Yes, I absolutely do still watch your podcasts. Thank you for answering my questions about your beautiful Calliope sweater!! I still haven't started the sweater. 😏I purchased gorgeous Charming Ewe yarn, but still need to purchase the mohair yarn AND build up my courage to make my first sweater. Thank you both for being my inspiration to try something out of my norm and to tell myself, "this is for fun". Karen😍
You two are a hoot! Both of you are so different, but you work so well together . I love the easy way you finish each other's sentences. Friendship is so important. Thanks for another great video.
Leslie please do a video showing how you knit because it is very rhythmic and smooth to watch. I would like the knit-a-long but I can see myself going nuts trying to pick colors. Cranberry Pomegranate juice with Coconut Rum, yum. Pick Valentine’s Day as the cast on date.
Yea another great video. Y’all are enjoying my favorite adult beverage that thanks to you two I make quite often. I’ll soon be downloading you videos and taking them with me to the Okefenokee Swamp since there is no cell service there. We sit and knit and drink the orange creamsicle cocktail and watch your videos while camping. We all gather at my RV since I have the largest outdoor tv and we eventually have to put down our knitting. Whether we’re howling at the video and dropping stitches or we’ve had one libation too many. Lol. I just bought the sock pattern you’re knitting and I do like it a lot. Have fun, be well and safe and I can’t wait until the next video comes out. Happy knitting 🧶🏕️
I have a standing Ott light that I've had for over 10 years that I love. It doesn't have different settings but is perfect for crafting. I haven't even had to change the bulb yet.
Yay, Michelle, that you are getting further on the Bubbles! Bummer on the lamp. Hope the adapter arrives soon. I bought a Brightech Proview Magnifying Floorlamp, but from Amazon ...😟 I do love it. It does move the way yours does, but the plug is midway up the lamp. My only complaint is I have to tighten the base every so often. I love it though, because I can take a break from my readers sine it has the built in magnifier. Gives my temples a break! And time flies...I homeschooled my 3 (33, 30, and 29 now). When my oldest turned 27, I called him and asked him if he remembered diagramming sentences at the dining room table when he was 7. He did, then I blew him away saying, "Well, I was 27 then....lol!" He was stunned.
Thanks for still being here. My life has been on hold for a while. Both of my parents ( only child) are under hospice care. I needed to escape for a few minutes and you all were the first podcast I thought of to “take me away”. Thanks!!
Y’all are so entertaining! I like the idea of yarn pics vs purchases. I’m “trying “ to knit from my stash too (no promises)! I’ll be joining in the KAL from stash. I’m glad you pointed out the pattern. I immediately added it to my cart. I also enjoyed seeing your goats/sheep in the background.
Customer service everywhere is so bad. Greedy companies just piss me off. Michelle as you know, RV parts are ridiculously expensive and hard to find. Just a toilet spring to flush was 34$. Sorry about your lamp. I’ll join in the KAL. ❤
Great to see you ladies this afternoon. It is wet, windy and cold here in the UK. Glad to see you have both made progress on your projects and that you you are sticking to your aims. Good luck with your knit along. I will enjoy watching from the wings. 🇬🇧
Thanks for sharing ladies! I am knitting from stash, and trying to get the oldest yarns first and get them knit up. I will buy some at the Knitty McPurly retreat but other than that, I am trying not to buy. I know what you mean about having issues with companies. I ordered an item in December 2 weeks before Christmas, thinking it would be here by Christmas. They didn't even ship until Jan 4th and it has still not arrived. I'm about to open a dispute to get my money back. I like the top you are making for the knit along. Maybe I will have completed my current projects by the time you are ready to start and then I can join in. I have a sweater, a shawl and a scarf I am knitting right now and I want them done and off the needles before I start anything else. I hope you have a great week!
I like vodka drinks and my favorite is a Cosmopolitan. It’s simple with vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, and triple sec and you can use unsweetened cranberry juice to make it less sweet.
You know Leslie, you can get a special light bulb for crafting or painting from Joanns or Hobby Lobby or where ever that will fit into any lamp and give you much better vision on your dark colors. ( Ott Lite, I think)
Fun podcast again and so relatable! Got rid of Costco membership, purged decades of Christmas decorations and bought a circular knitting machine to chew up some of my stash-feels so good! I thought someone might enjoy my Disney decorations I bought for my boys over the years, because guess what? They don’t want them either! Let someone else enjoy them and provide me with more storage space! I have knit the Shaved Ice tee and it is a fun pattern! I used bright colors of Cascade Heritage as I have tons of it in my stash. All the best ladies until we “meet” again!
