I think Maria's line "You should have seen me when I was your age!" was really meaningful for Qrow's 'old man' complex. I've never seen a moment where he looked so hopeful.

You known what destroy my feels? The very fact that Ruby *REMEMBER* such *LITTLE* details about everyone such as Blake's cheering with the red flag, Weiss giving her a cup of coffee, the Arkos's ball dance, PENNY's robot revelation and everything else was a uncalled callback of feels trip.

I don't remember where I saw this head canon, but I love it. When Jin said "even though you do not seek knowledge, just this once, I will give it freely", she gave Ruby that HD clip of Summer, instead of the slightly fuzzy snapshots, because that's knowledge Ruby needed in that moment without realizing it. We know Ruby was very young when Summer died, so having that clear of an image is not something Ruby would naturally have. Also Indomitable makes my soul happy, and I can't wait for the whole track

totally agree that the mech ending was a little anticlimactic, but based on the sudden frame drop that occurred as Cordovin showed up, i imagine that they encountered some technical obstacles that kept the fight from being quite what the crew wanted. It’s a shame, I bet it would’ve been cool.

You mentioned Salem sending her flying monkeys to Atlas, but I don't think that's where she's sending them. Earlier in the Volume we learned Tyrian and Watts were being sent to Atlas to prepare, to prevent Atlas from contacting Vacuo. And even earlier Salem talked about pressing on, mentioning the Sword under Shade, the academy in Vacuo. What might be happening is Salem is going off with her new pets to attack Shade while Tyrian and Watts run interference in Atlas. And on top of that, remember who said they were going to Shade at the start of the Volume...

I think that fight could have been a lot longer, like you said. Also, the still image flashbacks... oh man those got me in the feels. Still, a lot to look forward to next volume! I've really enjoyed these reactions, Arryn, you're always an engaging and entertaining reactor. :)

Leviathan: *stares at Ruby* How ya doing?

Uh huh, 43 minutes isn't a long video, riiiight. ;) Also, to put a pin in this, Arryn did say that Bumblebee is probably pretty much confirmed, but she does say, "They're not dating yet." Which makes sense. They're not at that point. There is a lot of conflict that is going to rise from this. For one thing, there's a whole big thing called the potential end of the world. Not the best time to focus too much on relationships. For another, there's a whole thing with Sun, there's definitely attraction there, that's potential drama. But the BIGGEST potential drama would be with Ilya. I could see a bit of "What, I wasn't good enough" with Ilya. I do think it's not so much that Blake was totally straight and therefore wasn't noticing Ilya's feelings due to being straight and more along the lines of Blake just...not being able to read people well. I think this volume cemented that when she tried to "help" Yang twice. I like Blake and Yang together because I think they're adorable and they both fit and contrast in ways that are worthwhile, but I also think there's potential for major league drama down the line. I hope not, but the potential is there.

Do you know what I'd like to see in volume 7? Weiss and Blake connecting more. They both have a lot more in common than they realize. Both are survivors of abuse, and I'd like to see Blake recognizing herself in Weiss and lending her support and understanding.

