The sweet tea yarn is awesome. Molly Klein’s yarn and project bags are lovely! The misfit toys is a bag of goodness! Have fun in Washington, Michelle! Thanks for sharing and all the generous prizes! ❤️
I always enjoy you ladies. I want to say that a 94 year old friend once told me that inside she felt the same as when she was 35 and now that I'm 72 I know what she meant. "Sweet Tea" "Wheeler". My favorite of Nancy's patterns is the wintery woods socks. Lynda
AS USUAL, loved all the socks you showed!! The yarns you used and the yarn you bought are all so fun!! SWEET TEA YARNS has the prettiest minis and I LOVE their sunflower knitting bag! I'm a sucker for MISFIT TOYS and even have some vintage figurines that I call that. I keep them even though they have broken or missing parts. It actually makes them more endearing to me for some reason. I enjoy your videos so much ... I always get a good laugh and go away inspired ... sometimes to knit something, some times to buy something, but always inspired. Thanks!!
Sweet Tea! Molly is precious and I love her yarns. Thanks for reminding me I need one of her bags too. She is incredibly talented. Michelle, I really hope to run into you at MDS&W! That would definitely be the highlight of my day! Y'all stay warm and kiss all the fur babies. Theyre SO cute! Love seeing your photos of them.
I have purchased a bag from Sweet Tea yarns before and it was perfectly made, great quality. Her BOARDWALK Summertime Tonal Mini Skein Set is so pretty. I also love her Rugrats sock set. I saw the most adorable yarn skein stitch marker in your misfit toys bag. Congratulations on the new babies, so adorable.
Your shaved ice is gorgeous! I love the sleeveless look for this. That would be my choice since it's much warmer down south. Misfit toys is a cute name since many of our notions are like toys😃 Sweet tea is a favorite southern drink and the yarn is gorgeous. I bought a sweet tea skein that I love years ago and it's very nice. Thanks for the extra footage...the goats are so cute. The wheeler patterns are cute and look fairly easy to knit. I like the first sock you showed!
Hiya Ladies! The sweet tea yarn is very pretty. Love your misfit toys bag too! The Wheeler sock pattern is interesting. I haven't knit socks--yet, but it is on my bucket list to learn. I'm sure you will have fun at the Fiber Fest when you visit your daughter. Pack an extra expandable suitcase to bring back all your fun purchases!!
Lovely knits as always. Especially those blankets. Great idea to share them with a family. I love those Freddy Beach socks by Nancy Wheeler. Thanks for Sharing!!!
First of all. You are going to love being a tourist in Washington DC. Touring the monuments at night are even more breath taking. I wished that I still lived in the area because I would have loved meeting you at Maryland Sheep and Wool - so many memories there. My pilgrimage breakfast at MSWF were the ribbon fries with sour creme, scallions and lightly salted. After you enter through the ticket gates, walk about a block and turn left. Its located near the musical stage and the sheep shearing demonstration. One year my yarny friends from the eastern region rented an AirBnB and I never laughed so hard and slept so little. Enjoy MSWF. The Sweet Tea yarn is lovely and loving her large planet project bag. Also the misfit toys are awesome.
I so wish that I could be there because I lived in DC itself for about 5 years and Northern Virginia (right outside of DC) about 20 years. Yes the weather is unpredictable so please bring good walking shoes and a pair of shoes that you don't mind trashing if it rains during MSWF because even with straw on the soaked ground you might as well be making bricks. Oh and they should have FEDEX and UPS service if you just want to ship your yarny bounty straight to your home. I'm so excited for you and can hardly wait for you to get back and podcast your adventures.