Love your podcasts, it’s so nice to see the chemistry you have together. You have both cheered me up, I’m a bit down at the moment as I’ve just lost my husband. Love your anthology throw Leslie, I finished mine now and it’s on the back of my sofa and is actually surprisingly warn to put over my legs. Great projects from you both and very pretty yarn Michelle, stay safe love and hugs xx
😮Absolutely enjoy your podcast and look forward to every one, going on to the just over 2hrs was a bonus. I think the huge factor is your long friendship. Never change you are the perfect relationship. You are honest regarding patterns or yarn which does help your viewers. I’m pleased you’ve discovered Wool Warehouse, they are great, a lot of my yarn is from there and I love the bags they send the yarn in. You may have seen Lucy’s blankets they are beautiful I’ve made several of them and she is down to earth with her instructions. Try her blog Attic24 that is also interesting. Take care, looking forward to your next visit, never tire of your podcasts. 😊❤️👍
I just bought a sweaters quantity of Shibui to make the Rock It Tee…..because they are going out of business and you won’t be able to get it before long. And I’m currently working on B(l)ack to Life by Isabelle Kramer in Yarnadelic……not sure I can cast on another sweater, but I have plenty of stash to work from, so we’ll see about the KAL. Seems like everyone is going on a yarn diet for 2023. Great episode!
LOL .. let's start off the video with a shot of the sheep .... um woops, extreme close up of the side of Leslie's face! Super easy sock pattern ... noted, and I love that Game of Thrones colorway. You guys show so many tempting and beautiful things ... those flannel shirt bags are the best! Ugh, I love it all ... and you two are the best. Such good friends and soo funny!!! Great energy.
Great podcast, as usual! Wow, those reps for Verilux need more training! Maybe you should've told them to watch this podcast toward the end, where you'll be talking about the whole situation with the lamp so they get the point strait up! 😱😛 OMG, the yarn from AK Yarn Sock Society is absolutely gorgeous! And the swatch you knit up with the other yarn is VERY nice! I love ALL the yarns you showed there as contenders__I, too, am a sparkle nut! All your WIP's are coming along nicely, and love those Row 1 Mini's. 💖 See you next time__hopefully, you will have received the adapter for your lamp. 🙏😇 Love, Light, and Blessings. 🙏😇✨💫🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳🌎💖🙌😺
I am working on the What Tomorrow Brings shawl with my sparkly Charming Ewe advent. I have the Shaved Ice pattern. My LYS had several people doing this when it first came out.
You two never fail to make me laugh! Been in Arkansas for a year and eight months and I still haven’t bought Arkansas Yarns yarn!!! There is a small LYS that carries their yarn, about 10 miles from us but they are closed every time we go by. One of these days! Thank you. 🥰
I have two that were homeschooled that are 18 and 19 now. It's interesting to hear you both talk about your own children. I can say that neither one of mine have ever been super pushy either about getting things. They've always been super respectful. It makes it even more fun to get them things they want.
knit along sounds fun ,i'm in. not saying i'll finish fast but i'll start. we can all motivate each other to get it done. love watching your back ground never know what you will see. chickens ,goats, sheep, husbands. lol
Michelle - my favorite cocktail is good tequila, tangerine Lacroix, and lime juice. No sugar and the good tequila is so smooth! Leslie can you buy those fabric cubes for your IKEA shelves? You could buy a few coordinating colors or patterns
Happy new year ladies! I'm on a self imposed yarn ban too and so far it's going well! I'm going to check in with myself around my birthday in June and if it's all good I'm going to try for another 6 months and see if I can go a full year without buying any yarn at all!
I love the OTT light. Has many settings and the bulb does black light settings and also has alarm clock. Looking forward to your KAL. We can do a zooming knit. Lol
💕 You just made me think of a cape I made maybe 5 years ago and I ended up calling it my “Bipolar cape!” As in this bicolor blanket in this video you can see where our moods might have been when choosing our colors. It’s funny when you think about it. I still have my bipolar cape. Thanks for keeping me company. We have goats, too, here in flooded Wilton, ca. 🤗🙋🏼♀️
Michelle, I bought the tabletop version of your Verilux lamp and I love it! Not happy the company is making you jump through hoops to get your adapter though. Not a great way to get more customers to trust your product at all😡I hope they send it🙏🏻
I’m glad you’re liking your lamp! I do really love the lamp. These rules that corporations come up with sometimes are just so stupid. We could all fill multiple books with examples- I’m sure!
I love the bags your friend made! I keep telling myself I need to cancel subscriptions and then I get a package I love and don’t. It’s getting crazy (yarn wise) in my house and I need to stop. I also want/need to knit with my own hand dyed yarns so I have samples to share. Finding the right balance for myself is just hard.
My husband is the Bloody Mary KING lol Regular Clamato Pickle juice (or pickle vodka) Vodka Celery salt You can add a scant dash of horseradish And whatever fixings you’d like…pickles, pickled asparagus etc Hot sauce
Love your channel. I have a question that I need to ask, can you tell me what those large bells are in the background. They look gorgeous and would love to know what they are.
If you don’t look at yarn for sale you won’t be tempted to buy. Also, how about storing your yarn in a cabinet with doors? Finally, if the adapter on the lamp doesn’t come you should tell what company you bought it from to warn others, not as a revenge thing. When you have a bad experience you should warn others.😊
@@KnottyKnitWits I guess I am confused. Did you buy it directly on the Verilux website? If so, I would call corporate headquarters and explain what happy. I have done that before and gotten much better results. Just a suggestion.
