Got this new Ryobi combo tool kit that came with 2 batteries and a charger. I was excited to get these babies charged until I was met with a blinking red light on the charger for both batteries.
Yes we were just about to throw it in the bin and buy a new one we put the battery back in gave it a hit and wooble and work again. Haha techishion would of charge us for that
Thank you for this. I just received a new lawnmower and wondering what’s going on with the flashing red and green light. I looked up the instructions and nothing was stated.👍Now it’s charging!!
DITTO...same as the others!! NONE of my 'other' Ryobi's need that extra push!!! Just this NEW one! I was pretty annoyed and already had it packaged up to make the 8 mile drive back!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Bro you saved my life. I bought my first ryobi impact wrench 3/8 18v 220 torque. And I didn't press the battery in like you showed in the video and I thought the battery was charging. So after using the tool to rotate the tires for the car the tool stopped working because of low battery. So I just put the battery in the charging tool without pressing it and left it the whole day to charge. I think I have been doing this everytime i charged the battery. So I went to homedepot today where I bought it from in the first place and exchanged it to a higher model 1/2 18v 300 torque impact wrench. And I have noticed flashing red light when I try to charge the battery. The same thing did to my first ryobi impact wrench too. I started to freak out, lol until I saw your video. Thank god now it works. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️
Solution if this happens on an older charger. Check the pins in the charger hole they may need to be pried out a bit as they may not be making contact with the battery terminals. Had this happen on mine, as soon as I bent them outward a bit the charger worked as normal.
Thanks for taking the time to share this. I had exactly the same 'problem'. My original Ryobi battery just drops in to the charger whereas the new one needs the extra push you demonstrated.
You are a genious. I spent a month thinking my batteries are dead. Was going to RMA them and you fixed everythng in a minute. Thanks for the wonderful video.
If this isn't it, your charger may be holding some residual static. Unplug the charger/remove it from the cord. Let the juice burn off (red blinking will continue even when unplugged until it's finished). Then (when the blinking stops), holster the battery before plugging the charger into the wall. Should go to blinking green.
Good lord, thank you. Watched a couple videos, was dreading having to take the charger apart. Watched your vid, boom problem solved and I was just an idiot.
Usually a solid red light happens even when the battery is not in the charging device at all. It just means there is power. If before you put the battery in, the light is solid red and after it is also solid red, it could mean there is no contact between the battery terminals and charger. Do you have another battery on hand you can test out? If it is the same result, it could be the charger not making contact with the battery. Of course, this is all just me guessing at what the problem could be.
It could be a bad battery. Does it happen when you try it with another battery? Do you live in a cold area? It could also be the battery needs to get back to room temp.
@@thefirsttimehomeowner I've try another battery and stil same.i keep my charger on a well ventilated storage so it's free from dust or corrosion..i suspect that one of my battery is in bad condition and when i charge it damage the circuit board.might as well i buy new charger rather than pay for repair.anyway thanks for the reply and advice.
@@achillesmercado909 Sorry that I missed this one. I do it all the time and it is fine. I think the charger is smart enough to handle that for you. I wouldn't purposely leave it in indefinitely but the margin of error for leaving it in overnight is definitely accounted for and fine.
