Hell yes my friend, just bought and alienware r3 15 with 500gb M.2 WD Blue with 32gb of ram with i5 7300hq and a gtx 1060 for 1300dlls,i think the 20 series nvida gpu is going to start from 1500 to 3000dlls or even more

IMO It would be better to get 10 series cards instead, they are pretty good enough for a few years (1060,1070 and up) also we dont have much games that use Ray tracing much.

I already bought the Overpowered 15+ laptop with an i7 8750H, GTX 1060, 16 GBS RAM and 1080p 144hz IPS screen for $800 US. I am going to be keeping my laptop even after the new RTX laptops come out.

@TechDude594 Yeah good choice as well. We still don’t know how the new laptops will perform from a thermal perspective and how they will behave when it comes to power limit throttling and thermal throttling. Plus thin and light laptops always carry a premium. I expect these new laptops to cost a pretty penny or two.

Jarrod, im in a bit of a predicament. (big fan from Australia btw & your videos are top notch) I'm torn between the: Acer predator Triton 500 and the Asus Scar II GL504GS, which you have done a few videos on videos. should i wait for the new one or get the Asus while its cheap on centrecom any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks mate! If you can wait probably worthwhile to see what performance of the new machines is like as we just don't know yet if it will be worth it. That said the scar has decent specs and i can't imagine it becoming obsolete or anything like that any time soon, especially with a 1070, and even more so if your have no interest in gaming with RTX

$35+ for the card alone will increase the price for the mobile counterpart, although they said the performance can surpass 1070ti for the rtx 2060 too we should consider heat management in the laptop with various heatpipe placement I really hype for the triton 500 though, i hope we can see reasonable price for that and another rtx laptop, cheers!

damn i was right to wait until 2019 to buy a new laptop. Last year was really interesting with the new thin and light gaming laptops and this time its getting better. Im really interest in all of them but especially the asus gx701 and the gx531 both are named zephyrus s. looks like asus finally heard us and 8th is still mainstream aswell

I'd like to think they would want to lower prices to clear them if the RTX cards are actually good, but if they're not then maybe we see 10 series being sought after like we did in the desktop GPU side, depends on the price to performance ratio I think which we don't know yet

I am honestly kinda disappointed, as on the website(Gigabyte) it seems as if you cannot get the aero 15 with an i7, 144hz display, and rtx 2080 max Q. I would much rather have the 144hz display than a 4k one, but do want some of that sweet graphics performance. Hopefully thermals are up for it. I hope they beefed up the cooling system, otherwise I would be quite disappointed.

I would love to see the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701, that one in my opinion is the most interesting of them all, 17" screen and still looks quite sleek. Glad that the 17" laptops is getting some design love.

Honestly not too sure given I have never personally tested streaming, with the same specs I'd expect very similar performance though. Zephyrus did have better cooling in my testing though which may put it ahead

Balkpark performance increase is 15% give or take.. But the 2060 is 150$ more expensive than GTX 1060... So it's a ripoff one is paying premium for performance bimp that should be warranted by the generational leap alone. People did not pay 150 extra $ for the 1060 30-40% performance increase over the 960... See The Good Old Gamer video about Nvidia 60 series pricing over thas last decade.

@@DocVirchow yeah, but I'll say that... to me... these cards are more or less "4K cards" performance wise. I mean in everything I've seen with the desktop cards they are really no better... And don't get me started with max-q! Smh I'll stick with the 10 series.... I would like to have MORE than JUST.... 60FPS in my ALL games.

I see that Asus has a new zephyrus s (gx701 which has a 2080 max q). I'm in the market for a gaming laptop of that caliber but I'm wondering how well the new gx701 performs against the gx531 and if it's worth waiting for this new gx701 (I'm not a fan of small iterative performance changes)

I had an alienware 17 1070 etc. After that I p/u the Msi MS65 stealth thin. The performance is well overlooked by how light the Max Q are. I will never buy another laptop without a Max Q now. No reason to have 7 or more extra lbs for a small performance difference.

Has anyone heard any info about the thermal/power profiles of the 20-series mobile (Max-Q + mobility) vs 10 series? Word seemed to be that the TDP and power draw would increase. Can't work out if the introduction of >5 heat pipes and inclusion of 2x DC adapters in newly announced laptops validates this, or whether laptop makers have just improved thermal solutions for the 2nd generation thin and light gaming devices?

I haven't tested the new RTX models yet, but the GS65 in my eyes is a cheaper razer blade for a better price. Blade has better battery and build quality though.

Its ok to wait if you're willing to spend more than 2500.. I'm guessing it wont go below that price point.. if not, go with the current laptops at least gtx 1060 or better

I am excited for RTX Laptops. Not because I want ray tracing but new mobile GPUs mean lower prices for older models :)

Yeah fair enough! I think the thing I'm most interested in is 2080 laptops, not because of RTX or pricing, but because that's similar in performance to a 1080 Ti, which is like a 30% boost over the 1080, the best we used to be able to get in a laptop. Sure it may cost a ton more and be hot, but the top end improving by around 30% excites me.

Just got a Scar 2 with a 1070 about a month ago for around $1600. My guess is you're going to need at least $500 or $600 more to join the RTX club. At least early on.

Looks like te eluktronics I ordered and my friend ROG was out of stock. They cancelled it which I am happy to declare that I will wait for the rtx 2070 aero or a rtx 2060.

I really feel like if you want a laptop that will last long you should wait u till the end of 2019 to decide which of the 2019 models you wanna get. People jumped on the rtx cards as they just came out and 2 weeks later they started dying on ppl. Only after a year of public testing you can see the laptop in it's true colors.

I'm worried about heating. Throttling was already a major issue in the 1060/1070/1080. So slim and RTX.... something smells fishy.

To be honest I don't see too much throttling on graphics itself, it's almost always the CPU that's the issue, that said with shared heat pipes dumping more heat in will not be good.
