I do accent walls and I find it’s always better for me anyways to start at the top, and leave the cut piece for the bottom plus that gets the highest part out of my way first while I’m fresh. Nothing like climbing a ladder after walking back and forth all day. I love your work btw keep it up.

That's stained pine? I'm going out on a limb and say that they paid hardwood prices for it haha. I didn't really like it when the video started, but I have to admit, it actually looks pretty nice in the end. It helps when a pro installs it :) And your "Thanks... Pinterest" comment just nailed it!

Spencer, I don't wanna see you shorten your trim career, so next time lean your telescoping ladder against the wall at the lower landing and then run your extendable plank on to your ladder at the top of the stairs. Not the best idea, but you'll get full range of motion and access without having to reposition the ladder every few feet.

Getting ready to cover a sheet rocked wall with 3/4" x 4" wide rustic wood off old Wyoming snow fence, Couple questions if I may, 1/ what size brads or nail do you use in your pneumatic nailer to fasten this type of wood. 2/ On a sheet rock wall with 16' inch on center framing how do you prep the wall to allow nailing the boards to the wall. I noticed on the sheetrock wall you were nailing your barn wood to, you actually were shooting nails between your marks for the studs. Do you have any advise for my installation so there is plenty of nailing across the wall. Thank you.

Love your videos keep them coming :) I am doing an accent wall above a stair landing with these measurements. The Landing is not flat across it steps down 10 inches to the left of accent wall at the 30 inch mark. So picture this in your mind. From bottom of left step of lower landing its 166 inches to ceiling and from the bottom of right step of upper landing its 156 inches to ceiling. I am fine with the 2 vertical styles but what do I do for the lower landing? I 'm using 5/8 by 1 and 1/2 trim.

Yes. You can definitely items do that. With this particular material it would have been much more of a struggle to do it that way though. In this case it was better to have gravity working with me and not against me.

Since it is a T&G product it doesn't matter if it lands on a stud because the pieces under and above it lock everything together and keep in plane.

As always your tips and tricks never let us down. Thank you. And yes Pica is marker of the future. I have three of them, one graphite, one white for marking dark hardwoods, and one red that I use with my Dewalt track saw, makes a great contrast up against the black strip of the track,. I haven’t undercut a measurement since I started using red marks. Unlike the Festool track has a clear/white/opaque plastic strip, Dewalt is solid black.

Great looking job. But not to be the “ safety Nazi” but where is the temporary handrail around that man-eating hole. Saw a carpenter walk off of a locker room in a new high school. Before the ambulance got there they were throwing up a hastily built perimeter rail. And no I couldn’t have warned him as I was on far opposite end.

@gulielmi2002
@gulielmi2002 4 года назад
as an engineer, when I design fixtures, parts, and assemblies, I do it all in metric (SI). in fact I find it very difficult to do it on anything but SI. When I do wood working, all SAE; I find it difficult to think in SI for carpentry. it comes down to your measuring tools really. all my wood working tools are in SAE as it can be difficult to find SI measuring tools from box stores. next time my in laws from over I will ask for a SI tape measure bc these fractions can be a pain
