Thanks mate! Because it's electric mate I wouldn't see much need in getting it serviced at all. To sharpen the blade you can get tools to do it at home yourself, or just take it to a mower shop and they normally do chain sharpening there. The chain is really easy to pull off using the chain tensioning wheel and just unscrewing it all the way, let's you get in behind the cover plate to clean any muck and sawdust out of there to keep the blade in tip top shape!

100% it definitely does - I had seen mixed reviews before I bought mine and was pleasantly surprised when I got it. I think maybe the 10” bar version doesn’t have one however mine definitely does.

Agreed. The compact two amp batteries can work, but they run down quickly and the power is less.. The larger 4 amp batteries work well.

@@TroyStaines The "real" Ryobi HP batteries have an extra set of contacts on the bottom of the battery stem that communicate with the electronics on brushless Ryobi tools...some of them. It's confusing because even though that chainsaw is brushless it lacks the extra contacts to communicate with the "true" HP batteries, (at least the North American 12" chainsaw lacks the contacts, not sure about the Oz version). To clarify, when I say the "real" HP batteries, not all Ryobi HP batteries have the extra contacts, so it seems like Ryobi has made this as confusing as possible. The ideal Ryobi setup would be to have an HP battery with the extra contacts along with a brushless Ryobi tool that has the extra contacts. To be clear, I'm referring only to the 18V line. As a side note, as long as you're happy with the performance you're getting from the saw you should be all set. You will get a slight bump in performance, as well as runtime with a larger battery, but you have to be able to justify the price versus value benefit because batteries such as the 9Ah don't come cheap. There is also the added weight, but you're young and strong so that probably won't matter much to you.

Thanks Hermann - so far the batteries I have are fine for my main use which is camping and gathering small firewood. I might grab a 9aH if I need more down the track :)

Mine does fairly well on a 4ah battery for the low impact work I ask of it.
