Hey Mike. The fact that you're confident enough to fly over that kind of terrain, land where you did, shut it down, restart, and fly back is great! I have a JetExec and it would be nice if I had the courage to do the same. I have watched many, many, many JetExec videos and I think you're the winner in my opinion. The photo you took of the ship on the rock is one of the best I've seen. Blow that photo up and put it on a wall as a work of art. You should post the video to ROG JetExec section.
Thanks Corde, I'm not going to lie, once I shut down and climbed up to take that picture I thought to myself, this would be a bad time to have a starting issue!
Cool video!! I just came to to see who would comment on how bad the music was...it did not disappoint, hahaha. I've certainly heard worse! Thanks for posting 👌😎
The hate for the sound track is pretty epic, hahaha… I decided to leave it out on my other posting where I landed on the island helipad. Thanks for stopping by!
I fell in love with the turbine RW when it flew in during a fly in. totally different beast. Beautiful footage ! Nice photos !! I would love to print up a few large format for the hanger.
Nice scenery but looking at your PFD, why is your engine gauge jumping the way it is??? That would be a major snag on my list to be fixed before the next flight, IMO...
Good catch.. yes, I had an issue with the magnet pickups and the MGL unit. I have a secondary steam gauge that was my primary for rpm… it was fixed shortly after this flight
One more question Mike, How tall are you? How much room is left between the headset band and the cabin roof? I am 6' and considering buying a Turbo Talon and wondering if I will fit without lowering the seat pan, if that is even possible??
I’m 5-10, there are cushions inserts that go under your butt that can adjust your height. I had a couple in..At 6’ you will be fine…. Go to a flyin and people will be happy to let you climb in and most will take you for a ride.
Gee, just what I wanted - some annoying background music. That's why we watch helicopter videos - not for the wonderful sound of the rotor and the engine, but for the music. Thank you so much.
@@mikemclark Haha. Thanks so much! You have comments turned off on that new video, why is that? Is that the San Juan Islands? I noticed the solar array up there as well. What an amazing location! Great spot to live after the coming apocalypse!
@@mikemclark Ahh it must get quite annoying. I find force trim helps so much when flying precisely, especially test conditions and when you're having to fiddle with the radio. But seriously nice bird! I'd love to own a jetexec like that.
The conversions were sold as kits, I believe around 110 kits were made and sold, of which I got one of them, but the guy that sold them is no making them anymore.
I don't know much about the piston version but I believe the range is nearly the same, I get about 2h20min on a full tank but this would depend on a few variables. As for performance, this is also hard to say because I don't know much about the piston in real-world situations. I also haven't tested the limits of the turbine but with just me on board I can confirm I have a tremendous amount of available power.
I know, it was the first time using the headset mics that go into the goPro, you don't get any outside noise (like the turbine) unless the mic is activated through the headset... .I'm sure there is a way but I haven't played around enough yet.
