I had a debilitating side effect of edema in my legs, ankles and feet. Also bad muscle pain. I researched this and found out that the people taking statins also suffered the same side effects as I did. They stated that after stopping their statins that most or all of their edema disappeared in 3-5 days. Mine were all gone in 6 days. That was 2+ months ago. No symptoms since stopping the statin (Rosuvastatin) that I was on. I will not take them ever again.

I started a low dose, and immediately had various problems, partilarly with blood sugars.

I exercise regularly and noted more muscle fatigue while on rosuvastatin. Other effect was severe eczema noted especially on legs from knees down. This also manifested as dryness in other areas of body where I would wake up scratching lateral thorax and lower back causing chronic inflammatory changes that included hyperpigmentation. This itching resolved after stopping and tried restarting every other day but still recurred. I will not take it again.

@@quhaytotv5864 I have had no adverse effects from stopping the medication. My lipid levels are completely normal as well. When I was put on it the cardiologist said everyone should be one it for insurance against heart attack and stroke. Statins are the most prescribed medications in the world and is a cash cow for drug companies.

If you reduce from 20mg to 10 mg after 1 wk to 5 mg n then zero, no side effects. I have wean off lipitor, simvastatinb and rosuvastatin this way. i hv bad side effects, vomitting x2 a week. cut off all medications until this one. before i ask my GP and he says " cannot be". Donot trust any GP. they only study dishing out drugs to relief or cure problems but nvr listens to side effects problems. because they choose not to know. Hence now i exercise regularly n eat sensibly . No need sny drugs. for 10 yrs now but have high cholesterols but it is not the problem. inflammation is the killer. try to eat foods that donot cause inflammation like milk and sugars etc. fact check your doctors words because they also need money to survive...supreme court judges who are schooled in justice n law all their life can be corrupted because of money, why not a doctor? fact chk them because money is the root of all evils

My doctor changed me from 10mg Simvastatin to 20 mg Rosuvastatin. 3 months later she changed me to 40mg Crestor. Then my lab test showed fatty liver and I am starting to have pain under my left ribcage again. I love learning. Thank you!

@mregister3945
@mregister3945 2 месяца назад
@@DK-pr9nyYour brain requires carbs to function properly; your body's preferred source of energy is carbs. Please define what you mean by "low carb". Fruits and veggies contain carbs; they also contain much needed vitamins and fiber.
@DK-pr9ny
@DK-pr9ny 2 месяца назад
@@mregister3945 The liver produces all the glucose the brain needs. The brain actually prefers ketones which are created when you go low carb (>50 grams). Fruit is high in sugar and fructose, so I would limit it.

@@HealthRX ,, I am on 10 mg Crestor currently for high LDL (5) . Importantly, my HDL is also high (1.76) . I started just a month or so ago . I am 53 with normal blood glucose levels and blood pressure also normal. I've had a couple close relatives with kidney issues . Any suggestions ? Do i need to take Crestor with additional water ? I love fruits, especially oranges.

Thank you for sharing this video of information about this medication. I am on a blood thinner medication, but it’s not Coumadin aka Warfarin. It’s a5 mg. tablet of Eloquise. Is it okay to take with the Rosuvastatin 5mg. tablets. Once a day are the directions for both medications. I am supposed to start the Rosuvastatin on Friday. Does the Eloquise 5 mg. tablet going to clash with the Rosuvastatin 5mg. tablet?

Interesting. Hopefully the brand name is not costing you an arm and a leg. If you are in the US and not on Medicare, and the the brand is at least partly covered by your insurance, you can further lower your copay for the brand by utilizing the coupon here - www.crestor.com/cost-savings-coupon.html All the best.
