Elton should be doing more of this. He has great stage presence when simply acting. His facial features and simple syntax make this act one of the best on Rowan's show.
Watched an interview with the Dalai Lama, by a well loved interviewer, in Australia. Talk about two opposite ends of the spectrum of understanding. The Dalai Lama looked bemused by the end.
+Rockin Atheist Yes, although it seems at time Mr. Atkinson was taxing his patience a bit much. Mr. Atkinson played that whole name bit for too long, I thought.
Hey HamRod..it was rehearsed to the letter. See Morcambe and Wise with John Elton in the sixties. Brits are great at laughing at themselves. (They need to be ;-)
Right off the bat! Elton KNOWS he's in for it! Sir, His royal whatchamacallit, Rowan 'I have a rather disturbing flatulence building at this moment...' Atkinson delivers all the lines an Elton disintegrates into suppressed teary laughter. What a moment! If only they had bought us all drinks...
No... No... I think he should have had an Irish sea shanty song telling of mollusks and crabs and other sundry invertebrates. But only if each line rhymes with 'constipation'.
I was at this event and still have the programme. This is the only sketch I remember and it's still funny (although a little reminiscent of Monty Python's Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson sketch).
Played a bandcontest once and the host did a short interview with the bands afterwards. He was also weirdly focused on the bandnames, which made me think of this sketch.
of course it was planned rowan would never talk to elton john like that lol this is all part of rowans live act and elton was just going along with it lol this is very funny and bless elton for doing it
It was definitely rehearsed otherwise John Elton would have been laughing all along (even with rehearsal it looks like he still had hard time keeping it up at some point)
Maybe because it isn't funny after two decades and more. Still hasn't stopped Rowan turning out the same banal humor and Elton the same sentimental tosh since he sold out to Disney. Works for the BBC I suppose.
What do you mean by Asia? You are aware that there are many different countries and cultures in Asia, some of which list names in the telephone book in exactly the same way.
LG ...and now for something completely different!"
+Etu Primandhika Official I was thinking along similar lines, only it bought to my mind the "Arthur '2-sheds' Jackson" skit :-) Very funny, well done to Rowan, brilliant as ever, and Elton ( or should that be John ? ) for being such a good sport :-)