Quick mention, Cinder and Neo’s new outfits and looks after having a presumably off screen evil girls day, (whistle) Anyway my main focus: Salem is done manipulating through the shadows and agents now for a display of her godlike power by toppling a kingdom with an army of her pretties. This is even bigger then people might realize here’s what I mean: If Volume 3 and Cordovon are any indication of what Atlas loves to do is present themselves as great defenders and innovators of technology. That is why their kingdom is going to fall, not because Watts and Tyrian are preparing in the background, not because Salem is coming there to destroy it with her army of flying Gorilla Grimm Apes and more Grimm but because it was destined to even without Salem’s influence long ago. Let me ask you, what gives Atlas it’s high and mighty arrogant disposition? Their kingdom “discovered” Dust first and because of that they’ve deluded themselves into thinking they’re better then everyone and everything outside their kingdom or surrounding territories and excursions. Salem could just as easily go to Vale or Vaccuo and take down those kingdoms first THEN Atlas but she’s smart enough to know that when she obliterates Atlas people will fear her and be hurt but also revel in her power after she offers publicly anyone amnesty if they join her. How do I know this will happen to take a quote from Hazel there’s an old saying: “The best way to predict how someone will react is to look at their past actions”. Every time Salem displayed her immortality or her influence it led to Kings and queens being swayed to her side of thinking or In the case of working with Oz worship. So she’ll already have several followers in the form of Faunaus because Watts and Tyrian have probably told them Adam died as a martyr for their freedom and future and that a “goddess” is coming to set things right in response and then once Atlas is destroyed or even during its destruction several citizens or officials will turn on Atlas in order to save themselves and the people they love while the rest of the higher ups aka Ironwood, the Atlas Council, and ESPECIALLY the Schnee Dust Company will be thrown to the Beowolf Grimm trampling through the procession of their Queen. At first I was annoyed that Ruby petrified the Leviathan and everyone is impressed and congratulating her, but then I thought about it and I’m absolutely elated she did! Why you may ask, because it’s all downhill from here for her because the writers wouldn’t show not only the Leviathan shedding some of the stone off or Salem preparing to go to Atlas herself if it wasn’t to show that Silver Eyes won’t Deus ex Machina her arrival or everything ALL the time if anything it’ll just show that even though her Cabal has effortlessly killed several other Silver Eyed warriors it isn’t because they’re a threat to Salem but rather it’s just a hindrance to her Grimm. In short I’m more happy for next Volume even more then ever before. Addendum: if you couldn’t tell I’ve always been more of a fan to villains/villainess then heroines/heroes. No specific reason to be perfectly honest I just always have been.

I'm glad to see Ruby recall an image of summer before using the Silver Eyes power, as well as the fact Qrow is finally starting to heal. He chose not to drink this episode and and hopefully in time he'll fully kick the horrible habit he has with alcohol, finally stop using it as a coping mechanism for all the loses and tragedy he suffered. That end scene with Salem was horrifying though, like the flying monkeys from Wizard of Oz, but on Steroids. Also, love that little scene of Ruby deflecting the attention off her to Oscar. Even now Ruby isn't good with the whole "being the bees knees".

i think that salem cant be destroyed. BUT, she can learn. she can learn the true value of life and death, then she will be able to move on. that was their deal. so she must learn to be stopped.

Well, we know Silver Eyes seems to have an effect on magic wielders... But what effect would it have on a person like Salem? We know she has magic, sure... But she also took a dive into the pools, and came out different for it. Her entire body is changed from the experience, and even personality. Thinking back on it, Salem probably wasn't hateful of the entire world back when she was human, she just disliked being in a cage. (Some people can say she's selfish, but I can try to relate the being in a prison thing to ozma's death in another comment) When she took the dive into the pools, that was when she gained the hatred that she has. Regardless, while it seems that the silver eyes, or atleast the god of lights power doesn't destroy the god of darkness' pools, it will destroy anything that comes from them. So while the silver eyes nullifies magic, as it's a gift from the god of darkness apparently... I would say it would probably turn Salem into a statue. Even if temporarily. Sure, she can't die until certain conditions are met, as per the gods words... But they could disable her, for an unknown portion of time.

I’d like to quickly point out that the ‘indomitable’ song is a song inspired by Monty and his words of wisdom about life. Appropriate given the anniversary of his passing was a couple days ago. It shows that he’s still with his girls in spirit.

I still think the Atlas military mech to be horribly designed.

I took the "do it yourself" line as possible foreshadowing of *direct* Salem involvement coming up next volume. She's running out of undefeated minions, after all.

