It was under Turkish, Polish or Sarmats. Then Muscovite, then Tataro-Mongolian during their yoke, then Russian, then during the Marxist-Leninist yoke, the Soviet Russian, then Soviet Ukrainian, then Ukrainian, and now Russian again de-facto, Ukrainian de-jure.
