Roger gets alot of slack for attitude but this man have never been anything but his authentic self for 60+ years.. soo ill always repect him as a songwriter and artist no matter what
He gets all that slack because he can be a total schmuck at times, and he deserves it. It is actually very sad that he never came to terms with his father's death, but that is no excuse for the way he treats people.
He is an amazing artist no matter what has happened in his past. We all have things we need to deal with and sometimes can all be egotistical. He is a creative genius and those who hate don't hear the messages within his music. This is the music for free thinking people, those who can't handle it can continue to scroll on their iPhone and numb themselves watching others hate each other.
Whatever….. is this what you feel when you listen to Pink Floyd, Hatred? I know I don’t want to feel hatred & all the NEGATIVE feelings Roger is pushing. Not to mention the complete & utter depression he’s focused his music on. Seriously, he called Ronald Regan a war criminal in the name of Pink Floyd 🤦♂️ …. 1 day he will run out of “presidents & politicians” to blame & “his music” will have no meaning at all
Roger. You, my dear, have been the voice of humanity that I have followed for so many years. I f'n love you for the artist and creative genius that you are! I am one who speaks the truth no matter the opposition! I have gained my courage through your efforts and I thank you! I will be in Cincinnati, wheelchair seating - balcony, hanging onto your heart and soul with mine. ❤ (btw- I was in ICU all last week but they let me out for this).💝❤
He is misguided . Putin will NEVER walk out of Ukraine like America did in the middle East . Putin is playing for keeps . If he gets away with Ukraine his appetite will only increase . Waters is a peace at any pricer.
He doesn’t vote, he can’t vote & holds no legal citizenship, this man reaps all the benefits he opposes & uses his “art & politics” to fatten his own pockets, he’s a walking paradox & an enigma in his own right….it’s mind boggling…. (Edit) it’s insane that anyone supports him, Roger Waters is about Roger Waters, your thoughts & beliefs don’t matter, it’s all About Roger Waters 😑🤦♂️
@@jakehunt3392 Perhaps you might direct your ire more justifiably at the likes of Neil Young and Bono, who truly more deserve it than Roger. They're ALL rich, but they are not ALL bitches, like those two........
@MetallicBill You love it when he dresses up like Hitler on stage and praises Assad and Putin for committing war crimes? Not a lot of love there for the Ukrainian people or the Syrians that were gassed to death by Assad. Selective Marxist love. You all love Che you support Russia, Iran, and the CCP. Nothing else matters, feel the love.
Two Suns In The Sunset is one of the best Floyd songs. The line "ashes and diamonds, foe and friend, we were all equal in the end" still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
It's when you hear, "and you'll never hear their voices", and the children's voice saying, "Daddy, Daddy". That's when it gives me goosebumps! I love the drums at the end as well!
This is a prime example of why idk how these guys that wrote that and just a whole album about life in general can't put their shit behind them especially at their age. I'd love to see the remaining 3 members have a fresh start with eachother and write about life again now with their experiences with what ever time we may have left with them. It would be epic
@@Son-Of-David1990 Sadly that won't happen. They are like a married couple who have drifted apart. The only thing in common is their "child" Pink Floyd, who has their attention when required, but the child has grown and will at some point no longer need their input. The estates will take care of that, and I'm sure that will be interesting as I doubt Rogers family will have too much control over what happens, but I bet Polly Sampson and David's family will make damn sure things go the way they want. It could get messy again!
@@zakdhabalia8280 I missed the first hour sadly bc I had to drive 5 hours, but the half that I saw I had mixed feelings about. He def wants to shine light on his solo music which I don’t know much of, and the crowd was a mix of a ton of white ppl many of who were hecklers once he had hella political messages (which like obviously, I don’t know what those ppl expected but they kept killing the vibe for me). I was sad that he didn’t play Pigs even tho Pigs were a huge part of the visuals & he still has the inflatable pig that hovers around the crowd & most of the Pink Floyd songs were knocked out at the beginning. Also he finished with a Bob Dylan cover w no encore so I thought that was kinda bizarre. But again, Roger is a legend so I was just happy to be there.
