Curious… when you purchased your piece of land, was it zoned residential, commercial or recreational? And if it was residential, did you have to file a variance?
Hey Nikki, thanks for your question. My property is located outside of City limits in a residential zoning area. But in TX a residential zoning area outside of city limits can have up to 15 renters before additional red tape is required. First thing we did was contact our county & tell them our plans & they gave us the breakdown on what we needed to appease their likings which was easements, entrances/exits etc. Every state/city will have certain regulations. I agree, at the last economic downturn 2008-2009 dollar stores and McDonald's saw their sales increase both here in Canada and the US. So, affordable housing like what you said, but also apartment buildings with small apartments and rooming houses, will provide the lodging people need.
