Considering the severe winters there, the roads are in pretty good condition. Reason being I don't believe they salt or gravel them for the ice & snow. That in itself makes a big difference. I've only see plow trucks with no salt or gravel ones following behind. It's the DRIVERS that are bad, not the roads. Russians just do not know HOW to SLOW DOWN and road conditions.

What's up with those weird Star Wars background noises at 1:51? In any case, I grew up in Winnipeg, a city famous for it's crappy roads and huge crater pot holes and I can tell you, it ain't the roads, it's the drivers. By and large you don't see people in Winnipeg turning left from the right lane and turning right from the left lane and so on. It must be a cultural thing, apparently in Russia there is a complete absence of concern for personal safety and the safety of others which explains a lot of what you see in these videos. Bottom line is, you can't blame it on the roads, it's the nut behind the wheel.

The roads look pretty damned good to me. It looks like a lot of people have dashcams, what country doesn't have way too many road accidents? Russia is probably no worse than anywhere, but they do have problems with alcohol, perhaps more than other countries. There are plenty of American crashes, not so many webcams yet. Russia looks to be doing well financially, beautiful country.