@@rlyhot Interesting thanks very much. It does seem like he gets more antagonism but I'm surprised that its at the concerts themselves. I saw him doing The Wall in London and his voice was struggling even then but it was a fantastic concert. David Gilmour came on as a suprise guest and did guitar for Comfortably Numb standing on top of the Wall. V moving.
Most are unaware but Pink Floyd was, and will be, the soundtrack of all our lives, until our transcendence into The Great Gig in the Sky. Long live Pink❤️
@@Logan912 And the reality of the situation is that while Roger Waters was a big part of their success, he was not all there was to it he has essentially said in the past. At one point, he claimed he was Pink Floyd and they were a "spent creative force", which is nonsense. He was only one of four members, and when he quit they went on to further success without him.
For anyone who’s never seen or heard the recordings Roger & his band made during the danger days of covid lockdown you are really missing out. Each performance was especially touching to view at initial upload while quarantined, but no doubt still worth checking out. Absolutely beautiful & should definitely be made into an album🙏🏼
I just come to understand why you can write so much beautiful songs! Roger is such a sincere, understanding, pure spirit person! Thank you for being you 🙏
God bless Roger, Syd, David, Nick, Rick for all the music they created as Pink Floyd... The rest is history. No one alone could reach the level of the band, although their solo albums and performances are fantastic! Unique Pink Floyd forever.
Thank you for contributing to the rising of humanity Roger. YOU hit the nail on the head. Thank you! Thank you for caring about humanity and being the change you wish to see in the world!
Went to see This is not a Drill on 8/16 in DC and it was absolutely incredible. My wife and I have seen all of his shows in our area, and this was by far one of the most unique and interesting shows since he spoke to the fans from his heart via various stories and recollections. Of course the music was fantastic as it’s always been and always will be, but it was almost a more personal experience than previous shows like a The Wall and Us + Them. My only wish is that Roger Waters remains in good health so we can continue to see him and enjoy more of his new music. I’d love to see a future show of all of his solo work because I think in some ways I feel many of his solo music is incredible, even when compared to his work with Pink Floyd. What a generational talent he is.
rogers intelligence is far above mine,...and above most fans in my opinion,.....i appreciate all of his views, and i have always liked his music,.....and from what i have seen this tour is impressive in its presentation.
Well, in reality his first show on this tour he told half his audience to F*ck off to the bar if they don't agree with his ideology. So not to sure how much he honestly appreciates those who have helped bring him to the stardom he has earned.
@@natemurray311 no, the announcement didn't say "if you don't agree with me, f*ck off". The announcement said "if you don't want to hear about politics, f*ck off". It said absolutely nothing about having to agree with him.
One of the best interviews I have ever heard with Roger. I appreciate his humility and grace. Usually he’s not that forgiving lol, just “judging” (I hate using that word) from his previous interviews and his own videos of himself speaking. He was a little nicer than usual.
@@brianrichards4886 well I just witnessed a little bit of it on this video, I have never heard him talk like he did in this video. To me that was humble, not much and not long but it was there.
rogers shows are always top tier he wears his belief with pride and conviction i admire that i truly love roger makes the punk posers seem pretty sad now doesnt he still giving it go roger.
It's good that Jim and Roger reconnect - Jim is all over the Radio KAOS album and wish they had filmed a concert film back in the 80s, and songs like "The Powers That Be" are still relevant.
I doubt it'll happen, but another concert film out of this tour would be a treat. As someone outside of the US, I'd love to at least experience it in a cinema.
I really hope (against hope) that Roger sees this. Roger, you've captured how so many of us feel - you always have - and what I've seen on RU-vid looks and sounds incredible. Please bring this to Europe and the UK next year - the real deal, not just Hyde Park - and we'll see you in The Bar!