@@deborahderden4860 yeah I did ~ buy from them. Interesting idea ~ if I don’t get that adapter in the next few days I’ll look into how to do that. They told me they sent it from California ~ I’m in Oregon. Should have it by now ~ except that our USPS is so short staffed ~ especially for a rural area ~ that there are many days they just don’t show up. That seemed too weird when we first moved here cuz I’ve always lived in the suburbs and mail not showing up just didn’t happen 😂
Leslie, when you re-do your bedroom have you thought about an extra chest of drawers for your yarn. Or perhaps an antique armoire that you could put shelves inside to store yarn. Or maybe a cedar chest. Anyway furniture that looks nice and neat but yet stuffed with yarn 🤗 Take care you two! ~ Lacy
I am not against Amazon. I feel that a lot of small businesses sell on that sight and yes they pay a fee but they reach more customers that way. No different than Etsy, I know some sellers leave that platform after they’ve grown, and that’s their choice, but Etsy is a great site to showcase your business to more traffic. I as a Consumer, prefer the ease and guarantees that the previous Companies offer. If I CAN NOT GET IT LOCALLY , than Amazon and Etsy is my choice. You could of returned your lamp and had a replacement free of charge and hassle.
This is the lamp I use which looks similar to yours, NXONE Led Floor Lamp,Modern Reading Adjustable Standing Height 4 Colors and Stepless Brightness Work Lamp for Living Room Bedroom Reading. I have had it for 1.5 years and love it!
Great podcast. I have an OTT light with a goose neck. I love it. I have a desktop version, but they have a floor model also. I got mine from Joann's at 40% off. Amazon, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby sell them.
Enjoyed the podcast. Waiting to see how the lamp saga plays out. My hubby says there are two companies out there that sell just about every adapter under the sun. I'll ask him what the names are and pass them on just incase the other company decides that they don't care about customer service.
Thanks. I asked my husband and he said he has one but we were waiting to see if we needed to use it and if it would even work. I missed that part of our conversation the first time around I guess 😂😂😂
Ooh, I am so tempted by the kal. I wasn’t going to start new things, but if I use stash, it doesn’t count as a new thing. I have been wanting to make a summer tee. I spent some time this morning looking through my yarn and found 3 that I like together. Might need to buy 1 to go with them. 😏
I'm sure you've said it numerous times but my quick review of show notes I didn't see it....Michelle, what size hook are you using on your puff stitch blanket? Another great episode. Sorry that the lamp company is having a hard time finding good customer service skills! Sheesh!
All right…..I bought the Shaved Ice pattern. I’ve got piles and piles of single skeins (like all of us do, I’m sure 😂) so I’m now on a mission to find 4. I have a few skeins I bought in Barcelona that are those “special” ones, maybe they’ll get used!!!
I would definitely do a KAL. I have the yarn! PS: I keep saying I’m not buying anymore yarn and it helps to repeat it like a mantra! I invent excuses, though. Like: does one skein of self-striping sock yarn count?
Hey ladies! I think I have set a record for myself-I watched your podcast in 2 days! I know- how silly but I just wanted to share. It's been a tough week as I had a death in my family and when the notice of this podcast popped up-it really helped me out. I hope the part for the lamp arrives soon! Take care❤
Fun to watch you lovely ladies again. I always get great ideas. We’ll see if I ever get to them 😂 would definitely consider joining your Shaved Ice KAL.
Love the shirt bags :). I have only one monthly yarn club that I’m committed to for 6 months and other than that I’m not buying anymore yarn for this year. Wearable patterns too. I’ll take it one further…I had so many bad experiences buying clothing on line because most of it was coming from China and the customer service bites and the emails from customer service aren’t even comprehensible that I’m going back to making my own clothes for my American size breasts….Who are they making these clothes for? None of this stuff I’m ordering is fitting and I’m not even big up top…..Bring back the can do American attitude :). 😊
So excited for the sock yarn society club! I HAD to sign up for it because they have the SPARKLE base I adore! The yummy 4ply one! It’s just the best! And also if you get a second can you share the Etsy shop where you found your BIG basket to hide all your wips!!?!? I would love to check that out!
If you don’t get the adapter I’m thinking you can buy an adapter that will work from another company. I’ve done this for other things just like phone adapters
Love your podcast. Several of your hyperlinks don’t have actual pages anymore. You may want to check them before you upload your podcast. Just a suggestion to avoid frustration of your viewers. 😀
well- dang it- seems like the links that I copied from last time didn't work. If there's anything you are looking for, odds are good it's linked [and working] in Row 159 notes.
Ok, what are you two drinking?! I want to make me one. Leslie, what are you doing to lose weight? I want to lose weight, but not necessarily do anything to lose it. But just in case what you’re doing sounds good, I may try. 😆
Great episode as always! You two are always a good way to end my Sunday night. I thought about going on a yarn band but then I had second thoughts.🤔 By the way, Hue Loco has a gorgeous new Collection out, it’s Cozy in Colorado Collection. Happy Knitting 🧶
