I am 67 and I can tell you all they do not make .music like this they put everything together so perfect RIP babes you were freaking awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of a rare breed of musicians that played for the sheer love of the music and for his fans. Never sold out to trends or fads, this man lived and breathed guitar. I was blessed to see him live in 1976 and 1983..life-defining moments..Sometimes music can be the most powerful all-consuming thing in the world..This video of Rory clearly demonstrates this..Thank you Rory Gallagher R.I.P.
I also seen him live in Michigan @ Royal Oak music theatre a couple times! In my opinion he is the best! When they asked Hendrix who was the best guitar player He Said go ask Rory Gallagher! I would have to agree
I love it, Rory was one of the best blues rock men ever, so underated. He plays with his heart and soul, and it shows in the response from the crowd. I wish he was still with us.
Bearing in mind at one point the stones wanted Rory. This was during one of the periods when Mick and Keith weren't talking to each other. Instead of wasting time waiting for Mick and Keith to make a decision, Rory decided to keep his own plan for touring Japan. He was far to good to be playing second fiddle to Mick and Keith
@@paulcox3950 Agreed.Rory would have been temprementally unsuited to be in the stones..Way too intense and serious..Jeff Beck came to an audition, but only Watts was present as the others forgot about the appointment,so he left.
WOW what a solo my lord 5.50 never heard those notes before or anywhere else that s why there s only one and this is Mr RORY GALLAGHER Ladies and gentlemen. WOW WOW WOW and WOW
You are so, so right. At 5.50, magic is summoned. I have played and replayed this short burst of magic so many times, along with the whole video, and it never ceases to enthrall. Lucky enough to have seen Rory live back in the days of Taste, and thereafter. I am a lifelong admirer and fan of this very special man.
Rory was great and as far as the Jimmie hendrix remark 1st of all Hooah to my fellow 1st airborne brother jimmie who said that the best guitar player he had ever heard was his one time roadie the one and only billy gibbons of z z top......Gotta Love them dirty geeetar players! I know because I am one (45 years + good lord willin).... Rest well Rory.
2018 - this man, this soul is universal -- existing somewhere out there pure energy, light and love: I'm 69 years old and live in Cambridge in the usa, he's with us when we listen and watch him..I feel like I know him and I believe I do and you also, some folks come here and leave a bit of the universe connection that we forget: we're all connected. ~ hugs ~
Und ich bin 73 und hatte ihn nie auf meinem Radar. Ist sehr gut hörbar....till the end of the day..... P.S....ich bin auch großer Klassik - Fan mit modern classic.
Just imagine the show Late Night with Jools Holland would be like if Rory was around, he would be a regular guest such was his brilliance. A great example of what real musicianship and fan connection is all about. Rick and Roll at its best. My 10 year old son hear one or two tunes by Rory and is now Addicted to his music. That is some legacy in 2020. RIP Rory.
I saw this CAT many times in the 70s and 80s. Pure as pure can be. If Rory is in the band then 1 guitar is all That's needed. Like Alvin Lee and Pete Townsend. Rory could tear of rhythm and lead simultaneously.
Je lai vu 2 fois à Lille entre 1979 et 1981 et je n'ai jamais revu un showman comme lui. A chaque fois j'ai eu les poils qui dressaient et le coup de pied au cul. Personne ne l'a jamais égalé en concert.
Rory a real cool gentleman .Had a chance to say hello as he was heading out on stage for a one man show .I said hello to him he had time to acknowledge me like we were walking down the street yarning as you do .I stood about 20-feet away from him for the whole 2 hrs .What an inspiration for the 20 yr old that I was .Never stopped playing since .
I can't believe the ONLY time I had a chance to see him, he was opening for Rush in Worcester, Massachusetts sometime in the early 80s and we were late getting to the Centrum that night. Just as we took our seats he was playing the final notes of his slot and off they went. DAMN - so close yet so far.
Mmm.. that would be Lennon singing Rock and Roll Music.. no one ever nailed Berry like they did in that number. Only Johnny Winter later.. This here is just pathetic, maybe you never heard the original - Nadine by Chuck 🤔
Rory Gallagher was the only professional guitarist I ever saw that wiped off his strings when he finished playing. "I may be one of the best ever but strings cost money!!"😄😄👍👍👍
Totally agree: Rory and the band took this one wayyyy past 11! 2 sax, understated bass and keyboards...perfect. Love the long-haired muppets way back in the crowd dancing their butts off! Sign of a great performance! If you watch the whole performance, he pulls this out of nowhere. Changes the whole vibe.
The best version ever but it has to be the one where he played in Germany in 1986. You just dont want it to end and he had every single person in the crowd rocking! Sheer brilliance xx
One month ago on August 2nd, YT recommended me a Rory video, it was Shadow Play , I have not looked back since, what a sweetheart, with so much talented and beauty ,RIP honey you are so loved by me and all your fans
Oh my god. This is literally the second song I've seen by this guy (Off The Handle was the first). I'm musically illiterate, but holy Christ, I can recognise raw talent when I see it. Is this what Heaven feels like? I don't know what to do with myself here.
What an incredible performer, Rory obviously gave it all on stage, he gave the fans 110% I'm too young to have ever had the pleasure of seeing Rory live, I was definitely born on the wrong side of time
Lucky enough to have seen Rory three times here in NYC. He knocked you out with the first song and never let you recover! A musician without equal and a true showman.
You never left a Rory Gallagher gig feeling bad.The guy was the ultimate guitarist/entertainer. Awesome guitarist of the highest calibre. Genius, Maestro, Virtuoso, all words deserving of the man.The Legend of Rory's guitar work will live forever ☘
This is the first time I've ever heard this version of the song. Great! He had a certain stage presence, and I just wish I had learned of him sooner. Looked like he was having a good time, and that's important.
The Master Rory and his band playing at full blast, Rory loved old Chuck Berry and took a few dances steps from him, Can you imagine Both Rory & Chuck rocking out on stage together then getting into their dance craze
