Rotorway Helicopter Model 162F Demo Flight: wanna buy this? 

I was going to say this is probably the best in flight video of an exec 162, but.....instead, I'll say this is the BEST video I've ever seen on RU-vid. I challenge anyone to find a better one. Great camera shots, angles, smoothness, video quality and insanely good piloting skills! Holy hell it was like being in the passenger seat with you guys. I hope you're making more vids like this!

The people crying over a few loose crop duster turns are hilarious. Dude’s a good stick. What’s the point of flying helicopters if you’re not coming home with pine needles in the skids?

I love low level nap of the earth flying. But wires are hard to see first check out your area for wires. I was lowleveling in a OH58 (Jet Ranger) 1971 Germany caught something out corner of my eye and almost had flown into a huge conveyor bring coal from between two mountains. After clean up went back to flying. Of course the Army did not want you to low lev el but nice thing then was Oh58 only needed one crewman. This also let the pilots train the crew chiefs to fly some and they loved it. Of course it paid off to be ops officer and maintaince check pilot.

I've built one of these, and realized along the way that I wouldn't trust my life in it, so I sold it once it was built and signed off. Only someone that flies like the pilot in this video would be willing to take the risk of flying in an experimental helicopter...

Reminds me of the video I saw at flight school where the guy says watch this to the junior officer sitting front seat. While being stationed at this particular place years before, he would fly between two trees. Years later the trees do what they do - grow, and he has a rotor strike. All while "hotdogging" to impress somebody who was very impressionable. In the end, the pilot "gets retired" and the young officer continues on knowing that guy was being dumb. Famous last words, "watch this".

Awesome I've wanted one of these since I first saw one. What is the range on one of these? The specs say 180 but can you actually go that far?

Dead zone, I agree. One good burb out of the engine and oops can't auto, make note of the n number, and watch the ntsb or Kathryns Report for the bad news. No offense just saying...

I have a rotorway and i have to say this guy is flying in the dead zone here!!! extremely unsafe flying!!

"Now watch this! / you wanna see something cool? / now hold on!" are famous last words. He's flying an aircraft with a relatively-unreliable recip engine, and for most of this flight, an engine failure could easily be fatal. He's playing too close the ground and trees. Though its 'egg' shape helps, the airframe can't absorb punishment outside its height : velocity range. Take his GoPro away from him.
