We are heading to Bexar County, Texas, to the 187th District Court, where we find Judge Stephanie Boyd presiding over three hearings for a young man charged with Aggravated Robbery. The charge comes with a sentence of 9-99 years. He has spent thee past 3 years in treatment for his mental health and was just deemed competent to stand trial. He is hoping for a deviation from the guidelines and to walk away with probation.
The more interesting part, is the police report with the list of items stolen!

His sister is a lovely young lady, very well spoken. She is clearly looking out for her mentally compromised brother. That is a burden that no young person should have to bear. There will be more problems ahead no matter how this case is resolved. Her life will always be significantly impacted by his issues.

Idk why the comments on here are saying defendant doesn't have mental problems as if they know him personally. His sister said their mother took him to Dr's regularly to try to figure out what was wrong with him. I worked on the psych unit at our hospital, and children with schizophrenia are regularly misdiagnosed with adhd. I'm not saying he definitely is or isn't. I'm just surprised people have the confidence to say they know just by watching him for less than an hour, when he's allegedly medicated.

Girl, when you said he is what court services is for and you believe him, I completely agree. My son was involved in a robbery and my ex-husband and I were by his side thru it all, once the anger of having to drive to another province to pick him up from jail finally faded, we let him fight this on his own but we were always there with him. (I'm Canadian) he was a juvenile at the time, a silly teen but a teen, and he was with 2 friends. One of those friends completely changed his life around and I was so proud of him that I refused to force him to stay away from my son. I'm glad I made that choice. He was a wonderful influence on my son and they did their community hours together. Now, both boys are amazing young men, my son got an apartment and they became roommates, my son became a manager at a locally owned small company and runs the store in our city and hired his BF and roommate. I help them out when they need mom (my sons friend is like a son to me now) and they are fantastic law obeying citizens! I wish this young man all the best. 😁👍🏽🇨🇦

You do know the IRS expects you to pay taxes on the sale of illegal drugs and property you stole from someone, so it must have some value. Bribes If you receive a bribe, include it in your income. Illegal activities Income from illegal activities, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be included in your income on Form 1040, line 21, or on Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity. I disagree on 1 point Yes, people with true psychiatric illnesses do not choose to be that way but we have a growing number of people that use it as an excuse for bad behavior. I am tired of adults using their childhood as the reason for their problems. I certainly have empathy for them but it does not serve them well to let it ruin their life. At some point we all have to make a choice about the direction we want to go in life. The real problem here is families. We have people having children who are on drugs and alcohol, have poor parenting skills, have no respect for themselves or others, etc. And usually these children grow up and continue this cycle with their own offspring.

Judge Boyd must have a purse for every outfit. (I get it - I have medical alert bracelets for all of my clothes). At first I thought "Why would she leave her purse up there like that for anyone to steal? Then it dawned on me that it was pretty safe. Law enforcement is all around her. Ain't nobody getting away with her purse! I wonder if she buys her own flowers every few days.

Well, it seems to me that when the defendant entered his plea, his attorney indicated that he thought his client was sane at time of the offense. Later the defense puts forward evidence including testimony that the defendant had a lifetime of aberrant phycological behavior leading up to the criminal offenses. What?

legally sane is a legal term. you have to weigh the pros and cons of the situation as his lawyer. boyd can't accept the plea if his lawyer claims he wasn't legally sane. so, his other option would be to take him to trial to plead insane where he faced potentially 99 years. now, he'll be out in four or five years.

How realistically does his sister truly believe she has the tools to influence and enable her brother to get his life together when she have the responsibility for her young children? She, being well meaning is voluntarily putting herself in a position to not only place a greater burden on her life but that of her children both emotionally and mentally. Should he come off these meds on his own, there’s a chance he can relapse and could seriously harm hisself and others around him. She truly needs to rethink this decision.

The drug dealers are either very ignorant or have ridiculous nerve to ask for restitution for the drugs they said were stolen. That's the most ridiculous, ignorant thing I've ever heard of. I'm glad judge Boyd refused to give them a single dollar for their restitution requests. If I ever hear of any judge in America giving drug dealers restitution for their stolen drugs, I will definitely ask that the judge be removed from the bench. The restitution approved for stolen illegal drugs is insane. Drug dealers that are selling illegal drugs that are ruining people's lives and possibly causing the death of addicts because so many of the addicts are unknowingly taking fentanyl that is laced into their meth, heroine, cocaine and MJ and if those drug dealers aren't charged for selling drugs that they've admitted to by openly requesting restitution for those drugs, something is wrong with the DA and our judicial system!
