Look at your helo's manual for the dead man's curve and other specifications, def worth looking though the spec's on the machine your flying, given this was 2 yeasr ago u prob are all over this stuff, trans lift, change in main rotor toque means pedal inputs etc.

I think I’ve watched every rotorway video on RU-vid and you’re the only pilot I see wearing a helmet, why is that? What make/model is your helmet and do you recommend that heli pilots wear them?

I fly actively in the Army National Guard and have always for the most part flown with a helmet. So when I bought a Rotorway I decided to order a helmet to protect my head in the event of a crash. The current helmet I use is the KOR-1 from Lift Aviation. It was custom built with Noise Canceling and Bluetooth connectivity. A little over $1,800 investment. But we’ll worth it to protect your head if you have a crash.

There's one thing I've never understood, about being into the wind, what if the direction the wind is coming from is opposite from where I'm going ? if I'm to take off and I'm set to head north but winds are coming from south to north means that my tail is gonna get blown from when i pick it from the ground to a hover how does one go about that ? cause the hover won't be steady itself yet i need to take off and head to the north yet the wind is blowing from behind, does one need to change direction and go a different direction just cause that's where the wind is coming from ? you teach you always have to be into the wind, what if the direction where the wind is coming from is where your destination is how does one go about that

take off into the wind. get out of ground effect and into a stabilized speed and then turn into the wind and trim if you have that capability. on landing look for a wind sock or an identifier of wind direction and circle your landing zone and choose a path free of obstacles and face the wind. choose a safer path and then point the helicopter into the wind if you can't fly directly into it at first or you can point the nose to the wind and strafe because helicopter. don't take my advice to heart though as i'm not a licensed pilot. just a heli simmer and heli student with minimal hours

Hey Joseph, great video. Liked and subscribed!!! I have a few quick questions. 1. Planning to buy a new Rotorway Talon, now should I train before buying one or train on my new helicopter? 2. What’s the training cost? Please break it down how much is for what… Thank you

Hello Mark thanks for watching. If you are planning on building I’d wait to train until you get close to completing the build. Due to FAA regulations I can not legally train students In my personal Rotorway. I can give demo flights and charge for my time but not use of the aircraft. You can pay an instructor to train you in your personally owned Rotorway. I charge clients $950 per day which covers my expenses to come out to your location and fly as much as you can handle. I’ve been able to get 6 + hours of training in a day with some clients. The rest of the time we are tweaking and checking the machine out and making sure everything is mechanically sound. If you were to train in a certified helicopter. You can expect to pay anywhere from $350 to $450 per hour for training. The minimum hours required for an FAA Private pilot helicopter certificate is 40 hours. The average time actually needed is 50-60 hours. It’s not unheard of to spend nearly $20,000 to get your Private Pilot Certificate these days in a certified helicopter. You can probably cut that in half if you train in your own Rotorway. You can reach out to me at Priologpriolo@gmail.com for more info.

If you have fixed wing PPL then you only need 20 hours dual in the rotor x then get the check ride and the written test This is what the rotor X owner told me when I met him last week..

Awesome lesson from a guy with 550 helicopter hours. I think.. though its very important..i believe auto's on the first lesson....might make a student uncomfortable...😮

if I remember correctly, during my "discovery flight" back in like 2003, we did an auto. It was quite the intro to rotorwing
