That freeze frame of hugging your boy hit me in the feels. Goes to show where your priorities lie. Not only are you a great dad, but you don't mind showing it. That moment could just as easily been edited out and saved for your own personal use but instead was cast into your already great vids. Your family is a shining example for the rest of us to see.

You and your family are truly blessed. It literally brought a tear to my eye watching this video knowing what that truck is going to mean to that little guy when he gets old enough to take it over. 23:10 I'm British - my father never hugged me or told me he loved me, although he did shake my hand once - that's why some of us come across as a bit cold sometimes. This was the 1960s so I think that sort of nonsense is passing nowadays here. I'd be interested to here from Americans my age, 60+, how their fathers were.

Nice to see a feller really clean something for a change!!!!! As a fellerr who was helping around at his uncles body shop before he can remember I am not a big fan of leaving things ugly when I know they can be made beautiful again. I understand a rat rod but all these muscle cars and old trucks .... older than this though like 66 and before deserve better. Cannot get enough of you bringing cars back from the dead though!!!!!!! and a cheap electric buffer is much safer for beginners to use on their rigs usually won't eat the paint

That is an excellent rig. The condition for a 1978 ? Score ! I've owned many SB V8 Fords over the years, the 300 I-6 was the true workhorse of the gas powered fleet. They were used in tractors, farm equipment, generators, dump trucks and more, then some. I love her as a survivor with the clean up. Keep her as she is appearance-wise. Hey Derek, next time you have to clean a vehicle with a lot of organic growth I have an easy way to clean it and the results are phenomenal. Super easy too. Get a pump up sprayer with 30% bleach 70% water and some soap to help it stick and stay wet. Let sit for a minute and rinse thoroughly. Don’t let it dry on there. I have clean alot of dirty vehicles like that. Your working to hard pressure washing and your right you are running a high risk of damaging the paint

I am loving this series! Other than mine was a 400 with a C6 auto, add a saddle blanket seat cover, a set of white wagon wheels wrapped in BFG Radial T/As and you have my first truck in your possession. Bringing back some serious memories. Good stuff, keep it up! Side note: Keep loving on those kids and getting them involved. Maybe let each one pick a build and direction for an upcoming series. They are only kids for a little while and these are things they will remember and cherish forever. My oldest is my camping buddy. We built my old Isuzu Trooper into an overland rig (before it was popular) because she loved backwoods camping. I thank God everyday for the relationship we have. Now that she is in college we have a lot of stories of adventures to look back on and thankfully she still wants to hang out with the old man. I also (because God has a sense of humor) have a four year old daughter. My wife doesn't understand why I am constantly pulling her into my projects and taking her camping and hiking even though she is a girly girl... I see her smiles when we are getting outside of her comfort level and hear her laughter. I may have to take her to get her nails done after going 4 wheeling cause the mud ruined them, but she will tell everyone she talks to about how much fun it was. lol Waiting for the next notification bell. Till then I'll be in the garage tinkering. Cheers!

Took over a week to get it pulled out, but not for the lack of trying. He ended up lifting it straight out with a crane. He changed all the fluids a few times. I love the way you are restoring this truck, Derek. Great job! I would leave the dents and dings in the truck, especially for a daily driver. They tell a story of a truck that lived a life of work and they are a badge of honor. By shining her up, keeping her running and using her every day you are keeping that old truck's soul alive. Thanks for doing this and sharing it!

I have a 79' old rust bucket f 250 4x4 that I picked up for $500 and am fixing using your videos, along with Junkyard Mooks just cuz she literally has the same truck "Booger". Thank you for being you and for making these videos. Always fun and entertaining, would love to have this f100 though. A great looking truck.

Nice results! Another great time with the old Ford. Great start to another year, thanks. Your videos have gotten me through almost two years of bad health, lost business, family crises, and hanging on to a job the whole time that I never should have taken. I'm pretty sure I look forward to your content more than most, but there's a lot of us out here, and we're thankful to you and your family for everything you do. Thanks again!

This old Ford is a true gem, such a great find. The more you work on it, the more I am amazed by it. Original paint, miles, bumper etc it just looks to good to be true. But its got to be I'm looking at it, glad this one found you. Now it will get what it deserves, I don't care what comes next, I am already eager to see it! Thanks for the episode, and see you in a week!

Derek, you probably know.. buy I'm gonna tell ya anyway.. you are one of the best dad's I have ever seen.. I got a few years on ya.. I pretty much have a similar background as you. My boys are grown up now . I cherish the memories of the past. Very similar to what your doing. I was in law enforcement for 30 years. I now work at a tech center as the school resource officer (part time).. in all my years on the job .. the most rewarding feeling is working with kids... You are a true leader.. I am very impressed. The problem with this world is there isn't enough dad's like you...

Got a f100 from a junk yard for $400 back in 90s. Used it 5 yrs. Straight 6. Changed trans from a sloppy 3 speed to auto. Bolted right in. Great truck. Also had a 66 Ford.