I love misfit toys! I still have some of mine from my you get years. The sweet tea yarn would look great knit up into her autumn woods hat and cowl patterns. Have fun on your vacation Michelle, leslie I'm so glad you didn't have a bad covid experience. As always a great video !😊
Mollys Sweet Tea advent looks amazing. There are also some gorgeous mini sets she has 😍 Leslie you’ll find your mojo … we all get into a bit of a slump don’t we? It’s just making - a relaxing creative feed your soul hobby. Mizz M - your time on this side of the world will be amazing. In addition to time with your daughter, the places you will visit and see will forever be a memory. The memorials and museums will leave a lasting impression and move you maybe more than one expects. Making memories - spice of life. So happy for you.
Hi Michelle and Leslie! Nice to see you back. I was searching daily for this next one. I'll definitely mark my calendar for the 16th and 23rd so I don't miss the next podcast. Leslie I think Missy plays with your yarn because it is your toy. It smells like you. She sees you 'play' with it and wants to join in. At first it was an attraction thing and now she really like the entertainment it provides. Sweet Tea yarn has amazing colors. The Bright Rainbow mini skein collections go well together. Nancy Wheeler has beautiful sock patterns. I fancy the 'sliptastic socks' pattern. It's my present wheelhouse for sock making. Michelle, great bag of misfit toys. Who doesn't love random knitting stuff?
Maryland Sheep and Wool is awesome. You’ll love it as long as the weather is good! I’m about 2 hours away and would love to go this year but I am needed at home to care for my husband… and I don’t need yarn anyway. Enjoy 😎
Molly’s sweet tea yarn reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer fabric and the epitome of spring. Yummmm. I’m trying to work through sock yarn and love Nancy Wheeler sock patterns. Your Freddy Beach socks really show off the pattern. I also like the mountain snow pattern. Leslie your shawl is delicious. It looks so complicated but you chose the nicest yarn for it.
You podcast is so relaxing and entertaining. Michele your blue and beige crochet blanket is beautiful! Of course my favorite colors right now are blue & beige or brownish. Have a memorable trip to see your daughter! Leslie your knit blanket will make a nice lap blanket when your on the deck in the evening. The bag of misfit toys would have a nice home here.
Michelle your hair is so beautiful the way it is. I used to have very curly hair when I was young and I hated it. Now that I’m older, my hair is straight and I wish I had my curls back. I know, we are never satisfied lol. The sweet Tea yarn is gorgeous, and the misfit toys look like do much fun! Thank again girls!
I absolutely love your podcast! How am I suppose to use wheeler, sweet tea, and misfit toys in a sentence? What a trip Michelle you have planned. That should be fun. And your sweater is completed. I'm on the back and I have things going like putting legs on a bunny. New grand baby needs it. Love the puppy story and yes it has happened in our house. Keep knitting!
I like all the sock patterns by Nancy Wheeler, but especially the By the Shore socks. Love the feather and fan panel down the front! I will have to check out her podcast. I haven’t seen it. Those Sweet Tea minis are so pretty. They would make a lovely cowl or shawlette. Enjoyed the podcast!
Oh my gosh! The Molly Klein Sweet Tea Yarns are to dye for 😊. I’m in love with the rugrats set and love that it’s DK. Goodbye paycheck! I’m considering the advent! Help!!! Tell me I don’t need more yarn!
I went to school with a guy whose name was actually Ferris Wheeler! Michelle, I went to Maryland Sheep and Wool as well as Rhinebeck for many years. Maryland is just as fun and nowhere near as crowded. It will be lots of fun. There are lots of non-yarn related things to do. Sheep trials, lama races. Lots to keep "the boy" interested while you smell the yarn.
