4:50 - Somewhat disagree there; it is, in my opinion, perfectly valid to be disappointed that you've waited for for more than half a decade for a game that then ends up using the same weapons with the same movesets against the same enemies with a new coat of paint. I'm a huge Souls fan, but with more than 300 hours ingame in Elden Ring, I still find myself disappointed by the fact that it often doesn't feel particularly original. Creative stagnation is a valid complaint. "Be stoked that you're getting more DS3" is a perfectly valid opinion to have if you really love DS3, but I was personally hoping for Elden Ring to be more of a unique experience. Same goes for boss repetition, recycling the same basic enemies over and over again until the endgame, recycling the same dungeon tilesets, being unable to come up with more creative solutions for dungeons other than "beat up monsters and/or pull lever", etc. I think a lot of us veteran Souls fans have a lot of legitimate complaints about Elden Ring, and I think the fact that it's TOO MUCH like its predecessors is a valid complaint, especially when you consider how both Sekiro but also Bloodborne actually mixed up the formula and came up with experiences that felt like so much of an evolution that Elden Ring ended up feeling like a step backward.

i’m very surprised it got as popular as it did. I took a break from playing games to focus on music around 2009 and didn’t get back into them until 2021 I missed a lot of games series and DS was one of them. I absolutely love these games but I’m surprised game series this difficult made it big in the West. The japanese used to always send us the easy versions of their games when I was a kid in the 90s.
When I first picked Dark Souls I spent 4 hours doing nothing, then I finally get it that I need go to the tower and kill my first boss. Since I am in love with this game.
I got Dishonored 2 during the 2021 Steam Summer sale. My love for that game is THE reason I never got a refund on Redfall. I preordered Redfall and yeah, it's.. Not that great, nor special. But Arkane as a company is my favorite, with every title they've ever released being a game I found myself genuinely enjoying. I view it as my way of paying them back for the most wonderful experience I've ever had in gaming. I kept my favorite game slot open for over 10 years and finally, D2 came in to take the slot. I sincerely hope that others can enjoy the Dishonored series even HALF as much as I have. ...I'm iffy on DOTO but that's not the point, here- Everyone deserves to experience these games if this is a genre they're even slightly into. I have a combined 900 something hours over 1 and 2, with around 90 hours in DOTO, and I'm STILL doing new things and finding new reactions/changes. Please pick at the very least D1 up if you haven't played it before, or D2 if you're on the fence about playing a less grim and dark sequel. Neither game will disappoint and leave you longing for another playthrough ASAP. :]
I've never heard anyone call TP nor the Spaceworld demo "realistic". From what i read, everyone was clamoring for "mature" which was why the initial backlash was so strong against WW.
I love how they go from doing whatever nonsense they want, bleeding money, giving the fans what they actually want, getting tons of success, then immediately going back to doing whatever they want and bleeding money again
<-------basically no one. I got halfway through the game originally and straight up quit..then came back a year later and here I am with maxed out character slots on Elden Ring and rerolling characters to make new builds in Shadow of the Erdtree.. game is a masterpiece.
Bought the Remastered six years ago when it released, passed the Gargouille thanks to the help of a friend and left it there Finally came back to this game after all this time and.. I'v had such a blast man, in only three days I cleared most of the first half of the game, got the Lordvessel and killed a few more bosses, it's such a great experience honestly
Wouldn't having the face buttons be attack also require you to let go of the right stick? But on top of that leave you at more of a disadvantage because you're alleviating control of your character during an attack? I would have to quickly switch between moving my camera and attacking constantly. Seems worse off
Games like metro 2033 is an interesting example of a game that has realistic graphics but kinda ”rough” graphics. Now metro exodus does have more standard realistic graphics, but there’s definitely some of that sharpness still there.
It succeeded for three reasons. 1) its challenging 2) combat mechanics are tight 3) atmosphere The atmosphere alone in this game left me wanting more. I had to see the whole game. The challenge is the roadblock to seeing it all. The combat mechanics make it worth learning. Fromsoft absolutely killing it cant change my mind
man, my history with Dark Souls have a weird start... when i`ve brought my Xbox-360, my mother allowed me to buy games that would fit within our budget, so, at the local game store of our town, i decided to buy some RPGs that were on discount, because it would either be like, Devil May cry or Skyrim, but i decided to go with Castlevania Lords of Shadow and Dark Souls 1, when i first played DS1 it went the classic way, i ignored the messages on the ground, i tried to brute force on the asylum's demon with the broken sword, to the point i almost got it and died, so then i rage quitted and started playing castlevania, after finishing with castlevania and starting raging trying the 110% the game, i decided to give Dark Souls another chance, but this time reading the messages... and boy oh boy, when i saw the message on the boss room telling me to try left, i felt so stupid man, and with the shield and sword i managed to kill the demon easily, and that carried me to most of the game, i didn`t rolled at all until i was like, collecting the last 2 lord souls to finish the game, because i didn`t understood the reason to roll, since i could just block enemy attack and attack after deflecting, man, i didn`t even learned to parry until i was almost on Gwyn, because i was having some difficulty with black knights, and tried to watch a guide and saw how good parrying was, man, if i could go back in time i would thank the store clerk who suggested me Dark Souls and Castlevania when i asked for good games that could fit on my budget 🤣🤣
I started watching, but then heard that "Dark Souls created a franchise" when Demons Souls was launched 4 years prior. I won't continue to watch a video when a information so crucial is wrong.

Man I hope next game is gonna merge the two formats. More unique dungeons and bosses. slightly less clutter and open world nonsense because having 3 open worlds in 1 game that are empty is a waste of time. a little more quality instead of quantity
TP's eerie and melancholy atmosphere are honestly iconic. It had a bit of bad press for being too easy after people started to recognize Wind Waker's genius, but now time has vindicated them both. It was the first Zelda I ever beat. I kinda like the Wiimote waggle sword slashes :3
I remember Dark Souls being my first foray into a different kind of game. Up to that point all I had played was halo, cod, muppets racing and Dark Souls absolutely BLEW MY MIND. It was so fkn hard but that dopamine hit after gibbing a boss was so so sweet
Caught this video by chance. I was dumbfoundingly impressed by the quality of the script, the production value and the editing. I thought to myself "This guy must have 10M+ subs with content like this" I looked and I haven't been more shocked by a sub count in my life. You should be the king of the hill of review youtubers.