Agreed with you about the Leviathan fight, I felt it was kinda underwhelming compared to other fights in the show. The reveal about how far Neo's powers have come, was cool, mostly due to how few words there were in the scene but I feel like it would've worked better as a post credits scene. The group planning on the fly (By literally) to use Ruby's silver eyes to kill the Leviathan and having Ren and Jaune cloak the ship was smart, then once that failed, using Weiss' summon to give Ruby a platform. This meant that if Ruby failed in stopping it, the rest could live. Then the montage of memories was perfect, showing us she didn't want to fail like last time at beacon when so many lives were on the line and her using the relic as a safety net was some great quick thinking on her part and I hope that the third question is used before the end of the next volume. Then we have Summer's face reveal. I am so glad she didn't end up looking like an older Ruby with a white cloak and seems to have her own style from which Ruby got hers but other than that, I don't have much to say. Agreed about the death of the Leviathan. Cordovin rushing in and kill stealing from Ruby was just so underwhelming, like, that was Ruby's kill, let her kill one of the big boss Grimm for once! As for Cordovin letting them go, it makes sense, they did just help her take down one of the biggest Grimm and save countless lives. She may be fanatical, but at least she isn't too far gone. Everything in the dropship at the end was great, the interactions between Qrow and Maria, seeing how the two mentors to the group reflect on how the day went was nice (But yeah, Qrow did very little in that whole fight), same with Ruby trying to be humble about what she did. Then with Oscar talking about Ozpin helping him land the ship, I'm already worried about everyone's favourite farm boy. Sure he may not have taken control in that moment, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's planning on doing so in the future. Finally the reveal of Atlas. I'd say the easiest thing to spot is the smoke plums from the lower part. It wouldn't surprise me if this is where the mines are where Ilia lost her parents and seems likely to be where the poor of the continent live, forced to work long days with little rest, while the rich live the high life up above. Hopefully we see some sort of revolution will be started and the poor will rise up but that would also likely incite a large Grimm attack... Of flying Beringel... That's gonna be fun! Well, that's another volume gone. Overall this has been my second favourite volume, especially with how good it was throughout the first half of the volume. I feel like the tone shifted a little too much during the second half, especially leading up to the finale but it was still an enjoyable end of a volume. The animators did really well this volume, adding small details to each movement or even to characters in the background. Then there's Volume 7, I hope that we get to see lots of Atlas, both the rich and poor side, and then see a full on revolution against the rich. Sure it would be cliche, but it is the only thing I could see happening, especially since having a Schnee helping the poor rise up would easily add some tension to the volume that would make sense. #TheBeesAreFree #KeepMovingForward

THIS VOLUME WAS FRICKIN AMAZING....the opening theme, Jinn, the “history of Salem” episode, The Apathy Grimm & Ruby using her silver eyes, Maria being the “Grimm Reaper”, the “red haired women”(connected to Pyrrha in some way), the Blake&Yang vs Adam fight, seeing “Summer Rose” for the first time, to the after credit scene, and my personal favourite THE RETURN OF NEO (#top5bestgirlsofrwbyforme)....this was definitely the best volume of RWBY to date (and I hope it continues with Vol. 7.....who knows maybe we will potentially get a chance to learn what “really” happened to Summer (I hope)). Anyway, my final verdict of this volume: Character Designs: 9.5/10 Story: 10/10 Fight Scenes: 10/10 Themes: 10/10 Grimm Designs: 10.5/10 Music: 15/10 Character Development for Ruby: 15/10 Enjoyment: 15/10 Salem: 10/10 Emotions felt (a.k.a. The “feels”): 15/10 Overall Score: 120/100 Can’t wait till next year. P.S. I just loved your reactions for this volume, can’t wait to see your Gen:Lock reaction vids.

I'm telling ya, the ongoing theme is personal demons. Vol 4 was Ren & Nora with the Nuckelavee. Vol 5 was Juane with Cinder and possibly Yang with her mother. Vol 6 was obviously Blake and Yang with Adam. Vol 7 will be Weiss versus Papa Schnee. Then will be Ruby against Cinder which will finally be the end of Cinder. Then it's Oz versus Salem(with help from everyone else).

