The “extra” bracket on the table, not used, is the taillight extension bracket along with the rubber frame vibration pad.

Despite the need to finaggle the rack to fit, once they are on there it feels super solid. Enjoyed watching this video. I also relocated the tail light to the rear metal bracket that also holds the turn signals. (Not mandatory but if you install a givi top box with metal givi plate the supplied bracket does not fit mine and your version tail light). With saddle bags and a top box you might find the tail light is a little obstructed at least in my opinion. Just ordered the brightest aftermarket LED rear tail light and drilled two holes in the rear metal bracket and spliced the wires to the old tail light connector (not the bike wiring) and plugged it in.

Keep'em coming, please! Love the tinkering videos. Noticed when we installed the pannier racks on my Himalayan there was no way to get everything on dead straight so I ended up with a visible gap on the lower bolt on the right side of the bike. Had to add washers to get a tight fit. Looks fine now.

I had the same problem. The lower supports (on both sides for me) did not line up straight, i.e. flat on flat so there is a small gap on each side now even with all bolts tightened.

Great video. I watched a couple times before I did my install. One thing that went wrong was the green right turn signal extetension cable was bad so I just wired it w/o the extension and it was still long enough. It just goes up in the fender a little closer but it works. Thanks for the build series! Very helpful!

I'm 74 and ride one. Always make sure the prop stand is on a hard surface, then I can mount by standing on the left foot peg. Hard to get my leg over otherwise. Love the bike.

Just now, after ordering this kit and the paniers I became aware that the stated max load for each panier is 5 kilograms ( 11lbs). This seems ridiculously light when thinking each is 27 liters and I had to carry 34lbs in my 44 liter backpack on one trip!!!

As long as its all mounted properly you should have no problems with weight. I've done a few thousand kms across corrugated roads in australia, with each panner full (probably around 10-15KG in each one and never had a problem.

Blnking plates and the black bolt kit which I added later are both from Enfield Accessories in the UK HIGHLY Reccomend.

I don't have a torque wrench and go by feel instead (I know it's on my shopping list). Turns out I overtightened one of the rear crossbar bolts so that the fixed nut threads broke. I am not super strong and it wasn't even during the final tightening of all the bolts. Will have to drill it out and use a new nut and bolt now.

which is why I always go by torque specs on each bolt. Lots of time cheaper bolts are use especially in aluminum housings to avoid cracking the housing

Howdy! About to do this myself, so great to see someone else do it first! What do you think about drilling a couple holes in the hidden part of the fender to run the turn signal wires through? Seems a little wonky to have them running outside, then back up under the end of the fender…

Good to see you have the wifes grab rails fitted now, saves the fingernails digging into the sides when you head into a corner faster than she likes. (sorry Mrs Ronin, I'm only joking) Great video and once again, simple to follow. I have the SRC top rack as well to go on the rear carrier frame on mine, just to make strapping the soft bag on a bit easier.

Glad to see yours went on pretty easily. I put a set on both mine and my wife’s Himalayan and both didn’t line up on the left side rack. Had to use a ratchet strap to pull front end in line with hole on bike. Did you purchase them directly from RE? Both of mine were purchased from India on eBay. Wondering if they are selling the rejects.

Got the racks on mine .... can’t figure why they don’t provide a template and grommet to drill a hole in the read mudguard to route the indicator wires hidden ..... keep em coming.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems like they have you routing the wires in between two pieces of plastic with a tight fit between the fender parts. If so, you will have chafing on the wires and then wonder why your turn signals quit working.

Hi, I fitted mine yesterday and had the exact same thought so I drilled a hole myself. That way you don't even need to use the cable extensions, and as an extra bonus you don't really see the cables when looking at the bike from behind.

Where did you find the covers for the holes left by old light locations? Sidenote: Doign the same project, and following your video. Didn't want to resort to heat and risk wrecking the paint. Eneded up snapping the bolt and spending the rest of the night drilling and rethreading.

VERY INFORMATIVE! I JUST ORDERED A PANNIER RACK SET FROM INDIA FOR MY 2021(22 MILES) THAT AFTER MOUNTING WILL KEEP MY SADDLE-BAG FROM TOUCHING THE EXHAUST PIPE- QUARTER INCH HOLE BURN FROM THE WEIGHT OF A 6 PACK!! Sir, as a Himalayan enthusiast i have some doubts regarding TYRES. 1. Have you changed the tyres? If so which brand. 2. What will you do if your tyre got puncture during a ride? 3. Can we change to a tubeless tyre with the spoke rims? 4. Should i change it to tubeless tyre or continue with whatever the company provide. Need your opinion. Thank you.

Great question(s), no mine are still stock although I am researching new tires for more off road ease. as far as tube vs tubeless. MUCH rather have tubed tires for gravel and off road. I always carry spare tubes and well as tire repair kit. Spokes have tiny places for air to escape and unless they have been specifically design to run tubeless tires stick with what the factory recommends (always the best policy) unless you are a fabricator

I use a hot air gun if Im having issues with stuck bolts that are near painted areas. I have never tried a soldering iron so I have zero idea if that would do the trick?????🙄

tough question to ask and desribe. one of the rack frames I have doesnt line up perfect with the port. How might you go about bending that frame. I need to adjust about 1/16 to get the screw to slot. I was laying the rack elevated and suppoerted on its two ends and then using my weight by way of my foot. Its just a sixteenth or so. I thoughtr of a torch but that would merlt the paint.??? Thanks for the consids and your vids.

Any idea what that extra black bracket piece is supposed to be used for?? I got it with my racks and have no idea what to do with it. I have a '22, so maybe it was needed on older bikes or something?

its to extend the tail light beyond the panniers. I think it looks crappy so I didn't use it

@@michaelszetela8685 The plate/bracket sits on top of where the factory light was. It basically pushes the rear taillight further out to make it more visible. I have pics of when I finally figured it out and did the install, but I can't post anything here.

I think they should include this in the package. I don't have the covers and when I was putting the inner mudguard back the steel bracket dropped down. I couldn't be bothered to try to put it back so I just left it out for now.

WHAT !!! Call that a tool kit ? Where is your hammer ? Where is your biggest "Justin Case" hammer ? and, most importantly, Where are the 2 adjustable spanners (1 metric, 1 imperial) ??? I did hear that some of the fitting instructions are "interesting" if the kit came direct from India. Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. Best wishes.