Thank you Roger. You are able to tap into the truth for millions of people around the world on, what always felt like, a uniquely personal level. That is one of your gifts and I am grateful to have received it. God bless you brother.
I never used to think much of Roger Waters, today I am in awe of Mr. Roger Waters and his incredible insight and wisdom, and the power to try and change thing's. He is by all sense of the word a great man. Thank you for your humanity brother!
@@CoolhandLukeSkywalkr : You bring your own problems on yourself and your race will do it again, it's just a matter of time, some people don't learn from history so they repeat it.
I'm so excited to see Roger live! And I'm so happy to hear that the lockdown recordings are probably going to end up as an album, I've been waiting for that announcement since Mother haha
Roger you are amazing and have given us a catalogue of music that will continue to reverberate around the world of or many years to come allowing new generation s to experience yourself and together with pink Floyd
Just attended the Milwaukee performance and it was amazing...Best event I have ever attended....I dont agree with all his views but hes correct about caring and expressing his views...But that show was top notch world class legendary
Thanks Roger. This is why I have always loved the pink floyd lyrics. I personally do what I can to educate people isf the opportunity presents itself. DO NOT COMPLY.
Roger, you have a beautiful voice, a great singer, one of the very best songwriters and composers I have ever heard. I hope you come to Dublin, Ireland again. I go to your concerts every time you play here. You see through the BS better than absolutely every other artist I know. You are honest and fearless of speaking the truth. I am grateful that at least one, just one of my favourite artists from my last 45 years has remained honest. The last song from the last real Pink Floyd album Two Suns In The Sunset" is a prophetic masterpiece.
Nope. He called out Obama's bullshit in his recent The Wall tour and film. I recall them playing one of Obama's foreign policy speeches right before Another Brick Part 3 and Pink completing the wall.
He critiques anyone in power. "Always question authority". Remember, his family was ripped apart by WW2, so he has an intense personal interest in anyone or any group in power that would use military force for their gain. I can't imagine what his childhood must have been like - aside from listening to The Wall about 10,000 times. Study up on BDS. Change your attitude about the Israeli abuse towards Palestinians. There's only one reason why the USA takes Israel's side, and it's military. If you're already on board, please excuse my recruiting tactic.
@@nectarinedreams7208 mmmm, Biden will get his turn in This is not a Drill. And it's a hard one, a very hard one indeed. Not something Biden would like to see or hear..You can find it on Y/T already.45 will be present too, of course ,no doubt on that one..
I love Roger. One of the best musicians ever. I Just wish him, and Gilmore could put their differences aside and make Floyd what it once was. No matter, Love Waters. i HOPE YOU COME TO CLEVELAND SOON..
Richard Wright is dead so it can never be what it once was and Waters is continually sniping about lyrics written by Gilmour's wife and complaining that they don't put his stuff on the PINK FLOYD website.Get over it Roger, you LOST the court case and lost the right to be part of PINK FLOYD as a result.
Saw Roger/This is Not a Drill in October at the Tacoma Dome, Washington… PHENOMENAL 🤯🤯🤯 SHOW!!! I came out of the show not quite the same as when I went in. And have to mention… I grew up listening to Jim Ladd during my formative Rock n Roll years in SoCAL on KLOS and KMET… GREATEST R n’ R DJ ever! Shine on you crazy diamonds 💎💎
Roger is so eloquent and gracious and he looks so damn good. The show was fantastic and I savored being there. He seems young and vital and appears to be able to tour again. What I would have given to shake his hand. Thank you, Roger Waters.
Jim Kerr… your voice is so baked into my consciousness, all those PLJ years, I miss (real) radio so much! So good to see your face while the words are coming out.
Funny, when I heard this his voice reminded me of Jim Ladd the DJ who Rog used on Radio KAOS. Made me want to listen to the album again. I'm so happy he's playing a track from it on TINAD...
