I know it's been many years now from when Ryan was a basket case ...but what a turn around...he's one of the best analysts and so well spoken...no stuttering or "like" every sentence...😁✌️
Ryan has superb presentation skills and some really insightful takes. What a miracle he turned his life around. He might be my new favorite NFL analyst.
Ryan Leaf is a leading analyst in both the college and NFL ranks. He just understands the game from a wealth of spaces and I hope he gets a bigger gig sometime soon. He is the ultimate in redemption stories.
So great to see a living example and a feel good story of someone that turned his life around from the lowest of lows to currently a respected, knowledgeable analyst. Being an in house guest means the guest is going to have a long segment and Leaf is so great to have because he has great responses to every question DP throws at him. No hesitation, just real, sincere, knowledgeable comments and opinions to every question. Great show!
I love the fact that: Every time I see Ryan Leaf on 'The Dan Patrick Show' it is...In Studio. He never does a 'zoom' or he's never 'on the phone'(at least not by my knowledge, I could be wrong).
Earlier in the season I wasn't a fan of da' Bears keeping Justin Fields, but his play the last couple of months has changed my opinion. I agree with Ryan: keep Fields, trade the #1 pick & get some extra draft capital & try to put the team in a position to get Marvin Harrison Jr so Fields has a big time WR. Then spend the rest of the draft on the O & D lines bcuz building a team from the inside out has been proven time & again to make long-term winners
Dude I'm so happy he said what he said about Penix I'm a big time Vikings fan and we're going to draft one high. IVE BEEN SAYING I WANT PENNIX BADLY TO BE THE NEXT QB FOR THE VIKINGS TILL 2040!!!
Why does the show put their in studio guests microphones on a pole right in front of the guest. He’s hit the microphone two or three times already. Low budget issues or just don’t see how awkward it looks.
I suspect having a wife and child has helped to keep him on the sane path. But, it wasn't that long ago (2020) he was arrested for assault. He is a very articulate analyst and for this reason alone he is a very compelling analyst. Its also true that he is aware that his demons are not that far in the rear view mirror and thus there is the chance he may fall again.
I agree with dan. I own some real estate and anytime I'm put in the situation where I'm being told what I can and can't do with an asset that I own and paid for... there's nothing that get under my skin more. It's really a reflexive response it doesn't really matter the issue per se if you understand what I'm saying
Ryan wouldn't understand the reason Sean tried to yell at Russ is because of his lack of emotion and seemingly competitiveness during the game he was trying to fire him up
Have to dispute Ryan's point on the Chiefs and dropped passes (ie no significant change from last year). The Chiefs WRs have dropped 8 percent of Mahomes passes compared to the next highest team rate of 5.1% dropped passes. Also, Watson isn't close to the most drops on the Chiefs - Rashee Rice has 7 drops (12.5%), then Kelce, then Toney and then Watson.
I'm with Ryan regarding Payton. I think Payton is a narcissistic @sshole. He can't make the coaching adjustments to showcase Russ's strengths. Ryan has come such a long way in life. I'm so proud of him!
The money from that 350,000 fine should go to the family who was totally disrespected. Tepper has already shown that he's incapable of being an NFL owner. There are so many other more responsible folks waiting in the wings with their billions. Huh?
Here's Dan playing the commissioner again....stay in your lane Danny...what, Steve balmers reward for owning the clippers is "he gets to go to the games"....?...I think that billionaire could afford a suite at clippers games if he wasnt owner...👎
If you are suspended by the NFL you cannot go to the game even if you buy a ticket. It’s about the fact that he owns the team but isn’t allowed around them.
No JFC...that's not what I'm saying... comment?..great,.. fantastic!..but non expert opinion...on things you've never done..i.e ..play, ref, coach, general manage, and commish...the only reason I listen to Patrick is he does get some great guests on..that are expert... you probably didn't even notice but when Dan would give his take and opinion on what the real experts should do....i.e. goodell about panther owner...his guest who IS an expert in nfl matters, subtly, politely... offered a better solution .... when you have NEVER been on the inside, you have no idea all the mechanisms legalities involved...JUST SAYIN ✌️😁
I have noticed that Dan often comes across as insensitive and demeaning while interviewing people… Always has to bring up something negative or embarrassing… Particularly here, about Ryan’s past and his struggles with addiction, while making condescending remarks as if he’s making a joke of it or talking down to him… Here’s an idea then why not just ask football questions or something positive? he does this patronizing kind of thing to a lot of guests, but particularly to Ryan and it’s unprofessional and really pisses me off… If Dan Patrick had been divorced four times would he want to keep talking about it every single radio interview? I don’t think so… and Ryan is more successful in football then probably 98% of people who strive to be one of the best ever at their particular craft… so While not being able to hold Ryan’s jockstrap in any sport… He should also review his method of interviewing athletes and get off his high horse that he rides on for no apparent reason… he’s arrogant and narcissistic… Honestly, he’s just a douche bag that one of the ratings suck for this show 🫡🙅♂️
