I can't get enough of him! You really said it; he has it all and I honestly admire him for getting clean from drugs and alcohol, and I can relate to his struggles because I have an addictive personality too. He's so open and honest, and I love that despite his sexual conquests, he really seems to have admiration and respect for women. I love his philosophies, and he's sooo funny and sexy and charming! Gotta love the accent too! Watching this, I'm sad things didn't work out with him and Katy.
He is simply amazing. Many people bad mouth him, but have they ever heard him actually speak? Because he is so intelligent, and well spoken. More men should be this way, or better yet...more people in general.
There were 6 people there and Russell was (rightly) dominating the conversation. Where would you have had her butt in? She is not usually one to remain silent but here she was respectfully stepping back.

Thing is though, generally, he talks to men that way as well. So it doesn't seem forced or condescending when he does it to women, which I think is key.

On his old radio show he'd bring up "spirituality" now and again, often in the context of the "revolution" he was always on about, but now that he's in the US so much, he has dropped the word revolution, kept the word spiritual, and often supplemented it with the words prayer and (especially) God, which Americans lap up.
Guys, see the way he looks at Barbara when he talks to her. Shit like that drives girls crazy. Lean in, look right into there eyes, speak clear, and show interest.
The View seems a lot like the American version of our UK program called 'Loose Women' where they are much more able to keep up with Russell. I think its just a culture difference, We have different humor too, but Russell is very good at adapting.

I knew nothing of this guy except that he was married to Katie Perry (who I don't know much either)& that his remake of one of my fave movies Authur was a dud. Tonight Ive watched several clips of him on You Tube starting with Chelsea Handler & now I can't take my eyes & ears off of him. He takes up an entire room & I mean that in the best way possible.
I love him. He is very quick-witted and intelligent. He looks like, and reminds me of, a more extraverted version of johnny depp. His politics, humour, vision, and smarts must be why Elisabitch was quiet. You could feel her judging him. Pssst. As if. Glad he ignored her upon arrival to the stage.

Did Whoopie get paid for this show?- because she didn't say a word or participate at all-I enjoy Russell Brand -I find him intelligent, introspective and sincere.I don't watch The View other than selected clips on RU-vid-so I am not familiar with whether it is unusual for one of the hosts to be completely non verbal and non participating throughout an entire segment-Is Whoopies' behaviour meaningful as far as this guest is concerned or not an unusual thing for this show?

i think barbera and elizabeth find russell real funny, charming and unique. but i think elizabeth get's annoyed when he starts talking about 'spiritual' stuff. i know elizabeth wants to say some fucked up shit because russell's past is so fucked up and he's talking about spirituality. but russell just has this energy/charisma about him and she just doesn't say much
I dont know if anyone else noticed. Russell seems to repeat the same story in many of his interviews. Like the bottle thrown on his head, the helen Miren bath story and a few others.

I totally agree. I really don't hate anyone. I think it's childish to say that, but I really hate Elizabeth. Her smug face makes me so irate. She is so self righteous she makes me cringe. I actually want to slap her when she starts going off like a rabid chihuahua. Lol!
