over Agassi in that close round robin match saving match points unleashed Roger’s confidence and he went into destruction mode through the rest of the tournament, easily beating players like Nalbandian who gave him trouble in the past, and absolutely dismantling Agassi in the final! Just devastating form from Roger and one of all-time favorite performances in a tournament I’ve seen of him!

Lived in Houston at the time and remember being at both Agassi matches. A true passing of the torch moment for me as Agassi was my favorite player and both of these matches started my fandom for Roger. Still pinch myself - can't believe I was witnessing the beginning of greatness.

Man if there ever was a genius of their craft, Federer is surely one of those. I just can't comprehend how assertive and at the same time freely he was playing.

I dunno they were good players but their health was ruined by polyester strings which increased the amount of spin in the game and caused injuries. The overall level got higher from 2007-2008 onwards, you can see that pretty easily.

Why is he playing Agassi twice?
@thomaskiely6471
@thomaskiely6471 8 месяцев назад
Because it’s a round robin tournament. Agassi won against the other players in his pool and made his way through to the semis, where they then play the other top 2 from the other side of the draw….Agassi won his match to make the final, as did Fed.
