I’m a master mechanic that knows to watch your video b4 I do my first oil & filter change on my new Scram411. Wow your tips are a great mess saver I must say. Loved the AL foil trick, the removal a cleaning of oil screen and fake screw on airbox lid! Thanks from Pueblo West Colorado Rocky Mountains!!!
My stealer wanted $600 to perform the first service. I just watched videos and did it myself for $80. They probably use crappy oil too. Now I'll learn how to adjust the valves.
Thanks for the video. I just bought one of these earlier this year and will need to know where all the parts are. But I would never wash a strainer with water. I would use WD40 or the equivalent to that.
Thanks man! Just ready for my first 300m service. I'm a bit of spas and never changed the oil or done any maintenance really on a bike or car, even though I'm old. I bought the Himmy thinking I could do that kind of real blokey stuff myself, so thank you so much for helping me along that journey, you made it very simple and clear!😁
The spec is 1.6 to 1.8l. Also don't pre-oil your filter, you want to purge the air as quick as possible when starting the engine, and a pre-oiled filter will resist that air purge a lot more than a dry filter, so I never pre soak my cartridge filters in oil.
what is name of that ruber u said u can change ocasionaly, when i am searching oil kit on ebay, i always find only oil filter and gasket without that part
You don't need to touch the oil drain bolt as you have to remove the whole cover to get to the strainer. At least that is how I did it, couldn't see any downside.
@bikerdood1100 I know of the drain plug that uses the copper crush washer. Then there are 5 8mm bolts associated with the oil change, but none of those have washers. Are there 3 additional drain plugs?