@@roadiethegamecat4124 You’re exactly right. There’s a similar dj style and voice there. The Radio Kaos tour, the first time I saw it, alone for god’s sake, can you believe? It was sick how effective it was. When the lights went out. I will never ever ever forget it.
We love you Roger. You are the best. All the support. Keep speaking out the truth. Please keep saying on stages you perform that we, the public, wants the freedom of Julian Assange NOW NOW NOW 🙏🙏🙏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤
Roger's past solo stuff, Radio Kaos & my personal favourite Pro's & Con's of Hitchhiking, Absolutely fantastic. Just listening to this the guy who's interviewing Roger funny enough sound's a bit like the guy who talk's on the radio on Radio Kaos. ( I wonder).
Ready to see them in Raleigh. Seen him there during the wall tour. If you are a fan and have not seen them, need to go if any way possible. Time is getting short.
Roger doesn't have an OBE, MBE, a knighthood and all that diabolical BS. That should be the number one thing you should remember. Roger is the real deal.🎶❤️
Saw Roger in Pittsburgh. Best concert I have been to since his “Us + Them” tour. He recited his intro to the song “The Bar” and it was well received. We were all part of a community of like minded people. It felt good to belong in a community of one. I love his politics.
@@TomCaseyTroy Roger is very strong minded and believes in himself, he is more than qualified to state his opinions, especially to the uneducated masses. Agree or disagree we can all learn from him
@@aakar88 I’m more than certain that he is knowledgeable about what he’s talking about. But he does assume that people who do not agree with him are just drunkard fools as opposed to being just as educated on the issues but disagree, which is more than likely in many instances the case.
@@TomCaseyTroy Agree, but Roger being passionate about his beliefs is an important part of the public character he has constructed. No matter what he says I believe he (most importantly) is a man of peace (and a heck of a musician and the soul of Pink Floyd)
It’s a shame when ego’s don’t see or understand the bigger picture! Pink Floyd was the sum of all its parts. Individually these sensationally talented musicians have never reached the heights they achieved together!
@@playgog2678 The rest of the band was just typical Labour party leftwing, but Roger Waters was always a Marxist. He was raised up in an anti-Semitic household.
@@playgog2678 Roger doesn't/didn't get along with any of his 4 ex-band mates, they all hate him, as do his 4 ex-wives, nobody that actually knows him thinks he's cool.

Before the Us + Them tour I heard the ultimate take on Rog. "Roger Waters shows are the best time you will ever have in your life, being miserable". 100% accurate. GLASSES! I knew you weren't superhuman! LMAO.
The hippies in the 60’s were also going to save the world, but unfortunately things happen to fast in our short life to do anything significant to really do shit.Life goes on until it doesn’t so enjoy it while you can and do what you can to help it along.
Whether or not you agree with his political views or not, he really knows how to create a great concert, while getting his point across in an entertaining and literally awe-inspiring way. I saw his 2022 tour and it was the most effect-filled concert I’ve ever seen. It’s like a concert and a live show in one.
I forgot - THE BEST, MULTIMEDIA CONCERT/SHOW - WHATEVER, THAT I WILL EVER SEE WAS IN 'CANDLESTICK PARK'aka 'AT&T' had whored the name for a while then & as a real Japanese Zero flew, maybe 6' over my jumping reach IF I was standing on the arms of the seats & leaped to grab it, dive-bombing the stage as the night fell & the show began! It wasn't an hallucination; that zipcord was shot silently (I saw no cable laying on the seats nor in the air outstretched as the Sun sank further around the horizon to the West, I think & it was not my first 'big' show - only the most amazing. Two weeks later, it was the big segment on 60 Minutes. Amazing!
He can probably take credit for shaping the mind of this older guy when I came to love his lyrics in 1980. I still have 'The Wall' in my car cd changer. He is the vocalist of Floyd for me.
