You know that's the first piece of gold that The Hot Rod has ever worn here in the WWF yeah he don't deserve it I can say the same thing about your guy Ric Flair Are you kidding?
I was walking in the city centre of my home city of Glasgow last month and a wee group of young bagpipers started playing this, my goosebumps have only just subsided 👍
The best heel in the history of professional wrestling. The only guy who NEVER needed the WWE title to get himself over. His entrance at Wrestlemania 8, the walk, the look on his face, is the exact way I like to imagine he entered heaven. God bless him.
He didn’t need the WWE title, but he did say that it bothered him that Vince kept it from him. When I met Roddy in 2013,I had a replica of the winged eagle belt with me, and I asked him if he would hold it for the picture, and followed it up by saying he should have held the real one. I was so happy when he obliged.
After just listening to all of the themes he had. This is definitely the best one. You can hear the crowd getting excited, the build up, the steady pace, Rowdy grinning and does that look around at the crowd he always did as he paused after exiting the entrance to the walkway to the ring. Yep this is the best theme for him hands down.
@@abigail1971 The first 42 seconds are Lass of Fyvie. 0:43-1:23 are Gallowa’ Hills. 1:24-2:00 are Killiecrankie. Then 2:00 till the end is back to Gallowa’ Hills. To hear the songs isolated with lyrics, I recommend listening to The Corries versions of (Bonnie) Lass of Fyvie. The slower version is beautiful but the faster version is closer in tempo to this one used by Roddy Piper. Gallowa’ Hills by Gaberlunzie. Killiecrankie by The Corries All are currently available on RU-vid.
A true one-of-a-kind, there will never and could never be anyone else like "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. One of the greatest legends in the history of pro wrestling. I can never hear bagpipes and not think of him, his first-rate promos and over-the-top ring persona. May you rest in peace, Hot Rod. You will be truly missed.
One of the funniest guys on the mic. Wish he could have stuck with this theme song in WWE. Royal Rumble 92 against the Mountie for IC belt, Knickerbocker Arena, Albany, New York.
Rest in peace rowdy I was watching WrestleMania 12 back lot brawl with gold dust i miss ur rowdy piper therapeutic sessions getting everything out in the open you were great
Roddy, I wish you eternal peace. You were never surpassed as the greatest heel-turned-face of all time. I shall now listen to Amazing Grace, drink and weep about the loss of one of the greatest wrestlers and personalities of all time.
If Roddy had been in politics, he would have been P.M. of Canada. You are the Cicero of professional sports. Never with vindictiveness. A heartfelt thanks for everything you did and the way you did it.
One of the best talkers, quickest wit & funniest wrestlers I remember growing up. I'll miss guys like these, RIP Hot Rod you were one of the true greats!
This song is actually a medley. At that point it switches from “Bonnie Lass of Fyvie” to “Gallowa' Hills.” Plus the rest of the band comes in at that point.
I grew up watching the great 80s and 90s and never thought I would watched all my great wrestlers pass away as I enjoyed every minute the show they put on for us all... Piper feud with Ric Flair... The Ultimate Warrior feud with The Macho Man Randy Savage.. all those great golden moments that I will see ever again but I remember them all like it was yesterday
There are few musical instruments that can stir the soul like the bagpipes. From a rousing rendition of "Scotland the Brave" to the heartbreak of a lone musician on a chilly, Canadian Remembrance Day morning playing "The Piper's Lament."
More iconic theme song of all time out of the 4? This theme, Real American(Hogan) American Dream(Rhodes)(I like his song),pomp and circumstance(Savage)
I remember this was his theme song back in 1994 at king of the ring when he faced Jerry the king Lawler. One of the most exciting matches I have seen him in.
'Now theres many a bonnie lass in the howe o Auchterlass, Theres manys a bonnie lass in the Garioch, Theres many a bonnie Jean on the streets o Aiberdeen, But the floor o them a is in Fyvie o'
Great and the best Roddy piper theme , I heard it many times watching WWE as Roddy made his entrance towards the ring preparing to take care of business
A month now since he sadly left us too soon, and I still can't bring myself to believe it sometimes. I imagine they changed the entrance music at the gates of heaven to this for greeting "Hot Rod" - few more deserving.R.I.P., Rowdy Roddy. you were the best.
Rip hot thank you for all of the great moments you gave us in the WWE weather it was in the ring at the broadcast table or in pipers pit we miss you but we will never forget you God bless you Hot Rod
Remembering the time Brother Love tried to turn Piper’s Pit into the Brother Love Show at Wrestlemania 5. Piper: “If you are, any part of you, a Scotsman, then under that skirt there.” Brother Love: “Uh, this is a kiiiiiilt.” Piper: “No no no no, son. This here’s a kilt. That’s a dress, baby.” Brother Love, trying to look under Piper’s kilt: “That looks more like a... dress.” Piper: “I’ll bite your face if you do that!”