Another fun episode! Thank you! I love the “Smoke Gets in your Eyes” pattern by Nancy Wheeler and I could certainly use some of those misfit toys while knitting them 🙂. Molly Klein Designs and Sweet Tea Yarns has a mini skein set called Bright Rainbow Speckled that would fit very nicely into my collection 😉
Good to see you here and to know you're both OK. People at work here are out again lately, too. I put my knitting aside the past couple of weeks as well--don't know why. Love the Shaved Ice top, Michelle; I think you chose a beautiful combination--very designer-like. Leslie, always love your soft pastels in your knits. One day, I hope to make it to the Korean War Memorial. My Dad was an electricians' mate in the Navy. A friend said the Memorial is especially emotional because of the height of the service people featured in the piece--taller than real life. Among some of my Dad's papers after he died, I found a questionnaire he had filled out for a class he took before retiring from the phone company that asked what was something he did in his life that he felt was important. He wrote that when in the Navy, instead of taking leave when they pulled into port, he stayed behind to help overhaul a ship's engine so that others could enjoy their time onshore uninterrupted. My Dad never talked about his time in the Navy and, I never thought to ask him; so, this was comforting to find. It was just like my Dad. Have a great trip visitors your daughter. Thank you for podcasting. ❤
So glad you guys are back. Sitting here watching and drinking my Sweet Tea. Those Nancy Wheeler socks are so fun looking. Loved the bag of misfit toys. All your projects are so inspiring!
Sweet Tea is huge in Texas so I'd love to have that yarn to make something while sipping my sweet tea! Love you both - glad to see you back with your beautiful knitting!.
Michelle, you’re going to love your trip. I visited all that you’re going to except the Holocaust museum. I was revisiting some old photos not to long ago of the places. The tomb of the unknown soldiers was emotional to me. Leslie, I just finished the What tomorrow brings shawl after see yours on your last podcast. It’s a Birthday gift for my sister. I have a project bag from Sweet Tea, and one skein of her beautiful yarn. Wow, lots of goodies in the Misfit toys bag. Let’s see some videos of both y’all’s pups. ❤️Maureen
Michelle, I love your hair as is, but it's always nice to try something new, and I can't wait to see your new 'do'! I love Nancy Wheeler 's patterns. I would love to knit her Ravishing Socks. I love a fairly easy pattern to keep my interest. Sweet Tea Designs, Molly makes some beautiful yarn and bags. But have you seen her Patchwork Pixel Heart Pillow pattern? It's made with granny squares, and I love it!
Michelle I think your shaved ice top is really pretty and the colors are nice and spring -like 🌷 I also think that SWEET TEA mini set is beautiful. Thanks for another fun episode! - Tricia
Leslie, I just finished my Anthology Throw on a 60” cable. The last 5 rows seemed to take forever. Cast off went pretty quick. Don’t give up, you are almost done. I just cleaned my yarn room and have lots of room for sweet tea minis and misfit toys. The stitch markers are so cute!
I love Nancy wheeler n watch all the knit sip happy episodes. Last time I bought molly Klein designs, it was an Easter thing last year n I’m not sure it was sweet tea then. And I love your misfit toys!
Thanks for introducing me to Sweet Tea - the Hope for Sheila is beautiful. Molly Klein Designs’ Rugrats set is so cute. Nancy Wheeler has some great sock patterns. Misfit toys sounds like your getting ready for Christmas. Lol
Good to see you both again and all the mischief you've been doing 😅😊. Always enjoy sweet tea, misfit toys and Nancy Wheeler and her sock patterns - any of them.
Good to see you both again. Sorry you had covid, Leslie. I'm glad it was mild. It can be awful. Sweet tea isn't my favorite as a beverage, but the yarn is amazing. As all my kids are adults, the toys live in the attic, like misfit toys waiting for new kids to come play. I never miss Nancy Wheeler's channel Knit Sip Happy. Her socks Freddy Beach are fab!
For the Helen Stuart project you can use two 40” cable needles; half the stitches on each needle. Treat it like you’re working with extra long double pointed needles.
Michelle - Your sweater is so pretty but I know how you feel about the colors. I made a Westknits shawl and liked the yarn skeined up next to each other but I didn't like the finished project with all the colors together. I liked the pattern and would knit it again but with different colors. Years ago we did the moonlight memorial tour and it was wonderful! We really liked the Korean War memorial. We went to the Holocaust museum and it was good but very depressing. I'm glad I went but won't go back to it.