It's kinda crazy to remember the fact they're all still teenagers doing all of this stuff💙

Personally I'd put this finale on par if not ahead of v3's which previously was untouched, though v6 has definitely taken best volume spot. Like from animation, to writing, to character development, and music its been so great. Yang couldn't keep from touching Blake (2-3 scenes have her with her arm either on Blake's lower back or hip) and that little smile + look away knowingly (I'd wager even Ruby knows with that look). On Blake's end, she was so comfortable with Yang touching her and the look she has after Weiss mentioning Yang being there for her. Like this is what legit romance looks like and me being a total romantic died from it xD Also love that they got a duet bashing Adam (though c'mon RT gimme a solo Blake song next volume plz). Loved the bit about Blake and Yang dating cause yup they totally are! I can't wait to see where their relationship goes in v7 (and hope its into a prejudice secondary storyline). I can't wait for the full version of Indomitable, not to mention all the songs for this volume cause so many great ones. Rising, Miracle, Indomitable, Nevermore, and acoustic versions of prior songs just so much great to hit my ears with (which I've been spamming Nevermore since last week xD) I hope Ruby continues being developed into v7 as well as Weiss. I hope Weiss gets to use her knight (if its not perma dead) to knock Jac-ass into a wall. Also if I could totally see MartialArcs (Jaune/Ren) if Renora weren't together.

Well looks like team Ruby's going to have their hands full with flying monkeys and a giant army of Grimm it looks like this time Salem is not going to stand for this and I have a feeling General ironwood's going to lock them up if ozpin doesn't get out of oscars head and get him to understand the situation and where the hell is the winter Maiden

I am very excited for vol 7. I want to see more of Whitley, he is clearly under Jaque's thumb. But Whitley realizes that he is kind of alone. Weiss and Whinter had time together with the huntress training and the semblance, also with Klein helping them. I want Weiss and Whinter to try to connect with their brother and stop Jaque's influence and tun him into an honorable man, like their grandad. Also James is going to have a great deal of trouble coming to terms with Ozpin, Ozma, Salem and their lies. I want closure from the feather scene of the vol 5 postcreds. BTW, I need more teams SSSN, team beacon and maybe team FNKY now that we are in Atlas.

So sad to see the season finished, but I can't wait to see your reactions to the next one! :D Also, are you gonna react to Gen:Lock in the meantime? I'd love to see what you think of it!

Speculation: Salem is going to go to either shade or beacon. Watts and tyrion are going to Atlas feels weird for them to double up. Me and some friends think her hitting shade first is most likly. Sun is there so we have people to care about and they haven't moved against it yet. Possible finale in vale? Thinking Raven, if she stayed with tai, could portal main cast over with her link to qrow? So to summarize, JNR + RWBY take on stealth attack by tyrion and watts, Salem wrecks shade, big fight in vale.

Its funny. back when I first saw this episode and I heard the song that played in the background, I was like YES! YES! Finally! WE Finally get a Ruby song! (Cause she is one of my favorites, and since she has not gotten a song since volume 1) Then it turned out to be a monty song called Indomitable. Im happy that it is a monty song, but im still waiting for that ONE SONG. (Since Ruby is the MOST underdeveloped character in the show, I see a lot of great potential in what she could act like, why she acts like that, why she feels that way. And I think a song could help with that. I know we got Red Like Roses Part 2, But that is just one thing. (HEHE) And Blake and Sun, and weiss and yang all got their own songs, Team JNPR (Mostly Jaune and Pyrha) has gotten their own songs.)

Another season has come and gone. Before I saw this episode, I was honestly expecting Ruby to have Jaune amplify everyone's Aura so they'd be able to weaken the Leviathan enough for her to finish it off with her silver eyes. So when I did watch the episode, I was disappointed that the silver eyes wasn't enough to stop it and Cordovin had to do so instead.
