Why would you buy a fake? Just to flex? That’s really shallow. I didn’t know as much about watches and I thought maybe a fake would be alright. They look just as beautiful. But the craftsmanship isn’t there and it’s not special so why in the hell would you spend the money? I’d rather just buy a durable timex. But for the craftsmanship and value of a Real Rolex I would spend the money if I could

Because a really convincing fake from China will cost you around 500 bucks while The real thing will cost you several Grand. If you want a Rolex Daytona for example it would set you back 30 grand or more. While obviously everyone would prefer to have the real thing, a 500 dollar convincing replica is the next best option.You buy a Rolex not just as an investment but as a status symbol and Nobody at the bar or the club or at your office is going to know the difference between the replica and the real thing. To anyone else your 500 dollar watch is 30 grand. If you like the style and you want something flashy but don't have the money, a clone is your only option.

And then there are hundreds of other watch manufacturers that make real watches for under 1000 that are easy to get. I don’t get why everybody is obsessed with Rolex. They make ugly boring watches. Buying a fake one make’s literally no sense.

Nobody gets their watch serviced more than a fake watch collector, lol. They’re constantly talking about servicing and broken clones on the forums.

Well buy the fake for hundreds of pounds and when you are tired of it you will find you have lost nearly all the money as they are literally worthless, so in the end more expensive than a real watch. And you can get a vintage watch with GREAT quality for what a good copy of a Rolex cost. Not a vintage Rolex but maybe even an Omega of equivalent quality, and that watch will probably just increase in value… I am pretty sure that 99% of everyone that buy a fake Rolex will end of getting disappointed one way or another.

@@truxton1000 I dont buy the watches for the value. I buy them because I like them. Technically the Rolex is not necessarily better, as all the parts except the adjust are interchangeable. Let me be clear, I would buy the original .... if they would let me. I'm not going to be treated like shit again by a Rolex AD and I'm not going to gamble going grey market, that is flooded by fakes. FYI, currently globally 4 in 5 Rolexes are fake. So yes a fake it'll be and no one is able to tell. By the way a Rolex 5 year service will cost you more than a super clone, which I'll happily service myself. So if you are in it for the money, this is way more cost effective. With the current decline you probably find that you are lucky if you even get 70% of the purchase price after 5 years. So I dare to say that buying a clone lower end tier Rolex will be more profitable.

I just got into watches and bought myself an Invicta Pro Diver, I liked. I wont buy a fake Rolex but I liked the design, so the interior is made with a seiko movement and for my first automatic watch I don't think I did a bad choice.

A $500 Seiko is much more reliable than a $500 fake. The fakes are literally just polished turds. They’re unreliable cheap watches that have been nicely finished.

This comparison with Porsche is so incredible because its true. I was with couple of my friends few days ago on poker night and 3 of them had rolexes and one had tudor and omega. All of them are genuine. I am the poorest one from the squad but not that poor that i coudlnt afford a sub if i really wanted to. I was wearing a 100usd submariner replica but bit the worst one. They coudlnt say it was a fake or anything. Incredible, i can just imagine how higher end replicas would look even better.

It does, the price you pay for an expensive watch is in the details, specially the movement but also everything else. Anyone that has actually used a fake watch as a daily watch for a year or two can confirm that they often deteriorate considerably, despite what they look like brand new.

Great idea, your replica will lose you money and could land you in jail if you're not disclosing it when trying to sell, while the real Rolex could potentially increase in value, making you money instead. Big brain move, but hey, whatever makes you feel more important. lol

@@cy9nvs I agree 100%, there are many reasons for not getting these fakes, the reasons you mention is not to be ignored. Personally the biggest reasons for me is that I feel disappointment when I look at any fake watch, plus the economic loss that comes with it at the very good fakes will cost a lot of money and you will never get even close to what you paid back when you sell. There are literally millions of second watches for sale in the region of $200-1000, many VERY attractive in terms of both quality and appearance, why on earth pay that kind of money for something which is fake??