Glad to see your latest podcast! Love the Nancy wheeler sock patterns, Sweet Tea yarn project bags and your misfit toys. Always glad when ya'll pop up on Sunday evenings!
The nancy wheeler pattern smoke gets in my eyes pattern looks like a fun texture. My 1 year old pup likes to steal my yarn too also the tv remote she doesn't chew either she just wants to take whatever I am paying more attention to instead of her. That sweet tea yarn is a beautiful collection of colors.
Nancy Wheeler ‘s Podcast is a new one for me to watch…I’ve been enjoying watching her. Michelle your socks are always fun to see….I knit the Heel Toe DoSiDo in the Felici Rustic Cabin for my grandson 🎄2022 Leslie listening to your puppy stories is so fun! I can’t even imagine having a pet after my yarn…lol
Loving your anthology throw Leslie, mine has pride of place on the back of my sofa and it’s surprisingly warm even with the eyelets. Michelle I’m having a similar problem with my iPad, ever since the last software update! So I’m hoping they bring out a bug fix sooner rather than later. The babies are adorable, have a wonderful week, stay safe love and hugs xx
Get a big skein of yarn you don’t like and wrap it into the dog collar so she will be annoyed with it but can’t get rid of it. This is to train her to avoid yarn. You may have to choose the yarn to be scratchy or something. It works!
Molly Klein Pretty Blossom would pair well with a tall glass of sweet tea on the porch knitting! Have a great time in MD, make sure you enjoy Maryland Crabs with extra Old Bay!!! I’m thinking about going to MDSW, but still on the fence
Awesome to see you two back and glad that you are a better Leslie. Michelle I love your vest and I know what you mean about the pink.....maybe if you used the pink around the neck line and the sleeve openings it will tie it together more.....even just a row or two in the middle of the black. Stay well and lots of love from Down Under xox
Hmmm that’s an interesting idea at adding pink into the trim. Probably won’t do it since I’m done with it but that would’ve been a fun finishing look!!
I checked out Sweet Tea Designs and was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t know she has knitting patterns for sale, I loved the Moon and Stars project bag, and I thought her shades of blue and green yarn were awesome. Thanks for mentioning Molly in your podcast!
If I were stuck on the island of misfit toys, I would bring a Molly Klein bag, the crystal/rainbow one! Lots of sock yarn and Nancy Wheeler Ravishing socks pattern!
I was so thrilled to see you guys posted a podcast today! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The Sweet Tea mini set is gorgeous Leslie! Michelle your bag of misfit toys look fun!!! I envy your snow, we’re expecting another round of major tornado weather on Tuesday. 🙀 Thank you for such a fun podcast to look forward to! If we don’t see you before you leave Michelle, have a fabulous time!!! ❤️
Was so happy to see you girls! Michelle, I had already put Nancy Wheeler’s Freddie Beach in favorites or cart after you showed your sock last podcast. And Leslie, I started my striped half and half shawl last week….you made me want to do it especially after you made several and loved Linen Quill so much. I LOVE that yarn too! Y’all are such good enablers…lol. Hugs from Virginia💞
Gracie will not be ignored! 🐰😂 Goodness, I think Sweet Tea 🫖yarns are so pretty and that array of colors would look gorgeous as a fade. I have Nancy Wheeler's Freddie Socks pattern, but I'd like to get her Wintery Woods Socks, too. 🙌🏼💕 😂Misfit Toys💝
Fell in love with the Sweet Tea yarn....here are some of my favs: Rusty Watering Can, Purple Passion, Moon & Planets and Vera Mae. Don't know how I would choose!
The first time I drank sweettea, I had thought it would be iced tea with a spoon of sugar....I gulped a giant drink of it down. Yuck, it was like drinking liquid candy! Sorting the misfit toys and putting them away properly is true punishment job at preschool! We are all so well behaved, we have a large bucket of them! Lol!
