Low bounce, fast off the surface. This was Wimbledon until they changed the court in 2008. Grass bowed down to clay court players, but Roland Garros will never ever think of lowering the bounce and increasing the pace off the surface. Grass court tennis has been destroyed now.
The court just wears down from use throughout the 2 weeks. They should have a unused court just for the final. It's basically clay by the final. I mean look at the court. It's tore up. The baseline era is hard on the grass. Watch federer beat sampras back in 01 they served and volleyed like every point
Remember that the history of that final could have changed if Nadal, with his serve, would have won the second set and the match would have been tied instead of Federer being 2 sets up. A great opportunity wasted by the young Spanish player at that time.
