Rossum Electro Music Assimil8or - Zone Demo - Making some UKG on the Eurorack

I love using the Rossum Electro Music Assimil8or in my performance rig to get more out of less, and do get some classic SP1200 Aliasing sounds in my tunes. In this demo, I go over my workflow using the Zones function to get more mileage out of it, adding a vocal sample in the place of a lead. Pro tips, use Zones, double click the zone button to only listen to one zone regardless of CV, use Pitch and Level Offsets in order to change those parameters while keeping samples in other zones uneffected.
This is also my first attempt at making UKG on the Eurorack system. Go easy on me!
ps. Don't worry about my Push, I finally got a return label so an exchange is in the works! Hopefully more videos on that to come.

@@alx-106 I got a push 3 stand alone too. No bricking but the CV from expression isn't working right and drift crashes every time I use it. The clock / start stop works fine like you demonstrated but I can't get the CV gate to work right/ it is putting out two gates. They have some major bugs to fix. It'll end up okay soon I am sure.

@@alx-106 It is basically a linux computer, so they probably have a way to flash the drive in these cases. It makes sense they'd automate the process with large volumes. I don't know if they'd release that kind of software to you though. Or they could just send you a new drive with a working OS and you just swap it out, send back the old one.

Alex how's your screen on the Assimil8or? I can barely read mine and I have been good to it. Keep the screen saver on and run at a reasonable brightness. Getting a hold of their support is IMPOSSIBLE. I had a Morpheus too which I love and the screen looks bright and viewable. I just sold it on reverb because if these panels have an issue, I don't want two devices I can't read. None of my other OLEDs have this problem. Not selling the Assimil8or though, it's so good.

My screen is great, I have two of them haha. I put my elbow through one once and had to get it replaced, but yeah I haven’t had issues. I don’t use the screensaver though I suppose I probably should considering how much I use the things. I leave brightness at a lower level and seem to do just fine.

I have both and the screens are same (clarity/brightness/etc.) - so you deffo have an issue with yours - you should reach out to Rossum

Where can i find those right angle patch cables?

They are Luigi’s Modular cables. These ones are cool because they sell two heights of right angle so one cable can go over the other. They also have these new cables called mini par, they are right angles that have super small connectors. I need to get more of those! You can get them at a place online called Starving Student Music Supply as well as on Amazon I believe.
