This is one of my earlier videos my b it it's a little rough around the edges.

Hades is a roguelike for people that don't really like roguelikes that much. A bit easier, less grindy and with an amazing story and art direction that usually roguelike games don't have.

Hades is awesome (got it on Switch)! Some times it amazes me how video games do more justice to ancient Greece than actuall history books. I am from Greece and you can't believe the bullshit our schools used to teach us (mostly things they "neglected" to teach).

As for Hades, as someone who struggle to play most games for more than 30 hours I’ve put nearly 500 into hades, it just doesn’t get old and by this point it’s sequel might be the first game I ever buy in early access.

If you love Hades, I cannot recommend the rest of Supergiant's games enough. They all have the same excellent soundtracks, all similarly fit spectacularly with their games' different settings and tones while still having this strong Supergiant identity. Pyre is my personal favourite, in a way it's my version of your Hades; it made me like visual novels and understand their true potential as games. I promise, nothing will make you cry winning a game of ritual basketball like Pyre will.

I've been gaming for over 25 years and have never tried a rogue lite/like (idk the difference) game. Hades was my introduction to that genre. Holy fucking fuck. I found that upon playing it, I couldn't stop. HADES is if "just one more run" was a game. What a fucking banger. Can't wait for the second one

Cool thanks gotta listen to Eternal Reign this afternoon. I waited until I Hades came to consoles and I put around 90 hours into it without playing anything else until I popped the platinum. It was an amazing experience.

Just for people who like games like this, its genre is a rogue**lite**. The difference being roguelike you lose everything and you have to master the game to beat it, roguelite is roguelike but something persists over runs to make the next easier, or at least thats my understanding of the differences. Some off-the-dome examples of roguelite: - Hades - Dead cells Roguelike: - Noita - Delver

Hey you high key-lighting, NakeyJakey spiritual-sucessor. I just wanna say your hot take on church was spot on. How CRUCIFIXION has become benign is a travesty.

I was hooked on Hades hard at first. But as the upgrades started coming in slower, and they became more about mutually selective choices rather than just stacking on more and more buffs, my enjoyment started falling off hard. Because when you aren't getting new stuff, it's just that roguelike chore grind of same rooms, same enemies, etc that I typically don't care for either. Once I'd seen every section and boss, and tried every weapon aspect, all that kept me going was the excellent plot. But good as it was, plot alone just isn't as fun as being both interested in plot and gameplay. So yeah, Hades truly shines in plot and very early game. 11/10 for plot, character writing, etc specifically, and 10/10 for the first 10-15 hours of gameplay overall. But I'd give a 6/10 in terms of total enjoyment after completing the entire story, as actually playing was mostly a dull slog once there was nothing new to see or get or upgrade, punctuated only by bits of new plot and dialog here and there. The actual game content ran out of steam waaaayyyyy ahead of the plot content and that dragged the whole experience way down overall for me. Really hoping that Hades 2 manages to balance the plot and gameplay content ratio better.

Edmund McMillan hasn't made like 1000 hours of content for nothing (absolutely love Hades btw. It's the game that got me into roguelikes)

Rogue Legacy is pretty amazing - recommend giving it a try. Better than Dead Cells. Also, all of Supergiant's games are great (not all are roguelikes) and Bastion is a personal favorite.

Somewhere around the 7-minute mark you had to mentioned how it has less randomness than most roguelikes. I think that's my problem with the genre, is that when everything is completely randomized it doesn't feel like there is any sense of accomplishment. Play your heart out for a while and lose to a gigantic boss? Well you might not see them for a few more gameplays

I like the art style and music but I'm so bad at the game I stopped playing it (I'm terrible at rouge games and hate playing them). But it's so good that even though I stopped playing it and probably won't really play the game again I don't feel like I wasted my money (haven't even beaten the first boss).
