One of the allures of pre-ceramic rolex’s (particularly submariners and GMT’s) is the wear and tear that develops over the years (e.g., a couple of well-placed scratches and a faded aluminum bezel) makes the watch more aesthetically pleasing. It’s similar to what the Japanese call “wabi-sabi”-rustic simplicity and the beauty of that which is old or faded. In other words, a pre-ceramic can show the desirable effect of aging.
As for the SEL vs HEL, I have SEL and really love them, but the one thing I didn't consider was Swiss vs Swiss made dials. I kinda wish I had the lighter feel HEL with a more symmetrical Swiss only dial, but once I got my bracelet to fit and added the right amount of links, the SEL feels great. I think fit might be more of a factor in comfort/quality than SEL vs HEL
Do it fam!!! Scratch that itch!!! I finally got my 16610, slightly faded bezel, pressure tested authenticated, couple leather straps, and it's really been a one-watch collection for the past couple weeks!!!

The pre-ceramic itch was so strong for myself that I now only own aluminium-bezel watches (and the Explorer 39)! What about the 16600, does that not scratch the itch enough? 😂

@@SteelmoonWatches Yeah I know TK. He's partly trained in middle east. Picked up No4 at Harrods in 2019 as it was in their own top 5 best sellers. Beastly and nice if a little feminine. In the end gave it away to a friend who loved it. Recently, picked up Dior Homme Parfum at retail and SOTD :}
